Republicans warn about Ron Paul supporters crashing caucuses

0 votes

Missouri Republicans hold county and local caucuses Saturday - and party leadership is warning about rumors regarding followers of former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Rumors are the Paul followers plan to flood the caucuses and will try to overturn the already established rules regarding how Missouri's delegation will vote at the National Convention in St. Paul this summer. Missouri Republican Party Executive Director Jared Craighead says this is only a rumor, but it's important to get out the word that Missouri's delegates are committed to John McCain.

Craighead says it's unfortunate that there appears to be a campaign underway to give misinformation to those attending caucuses that delegates elected at the congressional district level will be able to change the rules regarding the voting for the presidential nominee. Craighead makes it clear Missouri's delegates are bound to support the winner of the February 5th Presidential Primary - and that was Senator John McCain.

Tips For All Remaining Caucas / Bump

first - get hundreds and even more to attend to vote for your delegates...
second - move that all voting be done by hand counts or standing -
NOT by vocal "ayes" .... you see, this is nothing more than decibels...
determined by volume not actual numbers...ie: you can have 12 people
for an issue ... and another 10 people against an issue - and if the 10
are louder / deeper voices ... it is passing based on volume - who is
the loudest and that does not always equate to real votes.
Especially when most of these things are held in awful environments....
Cut and paste - Please share these with your groups -

That Means We Go Underground

Put on a suit and act like a McCain supporter. Say you love war and want huge government. It is to easy. This should give us insight into the other state conventions. We have to be the establishment and not outside of it. Go secret people.

I will say whatever they want to hear to get to the state then national convention.

I was told there would be no nachos

And because the Republican party refuses to give out free nachos at their convention I'm taking my business elsewhere. Perhaps to a party that will bring nachos to the table, literally.

The delegates we gave them are nothing compared to the total number. I'm running for committeman in my township, so I wanted to show that I'm at least fair and willing to work with people.

However, I will share some notes with you my friend took when we sent him on recon to the local County GOP meeting last Thursday. Someone in MO had found out about around last Monday and sent it to the GOP statewide. We were wondering what our local GOP would say at their meeting. 90% of the meeting was about stopping us. The notes are what the chairman said:

"I just got back from the St. Charles County Republican Central Committee Meeting. There was 7 committee and 4 audience members there. Here are the important minutes of the meeting.

The meeting started out saying by the chair saying how he was mad that the Democrats got an article about their caucus got a huge article about it on the front page of the suburban journals and they wouldn’t do it for the republicans. He said that the democrats had 75 people total that showed up for their caucus.

He then went into how the Ron Paul people were trying to hijack the caucus. He received calls from a large number of RP people that wanted info on the caucus and also many that didn’t want to say who they were affiliated with.

He said he went to the Ron Paul Website and saw that he had all kinds of info on the caucus and the GOP website had none…

He said not only do they want to be delegates to the convention, but they also want to amend the party platform.

He said bring everyone there that you can, Get everyone in by 10am and shut the door, don’t let any RP people in after 10am.

He said key to the election in getting the electing the caucus chairman and that the chairman runs the show. He said, we HAVE to get chair, chairmen is winner take all basically.

If we lose control of chair, you have RP stuff in your platform.

He said the 2004 caucus only had 50 people there.

He also said, they only had 30 delegates chosen so far. There is a 20% or so chance they may of suspected me of being a spy and through that in there to throw us off, but I don’t think they did.

We need to keep working to get delegates, and voters, so we can blow these guys outta the water, come on join the fun."

The chairman is the guy that came up and said they were withdrawing their slate because it was clear we had majority and he wanted to work with us. Knowing that he said the above and that he would've tried to railroad us had they got the chair, I could've shut them out and felt fine about it. However, this is politics and I would like to make some inroads with people before I start making enemies.

I'm sure someone else woud've done it different but our group of supporters there seemed to approve of it.

His Ron Paul group even came up with a great idea. They were known as the Conservative Values slate.

"lol Forgot to mention this. One of the strategies we came up with last night, much to late to implement, is since they knew we were coming we would have one of our Ron Paul supporters go to the caucus and have a Ron Paul slate, but it just be one guy, sitting all alone. Then you have the "Conservative Values" slate where everyone is signing up! That would leave the GOP scratching their heads!!"

Now, that's the way to do it!

Pass it on!

This morning's sotry about Missouri warning about Paul supporters crashing their party is still here. Now there is the report of the party results. It appears a few, (very few) McCain supporters crashed Paul's party!

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

They make it sound like we

have cooties.

McCain Supporters are Not the Enemy

A plumber came to my home yesterday to fix my faucet. He and I have been friends for 15 years. He's a good honest decent man, full of love for his wife and 5 kids, and others. And he voted for McCain in the primaries.

He simply doesn't know what you and I know. Not even close. He hasn't read the books we have, studied, and found out what's going on. How long did it take you to get where you are at? My journey started 9 years ago when a friend introduced me to Congressman Paul's writings, and I'm still learning more everyday. I used to be a typical west coast liberal democrat. And yes, I was very ignorant. But I did first learn about private ownership of the Fed about 30 years ago, so I had a starting point. How did I know that? From a patient friend who told me.

We must become better at teaching others about freedom, sound money, personal responsibility, a sensible foreign policy, civil liberties, and ending the ubiquitous corruption throughout our society.

It took me 5 years to bring my nephew on board to the Ron Paul camp, work for the campaign, and become a delegate in Colorado. When I started working on him, he was a pro-war, pro-George Bush, pro-Fox News supporter. He didn't know what he didn't know.

I suggest becoming a life-long educator. Acquire the teaching material you need, books, DVD's, a list of websites, and be patient with those who don't understand what you do.

NE Florida Delegate Selection was today

Here’s how it goes in Florida

Anyone interested in becoming a delegate was required to submit an application to the Florida Republican party during a specified date.

Each US Congressional district is allowed 3 delegates to the RNC.

Today was delegate election day.

Everyone that submitted to be a delegate was to attend the “election” of delegates.

When I arrived at 11:00 today the did role call of all of the “voters” and the delegate applicants.

The “voters” consisted of the party chairman of each county within the district, the state committee chairman and the state committee chairwoman and other party officials.

After roll call, they read the list of all who desired to be a delegate. There were about 20 names on the list. One of the names on the delegate list was Congressman John Mica, several of the names were names of the county chairmen and others that had submitted but were not present. This is an area of about 2 million people.

Those who desired to be delegates that were present were allotted two minutes to speak. About 10 applicants were there ½ of which were also voters.

After those who were there spoke they asked the non-voters to leave so the voters could vote.

After about 5 minutes the voters voted. They counted the votes and called us back in to announce the results.

The results were John Mica and two other active RP persons.

They then dismissed us again to elect the alternates. After about 5 minutes they called us back in, announced the alternated and adjourned.

In Florida, the County Republican Executive Committee chairman hold the power to select the delegates.

Unfortunately no RP applicants became delegates from NE Florida today.

"In Florida, the County

"In Florida, the County Republican Executive Committee chairman hold the power to select the delegates"....so what was the point in voting on delegates then?

The vote is for the party leaders

The party leaders select the delegates they want to select. There were several people very active in the Republican Party that attended to day that wanted to be a delegate that did not become a delegte. In fact one of the gentlemen was one of the general counsel for Reagan. He did not get selected.

This process demonstated what we need to accomplish over the next 48 months in Florida....leadership positions.

I also attended this caucus

There were around 33 people in attendance with 13 voters. It seemed to me that the delegates were already pre-selected before the meeting. It was all a show. It became apparent to me when the speaker announced at the beginning that you do not have to be in attendance to be selected. Congressman Mica was not present but got selected and the other two selected as delegates were voters.

Boone County results: We

Boone County results: We split the delegates between RP and non RP delegates. We were 5 votes short on most of the platform and rules changes we introduced. We won some and lost some but the main thing is that we got half of the delegates for our county.

This is good.

we're up in some counties. Good work!

Friends of John MCain?

Here is an email that I sent to the RNC.

Tell John McCain that his joke about bombing Iran is a disgrace to humanity.
I could never vote for a man that has the gall to laugh and joke about this important issue and then say that he will stay in Iraq for 100 hundred years.
I am a true conservative who believes in the constitution.
A vote for McCain is a vote for business as usual or worse.
If he wants to tap dance with Bush and laugh his way into office while americans and people of the world suffer, he will have to do it without my help.
Who are freinds of John McCain? I certainly am not one of them.
The best thing that the party can do is to support a candidate that can win and who supports the true republican platform and not the NWO.
There is one still standing and you want to ignore him.

Saint Louis area

the one I attended was split close to 50/50
however they got one more vote than us in voting in the chairman for
the day - and they went as fast as they could to set up their little group.
In a capsule we were suppose to split both slates evenly....
I am not sure if this happened - Advice for remaing caucas goers -
go overboard with bringing people in to vote - I mean over the top with
voters ... the GOP is trying to counter .... you have to have huge numbers.
Don't let people think that others can do the work and stay home ... everyone has to go out to these and vote. Also, have someone watch the secretary like a hawk - and anyone involved in writing down delegates names etc...I will not vote for anyone but Ron Paul - write in if needed....
the GOP is no friend of mine. (I can't see Mccain win this thing unless
it is fixed - because all RP voters won't vote for him)

Springfield (Greene county) MO

A very interesting day for sure in Springfield MO. Ron paul 72 delegates Republican party 40 delegates and probably 30 amedments to the pletform one being to unbind the delegates of Missouri. :) It got dicey a few times. At one piont they had a floor discussion and wow there was some made people on both sides. Everyone was dressed up and had no Ron Paul gear on they could not tell who we were. Ron Pauls name was not mentioned one time in the meeting. I heard several people say while standing close to them "I know there are alot of Ron Paul people here did you see the parking lot. hahaha. Last night they had on the news that the caucus was today and that Ron Paul people would not be welcomed and they should not show up. during the breaks they had I had several older folks say "this is really exiting having you here it makes it interesting" and "you guys are very orginized to have done this" and "This has never happend before" and "well I have to say today was intersting". It was a good day for Ron Paul here today. I would love to hear how KC and St. Louis did. sound off everyone.

Great job

Establishment are our enemy, I think its important not to look at Mccain supporter as our enemy. We need to get to know them and educate them for next 6 months.

Forgot to mention..that out

Forgot to mention..that out of the other elected delagates only one was a john mcinsane 100 years supporter.

former??!!!??

Missouri Republicans hold county and local caucuses Saturday - and party leadership is warning about rumors regarding followers of former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul.

WTF? My Mom and her friend saw a Ron Paul bumper sticker on my car today. The old friend asked "Who is Ron Paul?"...my mother tried to convince me that he had dropped out 2 days ago....WTF WTF? is goin on???? McCain came to my hometown of Springfield, PA yesterday....Damn these neocon supporters are pissing me off!!

Just got back from the caucus

Just got back from the caucus in Glendale, MO. About 25-30% of the 38 or so attendees were Ron Paul supporters, so we got no delegates and failed to pass any of our proposals (except for one in favor of veteran's benefits). However, for most of us, it was an education. It is clear to me that the people who run the Republican Party are not all that smart (they were clueless about some of our proposals concerning the NAU, habeas corpus, free speech zones), but I feel they were genuinely impressed with our involvement and they publicly invited us to continue to participate. The party regular who sat next to me voted with the majority (against us), but she expressed deep concern when she heard about the loss of habeas. This was a new revelation to her. I think the resistance by the other regulars was mostly based on being unfamiliar with Ron Paul's ideas. Some, I think, could be won over to our way of thinking.

I think that if we stay connected to the Republican Party, attend the meetings, express our views, vote on proposals, get to know the players, we have a very good chance to change the Republican Party into a vehicle for changing the nation.

This will be especially true after the Party gets wolloped in November.

Thank you, Justin Logan, for getting me involved.
