Canada, U.S. agree to use each other's troops in civil emergencies

Canada and the U.S. have signed an agreement that paves the way for the militaries from either nation to send troops across each other's borders during an emergency, but some are questioning why the Harper government has kept silent on the deal.
Neither the Canadian government nor the Canadian Forces announced the new agreement, which was signed Feb. 14 in Texas.
The U.S. military's Northern Command, however, publicized the agreement with a statement outlining how its top officer, Gen. Gene Renuart, and Canadian Lt.-Gen. Marc Dumais, head of Canada Command, signed the plan, which allows the military from one nation to support the armed forces of the other nation during a civil emergency.

he's talking about a cartoon movie that was popular a few years back. It was a musical, and one of the songs was Blame Canada. It was satire. In the movie, a parents group blamed a fictional movie made my canadian comedians for bad language. They had v-chips implanted in their kids to censor their language. They kidnapped the comedians and scheduled their executions. This lead to a military standoff between the US and Canada. The thing was, it was really a plot between satan and Saddam Hussein in Hell to bring in armageddon. The whole movie was a satire on censorship and political correctness.

He took a 3 day bus ride to come home. And when he did he was arrested.

It seems the private Bob Barker owned prison didnt want to pay to transport him to Ct. So they tricked him into thinking he was free. That should be cruel and unusual punishment, Im going to court in the morning to see what happens.
He was charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was reporting to his parole officer for the first time and they ambushed him. Didnt eat, take a shower , see me, nothing. Went straight to his P.O.
Their acting like its a clerical error. He did the Ct time in Va, since the time ran concurrent. There now saying it didnt or someone didnt file the paperwork right. I wonder if that person will spend their Easter in jail for it!

Canada never was for sale and has never wanted to join the US (remember 1812) Negativity in Canada towards the US (distinguish from American individuals) lies in a perceived lack of recognition/ respect, for instance, as your largest trading partner for several decades. We can name every state and most state capitals in grade school, but who there knows the names of our provinces. Some US politicians have assumed Canada and her resources are here for the taking, giving countless Canadian comedians solid careers on just these topics. The time is here for us all to work together against the corporations who are darkening out light and taking over both our countries. We want freedom, as do you.
BTW restrictions of private and corporate foreign land ownership exist in Canada and vary from Province to Province, and taxes are high on profits. Therea re lots of individual Chinese immigrants but please enlighten me if there is Chinese conspiracy to own Canada.

Canadas third language is Chinese
Word is, after English and French, Chinese is our third language. But I haven't seen evidence of the Chinese buying up heaps of our land. Personally, when I'm in any major city I enjoy going to Chinatown. What an eye opener.
I'm In Canada
This is a beautiful country and so much of it is unpopulated and completely untouched. I am also a US citizen but I have a home here as well. From this side of the Border the people here see the US as a fascist dictatorship and I'm afraid I do also so I'm staying here until I see what Bush has planned for the next year. They will never allow the North American Union over here if you saw the protests and the latest "non-confidence" proceedings you'd understand.Harper will be replaced very soon.
There are demonstrations happening in Ottawa almost every day.This is how Canadians react to being treated unfairly they don't stop having bodies on the "floor". Americans could learn alot from that. I left San Diego last fall when my business there was being destroyed by the economy ( I'm a builder ) and I moved to my place in Windsor Ontario ( I have many things in Michigan but they have all gone broke too )
Never think that Canada has any part in the mess that we are facing in The states the problem is Bush.

That is not what I am been seeing and reading. The "powers that be" are treating Canada just like it is America. The NAU and the agreement to use Canadian troops all say this is true too. Also I have always heard that Canada is more liberal than America is and has very less faith. When I was in Canada, the people did not seem happy and they certainly did not seem to like Americans. Of course, that would be a generalization and not advised on my part or theirs. But Canada better watch it's back. It was my understanding that we are "following" Canada into the one world order. Their banking system is also centralized, right?

We do have alot less faith here, we don't hold a patriotic or a religious stance like the states do, My parents were from here but imoved to California when I was younger. The biggest differences I noticed is that americans follow leadership and canadians get pissed off when they are told what to do. Our main banking system is Is "yes" the bank of canada which is a central bank and it's owned by the monarchy (the queen ) of england.

but for the past several years the government has been borrowing from the private banks and of course we pay interest to the private banks

Canadians actually do react often with anger when they are informed as to what has been going behind closed doors so the silence from the governments (federal and provincial) is becoming more and prevalent. Usually when activists start speading around such news (NAU, Superhighway, Amero, enhanced ID et al) suddenly the protests are news... and people wake up. Even when Canadians strongly disagree with a policy the government does what it pleases. For instance about 95% of the population want gentically modified foods labelled or at least labelling showing what foods are not GE...that is not allowed. I guess Monsanto owns Canada. We are living in a corporate controlled yet somehow socialist nation, but we are fairly well educated...Once the majority of Canadians realize this I expect we will support a revolution but it may be too late. We welcomed US draft dodgers and deserters from Vietman with open arms. Gov't policy now is to send them home. If you are a deserter and come to Canada you likely can rely on the people to help you. Just don't apply for status.

Harboring an American
My Honey and I have had a discussion already about harboring an American. She's a tad leary about the ideal because she's such a law abiding citizen. I'm a little rough around the edges and see it as bending the law and not breaking the law. I'm in eastcoast Canada and along most riverbanks there are tens of thousands of well equipt cabins rarely used other than a few weekends a year.
