Congressman Ron Paul to Speak at Nevada State
Republican Convention

Republican congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul has accepted an invitation from the Nevada Republican Party to be a keynote speaker at the Nevada Republican State Convention on April 26th. The Texas congressman came in second place in the presidential preference poll held on January 19th in Nevada, and continues to enjoy fervent support among many Republicans in the Silver State.
“Dr. Paul’s visit to the Nevada Republican Party State Convention reflects Dr. Paul’s continued commitment to the presidential race and to the traditional conservative movement in the Republican Party,” said Jennifer Terhune, Nevada communications coordinator for the Ron Paul campaign. “Throughout this election cycle, Dr. Paul has recognized the important role Nevada can play in the selection of a presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention in September.”
The Nevada Republican Party State Convention will be held on Saturday, April 26th, in the Tuscany Ballroom at the Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno. Guests and media are welcome to attend.

The rights of GOP delegates and alternates
For those who've not read Dr. Steve Parent's vital news on 'LOOK AT HOW WE ARE WINNING THE NOMINATION WITH THE DELEGATE PROCESS EXPLAINED IN DEPTH HERE : A MUST READ FOR ALL' here are some key data about voting at the national convention due in September.
Out of the 2,380 delegates sent to Minneapolis St. Paul in September-
-463 delegates are bound all the way through the convention some of those 463 are Ron Pauls people.
- 565 delegates will be bound through one ballot. That is, they have to follow the results of the state election on the first ballot. After that, if no candidate has a majority of delegates, they are free to vote as they please and Mccain will not receive over 50% on the first ballot.
- 383 will be bound through two ballots then they are free to vote for whom they wish.
- 318 will be bound through three ballots then they are free to vote for whom they wish.
As Dr. Steve Parent adds:
Bottom line is less than 1/2 of the delegates are bound by state party rules. Now do you see how we can win this thing?
From the comments on Dr. Parent's Topic, many of us are still dubious or even skeptical. Given Ron Paul's own public comments, this is to be expected. However delegates and alternates going to St. Paul in September must know their rights. Such rights extend beyond the party and state legislations that may be invoked, particularly by those already saying John McCain is 'annointed' and can legitimately count on all a state's electoral votes [as has been claimed for Missouri after its recent polls chose Ron Paul candidates as delegates.
The ultimate right likely to be needed [& not just by delegates already supporting Ron Paul] is the use of secret ballots. Hopefully some of those involved in organizing the Nevada convention will alert Ron Paul to this post and the above article.
