This is for those of you that have doubted my posts about the delegate process
Have you read the papers?

Ron Paul wins here where it counts......GOP hopeful takes county convention despite defeats in primary.....It appears that solid strategy and a well-organized grassroots campaign put Ron Paul on top at the Whatcom County Republican Party convention this weekend. While there are no hard figures yet, county GOP Chairman Chet Dow said it appears that Paul received the majority of delegates who will be sent to the summer state convention in Spokane. From there, delegates will be selected for the national convention.
How did that happen when Paul had neither the most delegates from the county caucuses nor the primary in February?
“One word: organization,” Dow said.
Ron Paul backers succeed in guerrilla takeover of some GOP caucuses
Never before had St. Charles County Republican Party Chairman Jon Bennett received so many queries about where this year's party caucus was to be held. And Bennett didn't recognize most of the callers.
On Saturday, Bennett learned why. Dozens of avid supporters of Ron Paul, a Texas congressman who is running a renegade quest for the presidential nomination, staged a political guerrilla attack. At that caucus at St. Peters City Hall — as well as others across the state — party regulars like Bennett were overwhelmed.
The result: Paul's supporters predict they have snagged roughly a third of the 2,137 state Republican delegates. Those delegates will determine the state GOP platform this spring and help select the presidential delegates to the national Republican presidential convention in Minneapolis in September.
Ron Paul supporters control Republican county conventions
A Ron Paul volunteer and organizer in Kansas City confirms that the Jackson County Republican caucus elected a nearly-complete slate of Paul delegates at its convention Saturday.
Larry Holland says the caucus elected more than 170 Paul delegates out of an estimated 187 available. Those delegates will eventually, directly and indirectly, pick delegates to the Republican National Convention.

Kentucky Delegates
We had 18/24 delegates in my county going to the state convention from our meetup goup. There is a feeling of hope among us here.
We can all say what needs to be done, but who here lead by example today?

Yes!!
Thanks for posting this. This is great news, and it IS happening all over the country. We hope to do the same in Texas counties at the end of the month!
I'm somewhat glad the msm is not covering this much, because surprise can be an advantage.

Harder to Do Going Forward
As word of this leaks out, the opposition will be more organized.
It is critically important that we spread the word of these successes to the Meet-ups in our areas so that they see why it is so critical to become delegates.
If your teams have not been staying in touch, they may have given up. Give them the good news and turn them out.

I agree but if we do not
I agree but if we do not become delegates in the time frame set up by the states now we could be locked out but so will everyone else.
We need this to spread like wildfire NOW!

This Is Great But
All of this hoorah about going to the state conventions, but how do we secure not getting voted out of the National Convention. Are we tooting our own horn prematurely? Are you a premature tooter?
if your not a delegate... in
if your not a delegate... in my humble opinion... you ain't sh%t... becoming a delegate is where rubber meets the road.. I am a county, congressional and state delegate... if you are not on the inside of this you won't understand what is happening.. Steve is exactly right.. good things are happening.. contact your local gop and tell them you want to become a delegate at any level if there are openings and I know there are! the straw poll vote that gave mccandyass his supposide number of delegates to win the nomination is bold face lies! YOU MUST GET INVOLVED IN THE LOCAL GOP... delegate votes are the only votes that count..

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
It
it''s over for 08 son...third party or new candidate to promote the cause in the future..only two rational choices
Nope
It's not over until the '08 republican nominee is officially selected at the Republican National Convention, which is still about five months away.
Who tooted?
Are you a delegate or active in anyway in your own local GOP? If you were you would not only toot but you would share your story with others who would then be moved by your story and would become delegates themselves.
This may not get us a Ron Paul election for 08' but people are now understanding what needs to happen for there to be a "Ron Paul President" elected in 2012. (not to mention "Ron Paul" congressmen/women) Not only that, and maybe more importantly, our lowly 6% getting INVOLVED can and will change the GOP platform and can return the GOP to its roots. As the Neocons figure out what we are doing they will try and increase the numbers of people who show up for GOP meetings both local and at state levels. Unfortunately the sheep who listen to them won't be active like we are/can. If they do show up then we can spread the word of, not Ron Paul, but of a "New Guard" that forces the return to Constitutional principles. That is what the movement is about, but it took Ron Paul to wake up the 6% of people that need to be active at all levels.
Kind of like "Back to the Future", only starring us and it is "Forward to the Past".
It's not about tooting horns, it's about sharing the experiences of actually making a difference in your local GOP. We get enough local GOP support, then the state GOP is next, and then National GOP. Get the picture?
People also said this kind
People also said this kind of thing when i was urging people to become delegates.
Looks to me like we are winning delegates all over the country.

My North Carolina County Convention
I wont say which county but it was held recently and we took over as well. Half the people that showed up were ron paul supporters from the meetup. I almost didn't even go but I did. I was the only one to show up from my district so I became the Republican Party district chairman for my district. I automatically get to go to the state convention in May. Expect good things from NC. We are well organized. Since not many people showed up everyone was allowed to go to the next stage of the delegate process. Many districts had no one to show up.
Wilmington NC LOVES Dr. Paul

my favorite line from the one article:

NO
I was a delegate to a national convention long ago and found out it isn't worth it because everything is decided in a smoke filled back room
Gee
So you have to hang out here again so you can get some attention? What happened did your mommy run out of steaks to tie around your neck? I guess even the dogs won't play with you now.
BTW. My favorite line of the article?
St. Louis city Republican chair Judy Zakibe gave credit where it was due. "Our people didn't come out," Zakibe said. "That's what cost us."
And the train rolls on!!
hi betterhalf
long time no see.
Why are you even here?
We have a job to do here- let us do it. You dont see ME kicking the plug to the Slurpee machine out from the wall while YOURE trying to work do you? Clearly if you honestly felt the way you say you do youd go back to whatever it is that you should be doing. I see fear- if you were honestly dicouraged youd go away. You are "the voice of reason". You went through all of the trouble to get that screenname to tell us we dont have a chance. That is a clear sign that your side feels the need to log some MAJOR disinformation hrs on this site. THAT is encouraging to me, If what you say is true- then as a "voice of reason" you would be spending your time doing anti Hilary/ Obama posts on their sites. You're feeling a little heat atm arent you? : )
Steve - Nice job on the radio last night!
Don't sweat the little stuff, I thought you did an excellent job.
I commented on one of your posts several weeks ago about how the RP campaign could directly fund the efforts of people wanting to become delegates.
Basically you work in teams of two or more where one person serves as a paid campaign worker and receives funding from HQ to make for a more full time/robust effort. Another team member remains a volounteer and become the actual delegate.
I'm just thinking about how much more effective this would be in using the campiagn funds as opposed to the traditional paradigm of spending millions to recruit volounteers. Doable?
