How credible are the "hard delegate" and "soft delegate" counts that thegreenpapers.com estimates?

I was just wondering if the hard delegate and soft delegate counts are important. Any idea if we should consider them accurate?

Question

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is a hard and soft delegate? Is that the same as a committed and a non-committed delegate? If so, does that mean that the 700+ 'hard' delegates must vote for Mc. in round 1 and the 600+ 'soft' don't have to?

Well something like that It

Well something like that

It is a confusing process sop let me put it to you like this.

Mccain now has 986 pledged delegates he needs 1191 pledged to even be the nominee

This 1191 would have to vote for him on the first ballot for him to obtain the nomination.

We are working now to have our people unbind the delegates at the state conventions so it really isn't going to matter what Mccains numbers are.

Delegate numbers you are looking at are just NUMBERS not actual people. The delegates are being elected in many states at thier county conventions now just to go to the state convention and then they will be voted on to go to the national convention.

See my post on the delegate process explained here : http://www.dailypaul.com/node/36650#comment-385798
