The following petition will be presented to the US. Congress during the “Freedom Rally”
on April 15, 2008.

Even though I strongly feel
Even though I strongly feel that the Grannies and their spirit of independence in relation to these rallies are detrimental to "the cause", I signed this petition.
The petition itself is vague and stereotypical of the thousands of petitions that Congress receives each year. Nice symbolism, but beyond that there isn't much substance. But like I said, I signed it anyway.
The Petition and Rally
The petition had to be edited due to space limitations online. It originally ran 4 pages, listing current violations. I appreciate your signing it even though it was "vague" and "stereotypical".
What is "detrimental" about Granny and her Rally? Do you want to accomplish something? Congress is in session on Tuesday, the petition will be presented to congress. The rally will get media coverage. There are people coming from all over, buses have been chartered and Ron Paul is speaking at the rally.
A Saturday march is a "feel good" event. Congress is gone for the weekend, the media tends to bury stories on the weekend or if you do get coverage, it will be a local blurb. What was accomplished?
" If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear or see it, Did it fall?"
Granny seems to be the only on who wants to do something effective. She wants to get the job done and we should all be supporting her.

You should really stop trying to convince me that this is the good and right thing to do. I will be there to support this event, but it's gonna be no different than the dozens of small rallies that I see all the time working in DC...Ignored.
