McCain to restore FL and MI delegations?

0 votes

I just got an e-mail from the Republican Party of Florida and I thought this was interesting:

"Florida Republican Party Chairman Jim Greer said Monday he expects Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to restore the Florida and Michigan delegations now that he has the nomination locked up.

"I've had very favorable and positive discussions with Sen. McCain and I feel sure this will be resolved before the convention, with Florida's delegation seated," said Greer. "I think it will come sooner, rather than later."

Does this mean all of FL's 114 (?) delegates go to the convention instead of half, like they decided before.

Has anyone on here heard if they have been selected as a Florida delegate? I haven't heard whether I am or not.

Explain what McInsane has to say about this.

It's not about the Republicans. This is an issue of the Democratics, right?
This makes no sense to me at all.

No

Florida was stripped of half of its delegates. I guess michigan had a similar problem. It had something to do with the RNC penalizing the state party for changing the process rules too close to the deadline. Funny how they did that for Florida, yet completely ignored it in Louisiana and Nevada.

Florida Caucuses Schedule.

Florida has not chosen their delegates yet. The first caucus is tommorow. The caucuses schedule is as follows:

I thought...

... the MI and FL delegates issue was a Democratic Party thing??

If it's true that John

If it's true that John McCain has the say as to whether or not these delegations are restored, then I believe this is an incredible conflict of interest. I suppose if those delegations did not benefit McCain that he would not restore them...

...

McCain will never know.....

I'm in 025. I will have my MCain stump speech ready. Stealth is they way to go, because I have a feeling our Charirman and Chairwoman are going to be McCain supporters. All 114 delegates plus 114 alternates.

Good luck,

Just out of curiosity...

What FL districts is everyone in? I'm in the the 16th!

I think

I'm in the 19th but I'm not sure. How do you know for sure?

So far my understanding is

that the Republicans planned all along to send all the delegates to the convention ( betting on all of them getting seated). It's a whole lot easier for the Republicans to get all their delegates seated since we only lost half. I know that for congressional delegates & alternates in some counties of Florida you must go to the meeting and be voted on by the "committee" --the GOP county group. Did you apply for State/alternate &/or Congressional/alternate?

I applyed to be a

Congressional delegate.
I got a letter saying they got my application but I haven't heard anything since.

I know! if he had it "locked up" already why would he care about FL? it's rubbish.
I would like to know what dirty tricks the RNC and McMadman are trying to pull though.

I will try to find out

where it was listed about the Congressional meetings. There was a precinct list that I easily found a few weeks ago but now it seems to be buried somewhere--maybe they received too many applications! I'll post it when I find out so you can see when and where your next meeting is. I have to run out now to pick my daughter up but I'll get back to you.

Here is the link

hope I do this right! http://www.rpof.org/rnc.php Go to the click here for schedule of CD caucuses and find your district number. It lists when & where to go. Hope this helps a little.

First off he hasn't locked

First off he hasn't locked up anything.

2nd he has no authority to restore those delegates that decision can only come from the RNC and all the registered delegates will have a voice in this as well. We have many Ron Paul delegates in FL

More propaganda to make people think Mccain is the nominee.

Maybe a silly question

but would it be better or worse to have all Florida delegates seated--considering from what I have read they are bound for 3 votes unless we can change the "rules"? It would also appear that if there was a successful vote to unbind delegates, then to have them all seated would be to our advantage.
