Ron Paul ad on Drudge Report Now Because of You!

UPDATED 10/26
I am collecting money to place a banner add on the Drudge Report. This site has room for 154,000 impressions daily per advertiser per day. We could get Ron Paul some main stream attention that is sure to have people talking.
$1,500 a month would get an estimate 24,000 impression daily. To get 146,000 impressions you would need roughly $300.00 a day.
VISITS (Impressions) TO DRUDGE 10/26/07
017,324,795 IN PAST 24 HOURS
The banner would link people to www.ronpaul2008.com.

Thank you and go Ron Paul!

What's $1500 dollars to a war chest of $5mm?
Get on the Drudge page! Even blowfish Limbaugh refers to it all the time. All the media scan it daily. I suspect with the success of Jay Leno's show, and more exposure on Drudge, contribution should more than increase to handle the $1500.

BRILLIANT...Advertising on Drudge...DO IT!
You GO FOR IT, la4ronpaul!
This is a NO BRAINER. DRUDGE is one of the top 10 news sites!
FOR EXAMPLE NumbersUSA is totally internet savvy, has a huge membership and the Drudge site was THEIR recent advertising website of choice to stunningly annihilate the Senate Immigration Bill that would have granted amnesty.
Write NumbersUSA and ask for a recommendation if you don't believe me! And I'm sure they would be ammenable to Dr. Paul because he is one of their Anti-Amnesty Champions because of his record and they would want him to be successful.
i don't know about this one.....
hi,
i think that this is a big waste of funds........it's too expensive and when it
comes right down to it - is it really worth it? i personally do not think so.
i would send the $'s to the campaign on november 5th. that will do alot more than a banner.
blessings,
sunny
Ron Paul is My President
My thoughts
If 263 people clicked on the page that went to RP' site that would have not gone before for only $655 so far I think that is great. Especially when you consider another 350,000 have now seen his face and his name.
Picture this. You are thinking about buying a new car. Maybe the first time you see an ad on tv, about a great car and you see the looks and how it handles. Your curiosity is awaken, but something distracts you and you are not ready to buy.
Then you are in rush hour traffic, and you hear a commercial about the same car you saw on t.v. and they talk about it getting 35 mpg. You are in your car, low on gas, thinking I sure could use the extra mileage.
The next week you are on the road and someone passes you in that new car and it is your favorite color. You become a little more interested.
A month later your car breaks down and you are told you have to spend $1500 to fix it. At this point you figure you want to trade it in. You remember that car you have seen and heard about.
Many people then pick up the newspaper to see what kind of deal local dealership are running. The guy or lady sees something on the car they liked and because they have and seen quite a bit about it, they decide to go to the dealership.
Our ad on The Drudge Report is adding to advertising mix, and can not be judged just on clicks, even though getting almost 300 people in five days, who may have not visited site otherwise, is not bad. The other thing this ad does is shows that RP had the ability to reach areas that many never thought he could reach.
Many thousands of others may become more interested as they see his name on sites like this.
Just my two cents.
By all means contribute to the campaign
But, this is another way to help out!
Someone told me the other day that they heard a Huckabee supporter talking about the Ron Paul Drudge Ad.
I think that is really cool!
$1500/mo for a banner ad
$1500/mo for a banner ad that gets 24,000 impressions per day? A waste of money. You'd be lucky if 1/1000 impressions bothers to click on this, and then how many of those people bother to read futher into it?
A WASTE. For $1500/mo you could hire an intern FULL-TIME to go around introducing businesses and community leaders to Ron Paul and what he stands for, in person. Handing out DVDs and literature. Would be waaay more effective.
This is a waste of money. Waste, waste, waste.
Ron Paul banner ad
I honestly think with a Ron Paul banner ad, it's not so much the clicks, it's just putting his name out there as much as possible.
Maybe it's a waste, maybe not. It's worth at least experimenting with in my opinion.
I've seen a lot of banner ads from the other candidates on other sites, so obviously someone else thinks that method is effective to some degree.
DON"T BE FOOLED
This is probably a plant. From another candidate.
Thanks!
For railroading someone who is trying to help Ron Paul.
Ron Paul has had over 400,000 impressions already for $700 so far. He has had nearly 300 clicks leading to his site. His name recognition is building up. We are also keying in extra impressions in the early primary states.
Many people who do not know about RP are seeing his name and picture which is building name recognition. We are a market that is not being touched. I guess 750,000 page views and clicks to the site are a waste. I guess we should go back to doing nothing?
Maybe these people who see his name on Drudge, will listen to RP the next time he talks on radio. It is a compliment to the marketing mix.
I spoke with people at the Hollywood Fundraiser and even mentioned to Dr. Paul. Many people think it is a great idea, including some people close to the campaign.
Not only are we going to run this ad on Drudge Report, we are building banner ads for each newspaper in NH, then we will go after Iowa, and SC.
We are also working with Operation NH, to provide coverage to areas the RP campaign might not reach.
I have said in someone else post before, it really SUCKS when someone has an idea here, whether it be ours or someone elses, then they get railroaded.
I believe if you see someone trying to do something good, then let them do it! Atleast we are trying to make a difference and have a plan.
It is a very good idea
First of all, the ad looks really good and professional. I also think it only makes sense to have an ad on Drudge. It's really cool that you put that together and have it up and running there.
With the marketing of a candidate, I don't think there is only one good method of promotion. Is wearing a Ron Paul button on your shirt going to get Ron Paul elected? I mean you could go through everything and find a way to reason that something is not effective.
But like you said, it's just part of the mix. And honestly, 1500 isn't a lot to experiment with this, especially with it being shown to so many Drudge visitors.
Google makes billions of dollars from companies spending money on online advertising. If it didn't work, Google wouldn't be in business for long.
300 clicks from Drudge $700 (not to mention impressions). If just 14 of them donated $50, you've already broken even as far as contribution to the campaign - not to mention the word of mouth that the clickers will start after learning about Ron Paul.
Also 14 contributors
might equal 14 more votes.
It wasn't my intention to
It wasn't my intention to offend or hurt feelings. I believe a real person talking to people 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week, is more effective. For $700 an intern could work 2 weeks. Or you get 300 clicks onto a website. I suppose, if those 300 uniques are quality, and most actually look into RP, then maybe it is better. I'm just trying to help! Sorry.
No harm taken
I can not manage an intern. I can only do what I can do. We have started this PAC to make a difference the way we know how. I have built business campaign and Dante is excellent when it comes to marketing. We met here on The Daily Paul. Now we have formed a PAC and have put together a plan.
Like I said, many people at Hollywood Fundraiser told me that they loved this. We are organized, it does not take hand holding by a paid RP staffer, and we are creative. Others, who have tapped out $2300 like myself, can not contribute anymore financially to the campaign. So, this is how I can help.
We need to win New Hampshire! We need more people donating and new supporters. The base has to be expanded.

First invoice
Tim,
These are the results from the first invoice we received. As it goes on, we will continue to post. Thanks for your support. Some of these people who click will turn into future supporters and donors. Others who see his name and the ad may listen to him more closely when he is on Jay Leno, or on the radio, or read an article about Ron Paul because his name awareness is building.

Me too!
I think I will switch it to this!
How This Works
Hello everyone,
I have placed the order through Adbrite. Our ad is pending review. I have added my donation to the total and that gives us a $60 dollar a day budget ($1800 for the month) once everything is approved and the ad is running.
Since $60 dollars does not buy every ad on The Drudge Report, our donations bid on impressions by location in quantities per thousand. That means if more advertisers wants to run in CA and there is limited space that the cost per impression (charged by thousand impressions) would be higher there than let's say Alaska where there might be less competition.
This means ads are not distributed evenly across the regions. Our ads will be distributed across the country, and may sometimes run more in some areas. I have picked the regions for the U.S. only. I included the key battle ground states (Iowa, SC, NH, Nevada) as well as most others.
If you would like me to raise the budget, feel free to keep donating. I would like to thank William (DANTE) for designing the ad. I hope this ad really helps Ron Paul. We will be teaming up to target more sites in hope of bringing more supporters on board.
I am including the email I received from Adbrite:

Nice Work!
You might also give the campaign a heads-up and ask them to track referrals (is the referring page from Adbrite or Drudge?). That would allow us to get al least some feedback on click-throughs.
we will know referrals
adbrite tells you how many people clicked on your ad hence no need to waste the campaigns time.
The point here is not only to spread the word but also to get Ron Paul some face time on the most trafficed "news" site on the web. Drudge like others often ignores Ron and if he sees our dedication might start touting Ron more himself.
Even getting several thousand people a day to see Ron Paul up there helps even if they don't click through.
Good to know they track that
Duh, I should have realized that.
I agree with your other points as well.
Just so you all know
www.ronpaul2008.com has already gotten 13 clicks in the first hour.
Way cool. Very nice work!
