Could somebody tell me how these wins are adding up (keep bumped)

OK, I've heard about all of the wins that Ron Paul is having in local precinct conventions, and county conventions etc. But I want to know how these wins are going to help Ron Paul get delegates to the national convention. And if these wins are somehow hurting McCain.
And one more thing, will these wins matter if the convention isn't brokered (which it will probably not happen)
