Did you see TV? Do you see how strong Americans are. We will overcome.

Today David Paterson, a 100% blind, African American was sworn in as Governor of New York.
His speech was so moving many cried, and he had a standing ovation.
Oh, Yes. We understand how it happened. Politics as usual.
But you know, “Only in America”.
When he left, the cameras followed him;
For you and me it would be blundering in a totally dark room in the middle of the night in a strange location.
I am in awe!
But also when I think what he has done to be there, I know courage.
We Ron Paul supporters must realize we also must have courage. Americans of any color, religion, race or political party are courageous. We will, in the end, win!

We should no longer believe there is a right wing or a left wing.
There are not just two political parties.
We know there is no difference between the two.

We know there are Americans and patriots who care nothing for the government, but care for the freedoms of all Americans.
All of you and little old me.
Whatever your color, religion, race or political party.
Only these people won the Revolutionary War.

With Ron Paul and our Grass Roots;
Hope is on it’s way!

I Am So Happy I Could Cry......

We Shall Overcome!!!!!! Jeez what a bunch of dumbshits some of you dailypaulers are. This guys voting record on the second amendment should automatically disqualify him from holding any public office, and if in June the Supreme Court should vote against us on the 2nd we should storm the supreme court with numbers unimaginable and have an old fashioned tar and
feathering. That will get their damned attention.

From a 2 second search on votesmart

2004,2002,2000,1998 Based on lifetime voting records on gun issues and the results of a questionnaire sent to all state legislative candidates in various years, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund assigned Governor Paterson a grade of F (with grades ranging from a high of A+ to a low of F)

I've heard he has some a really wacky voting history, but I don't have time to look it up right now.

removed because it was in the wrong place.

Take a look at Drudge today

New Gov has already admitted to an affair, etc. These guys are all bought and paid for.

what

what does having an affair have to do with being bought and paid for

Has to do with keeping vows

People who have not kept a vow to be faithful to a spouse probably won't be able to keep a vow to uphold and obey the constitution.

that is your opinion

Keeping the marriage oath for a lifetime can be an infinitely more difficult thing to do...for any number of reasons. I don't see the direct correlation, the constitution does not change but people do. I'd bet that the number of sham "healthy" marriages publicly propped up for political/public relations reasons is quite high. Personally, I'd rather hear honesty from my politicians.

That his wife is standing there on that day after all they have been through, MAY say more about their decent humanity than any "untainted" married couple standing up there, looking just right...but living a lie. In any event, it would be foolish not to both hope and demand that he fulfill his public oath. We are watching, Mr. Paterson...excellent start!

Heal me!!!

You sound like you are in a position to hurl stones, which I will infer means you are perfect like Jesus? Please, heal me. I am human, and I have made huge blunders in life.
I do not like this clown, I do not like the way that whole mess is playing out. However, expecting perfect people in politics is how we wound up with a bunch of liars, adept at covering their mistakes and inept at admitting mistakes.

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

He just wanted to

get it out of the way. Mind you, it's "affairs". The wife did it, too. So, makes them even. It is one big happy.

How will he know what he will be signing? His dog cannot help him. So he must rely on SOMEONE...

Taomaster

I would not prejudge how reliant he will be, Taomaster

Bush can see, doesn't mean he reads.

To quote your great book:
Without opening your door,
you can open your heart to the world.
Without looking out your window,
you can see the essence of the Tao.

The more you know,
the less you understand.

The Master arrives without leaving,
sees the light without looking,
achieves without doing a thing.

Black, blind man as Governor

Real fashionable (as Dirty Harry would say). If he were gay, we'd have a three-fer.

does the phrase...

"Blind leading the blind..."...ring in anyones ears?

nothing against the man personally...but it seems strange to me that a man with a physical handicap is running the most powerful state in the u.s.. It used to be that the best of the best (both physically and mentally) became our leadership.

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

That's harsh. Why not just

That's harsh. Why not just wish for 10,000 B.C. Then we can all make a circle of stones and fight for the women. Leave those with birth defects on the hill to die of exposure...

the Truth is harsh sometimes...

it's not prejudice...just common sense. who would be more socialistic that a handicap person who has to count on other people to do anything? how would this blind governor have any clue what it is like to make it on his own like so many people have, to start businesses, farms, or work every weekend building your own house, to make your own life better? how would he have any clue about people in this country that have done and are doing just that to make life better for themselves and for the whole country?

2Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

I guess

sometimes "common sense" is the sense of the common.

I don't know who David Paterson is.

Is he one of us or one of them?
