Operation "Restituo Res Publica" Physical Actions That Produce Results

In the 1960's Dr. Timothy Leary coined the phrase "Turn On - Tune In - and Drop Out. Dr. Leary and his followers had good intentions but their plan was fatally flawed! Thank God the Ron Paul rEVOLution has not adopted Dr. Leary's plan. Throughout the Viet Nam War, there were thousands of protest in Washington D.C. and in cities all over the country. Despite the massive amount of time and energy that was invested into organizing and attending all of the anti-war protest, the war continued. Eventually, the protestors gave up hope and went home having failed to accomplish their goal. I will never forget the image of Norman Morrison, the devout quaker who on November 2nd 1965, stood outside Defense Secretary McNamara's office and, while holding a baby in his arms, doused himself with lighter fluid and set himself ablaze. The baby was rescued but Mr Morrison was burned to a crisp. The war continued.

The Viet nam war did not end because of the thousands of protest. The war ended primarily as a result of three events.

1) The Tet Offensive
2) The War In Viet Nam was consuming over 70% of the defense budget (1.6 Billion per year)
3) Walter Cronkite

Case Example 1 - One January 31st 1968, the communist began a major offensive all over the country of Viet Nam...The Tet Offensive. What made this Offensive so effective was that during the previous year the Johnson Admin had predicted the war had turned the corner and that victory was right around the bend. For the Johnson Admin, The Tet Offensive was their "shock and awe."

The truth is that the Tet Offensive was not a success for the commies, from a military perspective. Initially, we lost ground but within 48 hours we had turned the tide and by the end of the campaign we had killed over 45,000 commies! We won the fight! But, we had to face the fact that the war was a long way from over.

Shortly after Tet, Walter Cronkite went to Saigon and upon returning he made the following statement on his evening news broadcast,

"It is increasingly clear to this reporter that the only rational way out will be to negotiate, not as victors, but as an honorable people who lived up to their pledge to defend democracy and did the best they could."

These powerful words from the most trusted man in America (at that time) was the thing that changed the debate in America from, How Long Before We Win - to - How Do We Get Out. The war drug on another seven years until the cost of blood and treasure became too high and only then did we leave Viet Nam. Tricky Dick Nixon was elected to end the war honorably...it took him seven years to finally do it.

The point is, The protest did very little to end the war. A few powerful words by one man with great influence following a pivotal event proved to be the thing that turned the tide. Keep this in the back of your mind because history is now repeating itself. The only question is; What event will occur and what influential person will say the right words. I believe we will all find out together.

Our rEVOLution is going to succeed because we know that dropping out of the system is the wrong strategy. The truth is, If you want to affect political change, you MUST become part of the system. Their have been many post in this forum about becoming delegates and precinct committee-persons...and these people are 100% correct! The NeoCons will not be persuaded to come over to our way of thinking...they must be defeated, Their IDEAS must be defeated. You cannot merely show the beast your fangs...You must launch yourself into the belly of the beast and gut him! So how do we do that? I offer a few suggestions...some you have heard before.

1) Become Precinct Leaders and Precinct Committee Persons - The precinct level is the foundation on which you must build your organization if you want to have influence in either party and this is the place to begin if you are new to being active in politics. It's Easy to do so let's keep it up!

2) Attend the Precinct Level GOP Convention in Your Precinct and Vote For Ron Paul Republicans! This is just one event...mine took only 30 minutes and it was over!

3) Become A Delegate - Delegates can pass resolutions and change party platforms! We are doing well in this area so let's keep it up! If we stay at this, by 2012 we will be unstoppable! Patience and Persistance will prevail.

4) Voter Registration Drives - Contact your local Board Of Registars and find out the criteria to sponsor a voter registration drive! This is a little bit of work but anyone can do it. Now, you cannot promote a party, candidate, or issue on a registration drive but you can (memorize) the names of the people you sign up and send them an anonymous package or letter with important new voter information to get them up to speed! Don't advance a candidate..just plant the seed!

5) Get The Under 25 Vote - Their needs to be a Ron Paul Republican Club on every college campus. If you have a Young Republican Club then take it over from the young NeoCons or should I say take it back! Only 13% of people under age 22 are registered voters! What an opportunity!

6) Recall Elections - Eighteen States have recall elections and most states allow recall of congressman, Governors, and State Reps. If you have an elected official that is unpopular and does not follow the Constitution then you may want to recall them if your one of the eighteen states. The caution here is to make sure you have a good candidate to run against them that has a good chance of winning. If not, then you may want to reconsider because recall elections require a great deal of time and energy.

8) Think Big - Do you know that there are thousands of "Single Issue" groups all around the country? There are pro gun, anti tax, anti amnesty, pro life, civil liberties, etc, in nearly every community. Some groups are small but some have large active memberships. Any "Single Issue" group that is one of those I mentioned above should be Ron Paul supporters but most are not! Attend one of their meetings or functions and show THEM how we can help THEM get what THEY want! We own the NeoCons and the Dems on every issue. If you are going to invest the time in winning over a new supporter then why not win over someone who bring with them 5, 50, 500, 5000 or more new supporters to the cause! Think Big!

9) Stay Active in Local Issues - If there is a local issue that is hot in your community than get some meet-up members and join supporters that are on the right side of the issue and bring them into our camp if they are not already Paul supporters.

10) Spread The Phrase " NeoConservatives Are Not Real Republicans" - If events continue on their current trajectory, then 2008 is going to be a repudiation of the Bush Admin. I believe anything is possible however, I believe it is better than 50/50 that the dems will win in 2008. We CANNOT allow the headline to read "Democrats Win - Republicans Soundly Rejected." If this is the headline we read, our job will be even tougher. If the Dems win - The headline must read "Democrats Win - NeoConservatives Soundly Rejected. We must make a clear dinstinction between US and Them...WE MUST! And we must do it by September '08. We must divide and conquer. The NeoCons must be identified and defeated. Please spread the phrase "The NeoConservatives are NOT True Republicans." I will post again next Tuesday 3/18 and get back to the Mind Control operations being used against us. Also, a plan to use a little "Thought Insertation" of our own...play a little offense. Remember, Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out is a fatally flawed plan, Lets infiltrate the enemy and change the system from within...That is how we win! Thank You
