Daily Paul vs. Redstate
I've heard some noise that the website Red State (I won't do them the favor of linking into their site) has banned Ron Paul supporters.
Fine - leave them be. If they chose to be closed, exclusive and insular like the Republican party itself, that is their choice. Like the GOP itself, they are declining in popularity and relevance, as this Alexa data shows:
Daily Paul vs. Red State over the past year.
You'll note that a year ago, Redstate was decently popular, and the Daily Paul didn't even exist! But in a span of less than nine months, the Daily Paul has grown so fast that it has blown by Redstate, which has seen its traffic experience nothing but a slow, steady erosion. Tsk, tsk. Look at some of the other charts. As Redstate declines, the Daily Paul is entering a phase of geometric growth, mirroring Dr. Paul's own popularity.
Red State's corporate offices are in Washington, DC, and its website states:
RedState.com and its affiliated sites are the premier sites to reach out to the online conservative grassroots. The number one right of center blog read on Capitol Hill, RedState is the site on which to advertise if you want to reach the grassroots or policy makers.
Ha ha ha. That is really funny. A typical attempt at corporate spin. Here we go again with some corporation trying to pose as the "grassroots." That might have worked in the old days, but we all know what time it is now. This corporate "premier site" is getting its butt kicked by a REAL grassroots blog, run and supported by people for people.
The funniest part is their big corporate sponsor - the Discover Card! Is the runaway inflation so bad that they need to advertise a credit card to the grassroots and policy makers? Why peddle debt to the people? So they continue to feel wealthy, even as they get poorer and poorer because of flawed government and Federal Reserve policies?
Instead of trying to entrap and ensnare the grassroots in the never ending cycle of debt, why doesn't Red State work to educate them about the roots of inflation and the Federal Reserve as Dr. Paul does? Why not be inclusive, instead of exclusive? Why not welcome truth, instead of fearing it and shutting it down? Why not educate and engage instead of preach?
To the Daily Paul community and Ron Paul supporters everywhere, I say don't worry about Red State, nor waste anymore time with them. Their ways are the old ways. The trends are clear. The Ron Paul Revolution is growing, and our job is to keep building on that momentum. There are so many Americans that have not yet heard Ron Paul's message of hope. Our job is to reach them, not get hung up on a petty fight with a corporate website that has no significance in the big picture.
Thank you.

well....
I was going to be really mad at redstate but I decided they weren't worth my time.
I know that personally, I'm not good at rhetoric, I don't talk with fancy words and I probably couldn't write out all the things that stream through my head....so
Does that make me a stupid Ron Paul nutjob?
I don't think so...everyone's different. Everyone was raised different. Everyone has different issues to deal with on a day to day basis.
I guess my point is that I got really offended by some comments on redstate and truthfully...some made here by certain individuals. But I understand that if I follow the teachings of Ron Paul and if I truely believe the message then I have to just let it go.
After all...people will be people.
Peace!

search only "ron paul" -redstate
It will exclude red state from your search. These bozos are
1) Using this exclusion to hype their own pathetic website
2) Really, truly against Dr. Paul and always were
Like any disinformation campaign, they seek to disunite, distract, and disperse the troops.
The best strategy is to ignore them. This was never an important blog to begin with, IMO.
Discover Card and Red State
Wem should email Discover Card and tell them we will no longer be using their card because they advertise with Red State. Lets blow up their inbox.
A Good Red State Site
This is one I like - it is called Red State Eclectic

RS Last day
If you look at the traffic results from the last day. Since they made the "announcement" both sites traffic went up, but Daily Paul went up 10 times as much a Red State.
Good job Red State, you drove more people to a Paul friendly site. Now perhaps some of us reading that will be inspired to fight and donate more money to Ron Paul.
"I for one think you could knock that tar baby into next week.."
I have no problem avioding redstate but...
It annoys me that when I search google or Yahoo for Dr. Paul news I have to see a story about how they banned him and a few ignorant lines against his supporters as if this is a news story!

Down With Corporate Fascism
4get-about it, although it is funny, that corporate fascist so-called conservative site would have the audacity to think they are grassroots. Redstate is a waste of time as they are all babies and don't wish to have a real conversation on classical conservatism. Ron Paul Represents the Goldwater classical conservatism which they all like to claim they endorse, far from the truth.... Redstate actually endorses the Rockefeller conservatism of 1964. That is what we are up against. This is why I fight! I fight for my friends and family's children as I have none my self. So I can stand up one day and say to the next generation that I took notice and I did do something about it. Liberty will hold the argument of the day. This is 1964 all over again and its Goldwater vs. Rockefeller. They will marginalized themselves as the populace is beginning to wake up to a new hope. I am proud to be a member of this site. I am proud, once again, to be an American and I owe it to this site and Ron Paul. I was kicked off redstate three times in early spring, a life long Republican and it should have only taken me once to realize what a waste of bandwidth they are. I know where my friends are and they are here at the dailypaul. Thanks to all the patriots here we will carry the day because we are the most determined.
Just a thought..
I like most of you're post, but I wonder just who you are "fighting"? We are debating, presenting arguments, confronting lies with truth, and being advocates for freedom in general-but we are not "fighting" at the moment-unless you know something I don't and I need to dig up that rifle? Let's not cheapen that word-leave that, and other demagoguery, to RedState and Co.....let's just hope a "fight" doesn't come to us.
Like the way you are thinking though.

Boring!
I agree with leave them be. They will lose out by becoming a boring old republican talking point site with no lively discussion. Who's going to want to visit or advertise on such a site?
Didn't know them before, don't care about them now
I come here to get my Ron Paul freedom fix!
Rock on guys!
fyi
redstate.com was (if I remember correctly) spun off as part of their
move to become a 527. But the stats analysis goes hand in hand
with the decline in a) civility and b) diversity on redstate.com Its become
the echo chamber of about 10-20 regulars (some who are quite immature).
But it is their place so if they get off on being jerkoffs, just let them.
Fanning the flames is a waste of time with them just as it is with the Kosacks.

Not a Neocon
I have Google Alerts for Ron Paul news. I usually read both the good and bad, that is how I ended up at Redstate. I read a few of their articles before I became completely disgusted, signed up as "Not a Neocon" and told them Neocons were not real Republicans or conservatives. I think they banned me but I don't care. That is one web site I will not be returning to, life is too short.
I just received a Google news alert that they have a Ron Paul article today, but when I see it's on Redstate, I don't go there.
I will not give them traffic or my time.
amen
we should all do the same.
If
If you take Freedom for granted, you will lose it. If you fight for Freedom, you have it forever. Pick and choose your battles and fight them well. This battle with Redstate, which sounds kind of communistic to me, is not even a battle, they are not worthy of it. If you read all the comments to this posting , even King GW can understand this a a ploy to get "net" ratings up, because ever Tom, Dick and Ron Pauler will click over to their site to see whats going on. Don't fall in that trap, We The People got far more bigger fish to fry, like at the VFW's friday nights all you can eat catfish fry. So my fellow Americans, roll up those sleeves and lets get'r done.
Who cares.. look at thier traffic....
When the daily paul exceeds them, and we are not even close to our maximum potential visitors, it shows they suck.. stop talking about them and stop giving them traffic.....

What's the difference between Red State and The Titanic?
.
The Titanic had a band.

Let them wallow in the mire if they so choose.

Like the Idaho values alliance poll yesterday, maybe we should support Tom Tancredo on Red State.. then they will have to ban Tancredo supporters too. :)
They are basically everything that is wrong with the Republican party. There is a lot more dirt out there on Red State if you only need to look. http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/016359.html
They ran a fund raiser a few weeks ago for Eric Eriksson's campaign and failed to raise $4,500 in a week.. too sad.
Great idea
That was classic ;)
jaymur
It's a PRO-WAR website. Not surprised they want to suppress discussion of the only anti-war GOP candidate, one of 3 of all that are running from either party.
By the way thisnovember5th.com at about 8000 pledges of $100 so far.
Almost $1M in 1 day would be great but there are still 2 weeks to go.
There was no discussion
There was no debate going on. The RP people would just state conclusions as if they were fact. I didn't see any real arguments.
I find that hard to believe...
Do you have any examples/URLs of conversations to support your, uh, conclusion?? Forgive me for saying this, but you seem to have stated it as if it were a fact...
JMR
That's really clever
They deleted it and I don't usually save random webpages about nothing
They have not...
deleted the comments, only diarys posted after the ban are redacted, the comments remain.
I noticed you said "it", as in one. I don't think one is enough evidence to prove your point anyway.
Tell us..What is your redstate screen name?
Give me liberty....

"Resistance need not be violent, but the civil disobedience that might be required involves confrontation with the state and invites possible imprisonment." - Ron Paul
I'll admit...
I don't visit "Redstate" often, but I've seen some real immaturity on "Newsbusters," a similar (but more-popular) site. Anyway, it's not that I'm all that clever, it's just that you illustrated your own point, but accidentally. :)
JMR
I know. You are right. I have no examples :)
I'm trying to be more generic than just RedState. We email bomb almost every reporter on the planet.
