We need...

... a new Supreme Court with 50 judges each one chosen by State legislatures that can be recalled at will be each State (like Senators were originally chosen). That way the citizens of each State can put more direct local pressure if one of the judges turns out to be a "bad apple".

Right now we have "gods-for-life" chosen by the Prez....

they have it on cnn.com too

I've heard one question from Kennedy and he seems to be

bearing down on Dellinger, who is arguing the case for D.C. That was good to see. Perhaps there is some hope. Kennedy seems to be positioned to be the swing vote, one way or the other.

Thanks!

I turned it on.

So...

Everything is in each justice's interpretation. While the amendment states militia and people, the decision may come from the states. The argument is the ban is absolute - which is unconstitutional. I am unsophisticated so this is just how I interpret it. Sadly, and I hope I'm wrong, those justices will uphold the DC ban. The way they dissect and perhaps distort the 2nd amendment is indicative of siding with the ban.

Listening to some idiot now

A justice is searching for an answer to say bans on handguns are "reasonable". He is basically saying the reason for the right is to maintain a citizen army, so it can be restricted for other purposes. I don't know which ass this is but he sucks.

The preamble to the 2nd amendment doesn't effect that fact that the right says "shall not be infringed". That means no infringement for any reason. I hope he is in the minority in this case.

I just tuned in. Has anyone heard Kennedy ask any

questions, and if so, did you get any "read" on where he might be leaning?

I'm listening now... I

I'm listening now... I know it's early and the ruling won't come for a while.. but the Justices are giving the attorney some really difficult questions about the 2nd amendment and just based on my opinion it sounds as if the Justices also believe that the 'right to bear arms' is a right that is extended to everyone...

I

I bought citi at 18 last week..timing is everything

Now you can't even keep your

Now you can't even keep your own lies straight. Before it was a year ago that you bought it. Jeez man. If you are going to be a troll, at least TRY to be a smart one BWAHAHAHA You are almost as bad as McCain with keeping up with your lies.

...which means you are

...which means you are directly supporting the very thing Ron Paul and the rest of us are fighting against. So why are you here? What parts of Ron Paul's platform do you agree with and why do you support him? Be specific.

I've been listening to the

I've been listening to the CSPAN program and they reported that this case is only about the DC law of "forbidding" the owning of hand guns. If you state allows handguns or any other type of firearm, anything decided in this decision has nothing to do with you or your state. Nor will this case decide if the 2nd amendment is a "right" or not. In fact the reporter was saying that a decision won't be handed down until late June. So, I clicked off. I live in NY and handguns, as well as rifles are allowed, with permits and background checks. You can even get permits in NY for concealed weapons. So this court ruling won't effect me.

you couldn't be more wrong.

you couldn't be more wrong. This is a supreme court case ruling on the meaning of the second amendment. It affects the entire nation.

The case derives from the DC ruling though.

Every major supreme court case derives from a smaller case.

Uh-oh

If the Supreme Court is ruling on it, you better believe it applies to you. I believe we're talking about setting legal precedent. Just because your state has laws allowing you to keep a gun doesn't mean they couldn't change that in the future. We don't want any Supreme Court ruling that implies the right to keep and bear arms to law abiding citizens can be removed.

Is this the actual court proceedings?

Or is it just people discussing it on television? I am sorry, I haven't had television for more than a dozen years. I don't know anything about Cspan, or any television.

C-SPAN: watch & /or listen on your computer

1-google your way to cspan website,
2-follow directions for putting player on your computer.
2-watch the proceedings, events & speakers of your choice.
*i suggest you start with morning show "washington journal". its on from 7am to 10amET - 7 days a week. guests & callers are real, UNscreened, and very knowledgable at times, too.
and YES,
this IS actual proceedings-cspan (unlike the rest of the MSM's) does NOT intervene; no views or opinions or discussion participation by moderators.
AND
proceedings, events & shows are live/rebroadcast live - no editing.

This is just Q&A with a reporter who

has covered the Supreme Courts. They said that the court would hear the case at 10 and arguments would last 1 hr 15 min. and they said they would play the arguments when they're done.

* edit: sounds like I got the times wrong. But we will have audio when it starts.
