Obama - calls for Firing Imus...over racial slur...ABC News
Submitted by mefleabyte on Wed, 03/19/2008 - 15:10
One year ago ---''In an interview with ABC News Wednesday afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., called for the firing of talk radio host Don Imus. Obama said he would never again appear on Imus' show, which is broadcast on CBS Radio and MSNBC television....''
Obama defends his black minister-Jeremiah Wright...and states he will not end affiliation with Wright or the church.
Yet calls for firing of Imus?

O.k.
so what is the story about the pledge with Obama?
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
I don't see what the big deal is
I heard what his pastor said and I agree with him.
G-D America for thinking she is G-D of the world, we are under a curse. He just spoke un inconvenient truth.
And I'm a WASP.
What Imus said was racist, "nappy headed" is racist.
What Obama's pastor said was ugly truth that white people don't want to hear. 1-8 blacks in prison. That is a fact.
The drug war is racist, that is a fact.
I'm more likely to vote for Obama in November after this and hearing his speech. I certainly won't vote for McCain.

What we learn from that
What we learn from that video is that Obama's achilles heel (that Obama wants to hide) is this CFR membership...
That means we should spread that fact as far and wide as we can--so folks will know O-bomb-a is not who he pretends to be.
More...workin' that race
More...workin' that race card...
"Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois today urged hundreds of blacks not to vote along racial lines next week in Maryland's Senate race. Obama, the only black U.S. senator, came to the state to rally support for Democratic Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, who is white. Cardin's Republican opponent, Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele, is the first black candidate ever elected statewide and has been courting black Democrats."--Associated Press, Nov. 3
CONTRAST...
"The nation's only black senator, Barack Obama, D-Ill., asked voters at two black churches and at a Nashville rally to elect [Harold] Ford, a Democrat who is trying to become the first black senator from the South in more than 100 years. 'I know that all of you are going to work the next couple of days to make sure it happens, because I'm feeling lonely in Washington,' Obama said at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 'I need my dear friend to join me.' "--Associated Press, Nov. 5

I'm against the Race Card
I'm against the Race Card and political correctness, but I can also see a "Let's Elect Hillary" campaign strategy in the current racial brouhaha.
Remember Bill Clinton's "sister Souljah speech"? It's useful to triangulate
on race a little bit--if you're a "good Democrat".
The establishment and the media would most prefer for the two "choices" in November to be between McCain and Hillary.
SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA

whoa people.... Obama's
whoa people.... Obama's minister is saying things that are pretty much in line with Paul's message, so why are we attacking them?
He criticized the war on drugs for the same reasons Ron Paul has.... look how it's made racial tensions worse and how unfair and divided it is! He criticized the war for the same reasons as Paul and Dr. Martin Luther King. He criticized the foreign policy, and policing the world.
Why the hell should we be celebrating America's policies when frankly they suck? We kill people, and police the world as if we think we're gods, and we say God bless us? What part of what we do in this world is worthy of being blessed?
Now, the solution is not go off and be angry, but change those policies...
a lot of 'black' churches (please excuse the term, I don't mean offense, I just don't know what else to call them), are actually very conservative. We should be working to embrace these people who have the same ideas as us and make our ranks stronger and our revolution more successful.
This is what I'm saying
I didn't hear a whole lot that Rev. Wright said that I didn't agree with.
Have to Defend A Voice
.....aside from any "white bashing" A Voice is right....many of the things O'Bama's minister said are Ron Paul's platform. For instance, he said:
"America is still the No. 1 killer in the world. … We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional killers." At another time, "We started the AIDS virus. … We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty." The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied."
In a 2003 sermon, reported yesterday, Wright encouraged blacks to damn America in God's name and blamed the U.S. for provoking the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by dropping nuclear weapons on Japan in World War II and supporting Israel since 1947.
Well, *most* of that is true. But here are two issues that bother me more:
1. Ron Paul got smeared by association in a similar manner. O'Bama is not responsible for what his preacher (or ex-preacher) said any more than Ron Paul was responsible by association.
2. I'd be much more concerned about McCain's "spiritual advisor" who has declared a holy war of Christians vs. Islam. That did not get nearly as much publicity and, in my books, is much worse. Especially since McCain picked that guy out special.
BUT MY MAIN ISSUE is that the old media chooses to fill voters heads with this trivia while the country is falling apart and the economy is in shreds. Only Ron Paul can address the *real* problems, but he would also address this racial trivia by trying to get the Bill of Rights across to people...Only a strickly adhered to Bill of Rights and Constitution can put to rest racial issues once and for all. All men and women are equal...equal rights... Female or Black President should have little meaning. I, personally, take issue with O'Bama being *black* as he is also *white.* To me, for him to run on being black is racial.
fonta
Running as 'black' when he
Running as 'black' when he is also 'white' you say is racial.
You many have a point..especially, since Obama throws his white grandma 'under the bus' indicating she is a 'racist' in his 'unity' speech yesterday.
strange...'avoiceofreason'
strange...'avoiceofreason' apologizes for using the word 'black' in his post (as he perceives that might be bad) but he then gives Jeremiah Wright a pass on all the 'white bashing' that Wright is documented to be doing....while at the same time, he falsely claims Wright's and Paul's 'policies' are the same.
Strange indeed.
But....
he's been touting this minister to prove his religious backrgound. The pastor seems to be blaming all americans for rascism against his people. And Obama is distancing himself from himself from this pastor so he must have interpreted his sermons as racial. If nothing else obama is being a big hypocrite by turning his back on his 20 year spiritual advisor.Where are his fancy words now. As usual he talks alot and has nothing real to say! I can't stand to see how he seems to have so many young people under some kinda spell. CREEPY
Wow
Okay, I agree with you on the War on Drugs part, BUT...Obama's pastor has said some pretty racist things, I don't think those are part of R.P.'s platform.
Hi, I like Macs and Ron Paul.
I agree with you^
Once you are able to take away color and racial stereo typing, you can actually here what people are saying.
I dont really think Obama has flip flopped on his beliefs, he is just learning to accomodate everyone it will take to possibly become elected.
Thinking once he is in, then maybe he can make a difference. But he will soon learn that the people who get you elected, are the people who control you once your in.
Only Ron Paul has not been swayed due to his integrity to say NO!
I think whoever gets in will have no option at ending the war, because we are there to take their oil. While we are there, lets blow some stuff up and award contracts to the people who helped get them elected.
Only Ron Paul would bring the troops home, open Prudhoe Bay, Alaska lower the price of oil and stabilize the Dollar. It could literally be done overnight. But people with evil convictions and living for the now are in control.
Its our job to overthrow the established status quo politicains. With RP in the Casa Blanca its a slam dunk. If not, it will take a great suffering of the people to wake up and join us.
is that considered
is that considered Flip-Flopping?

well....
thats what happens when you give special protection(s) to certain "groups" of people. They can say or do as they please, but you better hold your peace or you'll be called racist, perjudice, or a hater... with government to back them up.
With Obama's duplicity on
With Obama's duplicity on Imus vs. Jeremiah Wright--differing standards...well...

it goes. No sense to anything anymore.
