I used to go to a bank and at night they dropped of store deposits. We joked how easy it would be to take it. Theres no fence, 1 cam, high bushes to hide in and barely any lights. Two months later the bushes are removed high fences put up. Flood lights surround the place and at least 8 visible cameras. Nope no eaves dropping here.

It's called my private life that noone has a right to eaves drop on. Also, it's faulty because it makes the assumption that people don't use information about non-criminal acts to besmirch people on a regular basis. "isn't it true that you enjoy looking at pornography"..."oh.. he's obviously a degenerate..". And just because something seems insignificant today, doesn't mean tomorrow it won't be made illegal and now you're a criminal. Or that information can't be compounded and made to paint a compromising picture of your lifestyle and actions.
The argument of 'there aren't enough people to listen to everyone' also misses the point. The fact that government CAN do it is every reason to know that they WILL do it. You're just playing the odds game. There's never been a law that expands power that hasn't been exercised. In reality I agree that the odds that any one single person will be the target of some kind of wire-tapping is pretty low, but principles aren't based off of quantity or likelihood.
