ATTENTION ALL WRITERS!!!!

A few days ago I posted a subject that we should all target each primary state, within the state, in order to get the word out to that state, specifically. This would help the local Ron Paul supporters gain recognition, and at the very least make the MSM pay attention - thus gaining even more coverage.

I encourage everyone to write positive, factual and persuasive emails, letters...and if you have the time and energy, research the links to phone numbers and further correspondence sources.

Here are some links to NH:

RonPaulForums.com thread

You may want to create a thread for this on RonPaulForums.com, in the "Strategies for Success" forum. I have a post there called "Ways to Promote Ron Paul" (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=28026) and I can link to your new thread from the "Email/call newspapers/radio/TV for RP coverage" item in the list. One advantage of doing this is that your thread can still get buried amongst the others, but when people go to the "Ways to Promote Ron Paul" thread (which is stickied), they can find it easily.

If you decide to do it, add a comment with a link to the "Ways to Promote Ron Paul" thread, to remind me to link to it.

To make your list look cleaner, you may also want to consider hyperlinking each item like so:

Just an idea...

My letter to David Brody of CBN

In response to http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/254051.aspx I wrote the following:

Mr. Brody,

I commend you for your interest in Ron Paul and the fact that you have recognized him for what he is, the face of an extraordinary movement in America. Even those that oppose him are awed by the size and scope of his support, as is evidenced by their posturing and their manipulation of the media.

For all the ways they try to portray him as “loony” or “kooky” and all the slurs used against him, I can really only think of one mocking phrase that would be appropriate: Captain of the Obvious. That’s all Ron Paul really is, by the way. For all those that question what political “trick,” stance, or platform has catapulted him to Rock Stardom, they miss the obvious (while Ron Paul states it). Ron Paul is merely stating facts that America already knows. That’s it. He is a teller of truths. As to why Ron Paul supporters see this as a revolution, I believe it was Orwell who said “In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

He is often asked how a less-than-tech-savvy 72 year old has managed to “harness the power of the Internet” and Ron Paul knows the answer quite well. While five or six media monopolies control the information in the off-line press, the Internet is the last bastion of true Libertarianism. It is a place where the free exchange of ideas are allowed to thrive and debate is livelier than anything seen at the staged dog and pony shows definitive of modern elections. I believe this fact has won over more democrats than even his anti-war stance. I think people on the left are beginning to realize that managed trade works just as poorly when you’re exporting sprockets as when you’re exporting ideals.

Candidates on both sides of the aisle have still yet to learn that you can’t spread goodness with the barrel of a gun. Force is a bad way to make people like you no matter what the politicians or the media, in their universal lack of wisdom, try to tell you. Americans are waking up to this. That’s why over 70% of us are against the war. It’s not that we’re unpatriotic; it’s that we’re sensible. We know our dollar is crashing, regardless of what the Federal Reserve tells us, because we see the prices going up at the supermarket. We know Iraq was invaded for oil and not for imaginary weapons of mass destruction. We also know that this war for oil was not to protect the citizens’ oil interests, as prices have soared at our pumps while profits have skyrocketed for the oil tycoons. We know that Benjamin Franklin was right when he stated “Sell not virtue to purchase wealth, nor Liberty to purchase power," or as it is often paraphrased, "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."

Americans know Fascism when we see it, as we fought it on the shores of Normandy and in the streets of Berlin. We know it was Hermann Goering, founder of the Nazi Gestapo, who stated “Why, of course, the people don't want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship… voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.” Americans are smarter than that; we know who the true patriots are. Many proud Americans gave their lives and limbs to fight words like "Freedom is about authority. Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do. You have free speech so I can be heard." That quote is 48 years more recent however. Want to know who said that one? None other than “America’s Mayor” Rudolph Giuliani.

No matter how many wish to define this country, this election, this party or the very idea of freedom, we know better. In a world in which we are told daily that liberty is unpatriotic and peace is somehow unchristian, we can see beyond the illusion. Fascism is fresh enough in our history that we recognize it when we see it. There are still enough copies of Nineteen Eighty-Four in print that we know “WAR IS PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY, IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH” are the mottos of an oligarchy, not a Constitutional Republic.

Christians know that the historical Jesus was a revolutionary figure in his time, for he preached a message of peace in a time of violence. The faithful among us are more interested in the words and ideals of Christ than the neo-conservative interpretation of them. Those words have enormous value to this day, as do the words of all who have preached peace. Those who would see Dr. Paul face the same fate as Christ, Gandhi, and Dr. King, please cast the first stone. Me? I’d much rather elect a man advocating peace, freedom and reason than persecute him.

Mr. Brody, as a man of faith that reaches a large Christian audience, I’d ask you to consider the true Christian path taken by Bernhard Lichtenberg and Clemens August Graf von Galen in Germany and Fulton J. Sheen when he denounced the Vietnam war. I would ask that candidates like Brownback, Huckabee, and Romney endorse the true Christian candidate. Just as Ron Paul calls for our troops to come home and for us as a country to come home to the founding ideals that made us a beacon of liberty, a shining city on a hill, our religious leaders should be asking the flock to come home to the true teachings of Christ, a man often referred to as the Prince of Peace.

A testament to the power of Ron Paul’s message, which he humbly and correctly points out “is not delivered by the greatest orator, but it is the greatest message ever,” is that it unites people. All people. Americans of all creeds, races, and political affiliations are flocking to simple words of truth and freedom. There are even twenty-two nations outside of ours that have meet-up groups getting together offline to talk about Ron Paul and help spread the same kind freedom movement in their own lands.

Mr. Brody, I ask you to stop observing the revolution from afar and join us. You will find many hard-working and hopeful people ready to welcome you, and every American ready to be free again, with open arms. That’s what the “love” in r3VOLution is all about, after all.

Here is my One Paragraph

Gee, I just can't get enough Ron Paul information. He wants a new foreign policy direction for the USA that stays focused solely on getting Bin Laden, ok, that I understand. He wants to go back to the Constitution, protect all our civil rights, and lower the cost of government. I would like to read more details about him.

THANKS for your dedication!

Use the Republican National Committee newspaper address tool

If you're going to do this, might as well make it easy on yourself.

The tool is here:

http://rnc.org/GetActive/WriteNewspapers.aspx

You just enter your zip code, it gives you the names of newspapers in your area. You check the ones you want, write your letter, and then you can save each letter as a Word file and print it out.

Great Idea!

Hey guys, please post up your best Letter to the Editor here for all to read.
Post up the best .....
ONE paragraph letter
Two paragraph letter
Three paragraph letter....
Four paragraph letter

Rarely do you get more than 5 sentences.... so its a challenge, but the best 5 sentences usually can make it into the paper. Two, Three, and Four paragraph letters to the editor rarely make it in...."for space reasons".... or worse yet, they edit it down "for you".

Thanks, Treg
