Simple Answer to Religion and Racism
Religion: I lived my years saying my prayers and doing my best to follow the teachings of the bible. At the age of 23 I read a book about three mathematicians/astronomers ; Newton, Copernicus and Galileo. What caught my attention, was that Galilei Galileo was put under house arrest by the church and government for discovering and presenting that the earth wasn't the center of all and that the earth revolved around the sun. This was against everything that Aristotle was preaching and was religiously followed by the Church as the true gospel. It appears the church restricted this proven fact if it went against the preaching of the church.
Racism: We all came from the same mother in Africa 86k ago. This has been proven based on mitochondrial dna. This kind of factual information has also been suppressed by the church.
Based on those two true proven facts, there's very little room for argument between Religion and Racism.
Life is good.
As a Christian
I believe for one to experience Jesus Christ as their savior, it doesn't take a church, a specific sect of a religion, etc...
For ex. Paul in the Bible was killing Christians when he encountered Jesus.
To know or believe in God is a personal issue that I can't make for anyone. All I can do as a believer, is tell people about my relationship with God.
I can't force you to believe, nor is God.
I will tell people it takes a leap of faith, to believe in the supernatural, especially when were taught from birth to view everything in this world through the lenses of the material realm/diminsions.

Just like the 9/11 truthers - what incentive do any of these people have to TELL LIES???
Do NOT NOT support the truly Christian candidates because you think God is some 'cosmic kill-joy' who wants to take away your beer, cigarettes, gambling, Bubba the love sponge, and pornography!!!
God gave us this nation, AND our freedom - but we've taken it too far - and our young people are growing up morally bankrupt!
I don't want to pass laws to FORBID behaviors BY FORCE - I think we ought to ELECT representatives to stand in the GAP between the government and the governed to give them an opportunity to change the direction of our collective morality away from foolish & destructive behaviors - so we STOP hurting our youths.
Again - WHO DO YOU TRUST in Government!!!
Do you think I am a liar??? That I wouldn't cast votes in the legislature to STOP them from further encroaching on your liberties!
We really need to HATE these harmful behaviors & attitudes - because God hates them - and we have decades of overwhelming evidence our society is collapsing because of compromise and opportunistic votes of expediency(by unscrupulous men for mere temporary financial gain).
God's patience with this nation will run out at some point - and you have a black & white choice RIGHT NOW - either SUPPORT candidates who know our nation's history behind our separation - or ELECT the same-old, same-old - and look back AFTER you've lost ALL your money and your FREEDOM and say "you know, I knew a guy once who knew.....but I didn't think.....and I just voted for the lesser of two evils again(or didn't vote AT ALL)"
Not voting is still a vote!

Last night about Babylon
I am not a religious person.
I have been fascinated about what I have learned about Iraq and Babylon in the past couple months. I saw a scripture last night about it and I have been pondering this thought about something I just posted on my forum.
Who in their right mind would want to rebuild Babylon? I was reading Jeremiah51:36 to 51:52.
i was watrching a program with a Bible scholar a few months back and was amazed by what he said about Babylon being built up and then this scripture says "We are disgraced, for we have been insulted and shame covers our faces, because foreigners have entered the holy place of the Lord's house."
But days are coming declare the Lord, when I will punish her idols, and throughout her land athe wounded will groan. Even if Babylon reaches the sky and fortifies her lofty stronghold, I will send destroyers against her," declares the Lord.
amazing that someone could be a Christian, as George W. Bush claims he is and we are currently in contracts for TEN more years to rebuild IRAQ, Babylon. WOW!

You would like Chuck Baldwin's correct interpetation of Romans 13 for America.
In America, "the ruler", "the law of the land", is not the next President, it's not the next PC fad in America, not a king, nor a dictator, it's the Constitution. Even the President has to follow the laws of the land.
This is the "ruler" that God has inspired in the hearts of our forefathers, a government ruled by the people, for the people with certain god-given rights that no man can give or take away, unless he pronounce to all mankind that he is a tyrannt.
We all know what happened to tyrannts throughout history.

and then
We the people made the minority more important. It started in the 1940's in our law books. We said that is one person became offended by walking by and seeing the Ten Commandments or the Christmas lights in an airport we have to favorthe minority. The 6% that believe there is nothing more, no higher power at all. We passed laws protecting that minority and it grows on. A Jewish man did not like seeing Christmas lights in the airport and he sued the owner and he won.
If you do not like celebrating Christmas, then you can celebrate something else, that is FREEDOM, and it is a God-given right.
The people left Great Britain for fear of getting there head removed...hail Cezaer....do we now have to start saying Hail BUSH? hmmm?
just a thought. or two.

That vision of a Constitutional Republic lasted less than a hundred years, died in Lincoln's administration, and it has been rotting away to nothing ever since. But it's never too late for a good Resurrection. Happy Easter to you too.

are you an atheist
Do you really believe there is nothing else? Have you had a child?
Just checking. Have you seen Lake Tahoe, Niagra falls, or the way the brain can redevelope after a stroke?
No attack, just curious. I see it this way. the Bible, the Native American, the Aboriginal, many tribes of Africa, Budhism, all have so much in common. I say there are many ways to get to Disneyland.
If there is a GOD, higher power, I believe this is more proof because all these nations, tribes have so much in common, burning sage, insense, sweet grass, and candles to bless things, that was one common factor and we did not have the internet. The cross another common factor and we had no planes, phone, or t.v. to communicate that. If you listen to the name they called GOD they almost always have the AH sound. Tunkashela, Budha, God, Alla. Just another amazing thing that brings the spiritualities together. there is much more. I think that is a reason to not deny that we have a higher power, called by many names, but they all have the same sound.
It is actually a pretty amazing thing when you think about it that way. How did all these different people from all over the world have so much in common in regards to GOD? It could not truly be if it weren't so, yes there are differences, but we spend to much time on that.
Atheist, yes. Anti-religious, no.
Sure, I'm an atheist. Ever since I learned the awful truth about Santa Claus. But I've grown past the insecure stage where I have to put down other people's religions to feel confident of my own judgment. People can't function without a moral code of some kind, and if yours happens to derive from the tried-and-true basis of "It's right (or wrong) because God said so, right here in the Holy Book," that's fine with me, so long as your Holy Book doesn't prescribe burning heretics at the stake, or otherwise sanction genocide.

That's why, imo, Christians shouldn't teach the Santa Story
....Because first of all it's a lie. And since it's connected to Christmas in western culture, children who later find out the truth often assosiate that disappointment with Christianity.
To be honest, I think the celebration of Christmas is fine, as long as it also is done in truth. Nowhere in the Bible does it say Christ was born Dec 25.
About Heretics: One of the largest genocides that occurred in human history was done by the political/religious power called Papal Rome. This, over several centuries, with full backing of the popes. And many of the victims and specific targets of Rome were Christians who did not bow to mother church and her doctrines. They were seen as the biggest threat, not atheists.
Under this backdrop was America founded. They knew a merger of State/Religion could turn into the evil nightmare, such as it did under Rome. America's constitution was to protect civil liberties, not *enforce* *how* and *what* people worship and believe.
Jesus - central figure to the Bible and faith - nowhere pushed His beleifs on anyone, much less torture and kill them for simply differing. The "holy book" sanctions no such actions. Worship and blind faith in men and *their* doctrines does though.
To address a minor part of
To address a minor part of your post, I agree completely with you about the Santa Claus LIE. I know the only lesson I learned as a child, upon realizing that Santa Clauis does not exist, is that "Adults think it's cute to lie to children". Not a very uplifting message. I don't have kids, but if I did, I would NEVER lie to them, about Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy or Benevolent Government ---- all equally lies.
Stravinsk, Actually the old testament does call for it...
I too am an atheist brought up in a cosmopolitan city in the midst of many of different faiths whom I love to this day. I was always attracted to the scientific understanding of the world and still believe in natural explanations of things others attribute to a supernatural entity.
Regarding your contention that the holy book sanctions no such actions, I refer you to Deuteronomy 13:1-11 . Admittedly old testament but there it is.

I believe in Natural Right's idea that the source of Man's Rights is his nature, the fact that mankind has a volitional conceptual consciousness makes the whole realm of ethics or morality meaningful.

The Old Testament does call for it...but
...Jesus put an end to Sacrifice by being the Sacrifice - and He also put an end to the *penalty* of the law by taking the penalty Himself on the cross.
The Law, however, is not abolished. Christ said it wouldn't, "till heaven and earth disappear", which hasn't happened yet! The implementation of it, ie: "physical death to breakers"(Christ took death), "animal sacrifices for sins"(Christ is the Sacrifice), "priestly ordinances"(Christ is high priest), civil implentation of law (eye for eye) and the covenant of circumcision(this applied to a specific people, not universally, as the argument about it in Acts shows) - are done away with.
Christians are "freed from the law" in the sense that they, through faith in sinless Christ's death on the cross and resurrection have been redeemed from the curse of the law(death).
However - to be a Christian means to believe Christ when He says "Think not that I have come to abolish the law.....Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments(the law being referred to) and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven"
Most Christian churches teach the immutable continuance of 9 commandments. But the one starting with "remember" has been forgotten.
Notion that human beings are sacrificial animals persists...
as the root of the morality of Altruism which holds that the good is determined by the beneficiary of any action, that if someone else benefits, that is "good," and that the benefit of others is one's sole justification for existence! You claim that "sacrifice" ended with the death of Jesus, but the moral code of Altruism, a mystical view of the universe, and an anti reason epistemology persists to this day.
I do care what people believe because their beliefs influence their judgment and lead to the election of the kinds of politicians we have had whose legislative acts have gone beyond Constitutional limits, driven by their moral code which underlies government programs such as welfare for both individuals and corporations, self sacrificial interventions overseas, mandates (involuntary servitude), taxation forbidden by Article 1 section 9, legal tender laws as a means to their power lusting ends to spend more than they take in in taxes, etc.
I see you have not responded at all to what I have written in my first response to your post so i have little hope you will address what I am saying here. Perhaps you will read The Virtue of Selfishness and For the New Intellectual by Ayn Rand and Breaking Free by Nathaniel Branden.

I was trying to make the point that in our forefathers time they understand who their creator was and what he stood for, thus creating the best Constitutional Republic ever in history.
In today's Christianity they don't understand their creator, and their hearts are far from him, so they create chaos in their attempts to play God themselves creating a socialist utopia, a New Tower of Babel so to speak.

was a Spiritual based document, there is no doubt. Even when Thomas Jefferson wrote the letter regarding the imfamous quote "seperation of church and state" (which has been taken out of context on more than one occasion and with regard to more than one law), he was not present for the original document! Thomas Jefferson's letter has not been used properly in regards to what he meant in its entirety, it was more a matter of conveinance.

Not exactly...
Sorry, but according to the Bible, the Founders were heretics.
Romans 13: 1Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
...let it not be said that we did nothing.
