Pull out the money you have in cash out of your US bank and put it into Swiss Cantonal Banks
Submitted by OLIVERROBERT on Fri, 03/14/2008 - 12:31
This is the only banks I trust. In case they go bankrupt the Swiss government guarantees for your money.
Such banks are:
Banca dello Stato(Ticino), Zürcher Kantonalbank, Graubündener Kantonalbank etc... every canton has one bank.
»

used to live in Switzerland
it is a complete police state.
Bankers rule...every person living there has a file all is tapped and controlled.............on the walls I saw slogans "if you kill someone you get 20 years if cop kills you he gets 2 weeks".........
and they are heavily invested in USA stocks bonds.....Credit Swiss for example the second biggest bank there after UBS...

Hell with money
get stuff to barter, let's go back to the simple life, how much of this crap do you really need anyway? If we would just learn to barter, we would have no use for currency. You think money will keep your electricity going when your cities are bombed out? An egg or a glass of wine or cheese, maybe some soap, toothpaste, now those are things of value. Got any toliet paper??:( ?? I guess there will be a few things I am going to miss, like ice ( most of all ), toliet paper, mountain dew, a hot shower. But, hey look on the bright side, when we go back to bartering, who needs a job? Fishing all day long, taking it easy ( with the exception of killing stray neoCon every now and then) life will be pretty easy. I might start studying up on the Omish, I think they got it right.

Swiss Banking
Need an education on the following: Would you invest in $, Euros, or Franc when opening a swiss account? The Euro and Franc are also declining and would drop more if the US $ collapses. Also, so lets assume you invest in the swiss bank and you invest $1000 in US $. Now lets say the $ totally collapses and you need your $1000 that is stowed away in the swiss account. Do you end up with the $1000 or what the $ is worth if the US gives you .10 back on your dollar like they did in the depression?
Also, would it be better to use a non-private bank (the cantonals are private banking). The third biggest bank is Raiffeisen Bank and does not have branches in the US and not tied to the US mortgage mess like Deutsche, Credit Suisse, UBS.
All fiat currencies return to their intrinsic value,
which is zero.
As far as repatriating your money, you should receive the going exchange rate for the Swiss Franc and the US dollar. If the dollar falls against the Franc, you should end up with more than $US1000, however what that money will buy in the US is another story (not as much as when you sent it out of the country). If I were to send money to Europe, I'd send it to Austria not Switzerland.
Additionally, you lose money on the exchange coming and going. For $1000, or even $10,000, it would not be worth it in my opinion. A person would be better off taking that money and exchanging it for something of value in the US.
My two cents.

Austria
Why Austria?
The Austrian bank accounts are extremely private
and they haven't been smacked around like the Swiss due to the "war on terror". Swiss accounts aren't as private as they used to be.
With Austria, you get protection and are able to fly under the radar. Go to Switzerland, and you might find yourself caught in a drag-net.
I believe Liechtenstein, Andorra, and San Marino (a republic with the 3rd highest GDP per capita in Europe, Italian law, and Swiss banking) are also good bets.
There are also islands to look at but, as they are small, they are easily intimidated by the US.
Shifting any more than $9,999 at a time will alert the US govt. (unless they've changed the figure recently). Shift too much and the IRS could target you as a person fleeing the country for tax purposes and slap a huge fine on you. Plus you risk not being able to get the funds back to the US if the country goes into martial law.
Seek professional advice.

Protects vs Privacy
Thank you for your comment. I am not seeking privacy but protect from the banks going under and the falling dollar. I certainly am not counting on FDIC. As more go under (90 on the radar list) it seems they will run out of funding real quick! The $9999.00 does not apply in my case but certainly can easily be tracked down.
Any other suggetions are appreciated or recommendations.
i do believe it has changed to 5k....
cant remember where i heard it. I may be mistaken, but it was tucked away in some recently passed legislation, like everything else. So maybe transfer $4 , 999.00 =)

Not convinced...my bet is still Costa Rican real estate !!!
Probabaly right...the Swiss banks are about the best. BUT...banks are banks and they "inter-relate" to their common good.
Don't overlook food, and if you can grow your own oganic food...on your tropical mountian farm for pennies a plate, while feeling and BEING free in mind and body. Here in our patroit community in the mountainous Central Pacific of CR...we have just the right climate and soils to do just that. Plus one can still find a reasonably good deal on quality farmland.

Not a bad idea.
I've heard that they actually have a huge percentage of the money people deposit. They don't loan it out. That makes them much more stable then any bank in the US. I just don't know how you would go about getting it there. First of all, I had heard you have to know someone over there to open an account in the first place. Do you then carry a huge wad of cash over there? I think you are only allowed to take a small amount of money out of the country. Does anyone know how much? Is there a tax to take it out?
I wish an insured bank would open over here that charges people to keep their money, but then wouldn't loan it out. That is really the problem. They loan out more money then they have to make even more money. It's really greed that is causing all these problems. Then they control all the money and can freeze accounts at will. They can take all the stuff out of your safety deposit box. Then if you try to use something else as money they can arrest you. Look at what happened to Liberty Dollar. They really don't want to you have a way to protect yourself. If you could use something else as money then you won't pay the inflation tax. That just won't do. They are forcing you to pay the inflation tax. It's all a control tactic. I'm sure there will be a law coming out making it illegal to trade soon. It will be voted for unanimously by the millionaires in congress that are making money off of us suckers.
banks will go under, so we can't accept their credit either!
Pull your money out and put it in food, silver and gold.

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
I've got news for you
If the U.S. economy and banking system collapses, so will Europe's; that means if the dollar collapses, within months, the Euro will too, as will the yen and many other currencies.
Case in point: Do you know who the largest holder of real estate in Cincinnati, Ohio is? Deutsche Bank. No kidding....it's a matter of public record; go look it up. European banks have nearly as much bad paper as American banks do. The big difference is that Europe's economy has not stagnated like ours has (they still have credit to max out), but it will if the U.S. economy crashes.
In the end, WHERE your money is will be totally irrelevant because it will all be as valueless here as it is there.

You're
You're advice is just plain wacky..leave it where it's at if it's fully insured
its not fully insured... the
its not fully insured... the fed only has a fraction of the funds to cover all the accounts.. again you know not of what you speak!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
it's
it's insured for $100,000 dollars and that covers all my accounts
and you have your money in
and you have your money in dollars in a bank??? do you not realize that the dollar has lost so much purchashing power that your 100,000.00 dollar account now buys what 47,000.00 bought 7 years ago!... nice job!

I also get interest to help offset that.....And no my money has not lost that much purchase power

Weird Reality
You need some sort of reality check.
Insurance only works within a functioning system.
A collapse means there is no functioning system.
Gold/Silver IN YOUR HANDS IS THE INSURANCE.
Anything that is paper, whether is a dollar note, insurance, or title,
is as good as toilet paper.
Read up on Fiat Collapse.
you need to find a person
you need to find a person who had this so called fdic insurance and ask them if they recieved ALL there money when the bank went under.. I know a guy who got a small fraction of his money and it took 3 years to get it!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
You're right today
But maybe not tomorrow. If the currency collapses, your FDIC insurance won't get you squat. The actuaries' premium calculations can't accommodate for that eventuality.
