Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Racist? Anti-American?

I have bee listing to some of Wrights speeches, I find I tent to agree with many of his statements.
Yes, he talks about rich white men, but isn’t that true?
Yes he says dam America, but he is right we are killing people. And I don’t think it un-American to criticize the government; in fact it is exactly American.
If you listen to his whole sermon, there is a lot of sense to them.

I'm black too, and most of the Reverend's comments sound to me like Ron Paul with a really loud voice.
I actually like the guy from what I've seen. It's BEYOND INSANE to think that America is never wrong!
Distractions Distractions.
Preachers have to be boisterous to get people in the seats every week. If they bored people, no one would show up. Obama's preacher is just preaching to a receptive audience, and going for the sensational.
We need to understand that it's the MSM's job to distract America from the real issues, and get them arguing over wedge issues that are never solved.
Issues like the NAU, the repeal of NAFTA, the destruction of the Constitution, the expanding of socialism are the issues that we should be writing our elected representatives about, and warning citizens about.
Don't fall for the MSM's definition of what this election is about. It's not race.
As an Black/ Libertarian/ Atheist
Barack Obama's (Known here on out as BO) politics stink, true. But the media stinks even worse on this one. Absolutely no due diligence was done in this reporting. They played 20sec clips from hour long sermons. This was the same hatchet job used against RP. I tend to agree with Rev Wright on more points than his follower BO.
He was demonized for saying that America brought on 9-11, the same way Rudy used to say about RP when he was running for President, but he clearly prefaced the clip with "I heard Amb Edward Peck on Fox News say...". Then he went on to read a quote from a former US Ambassador question or foreign policy. AKA "blame America first." I am actually shocked that BO did not take this opportunity to point GWB's failed foreign policy.
They say he went to Libya with Farrakhan and met Kadafi but didn't say that they went to broker a deal to release an American POW, which they did. President Regan called "a mission of mercy".
Liberation Theology is something that as an Atheist I can't get behind, but as a Libertarian I am all for. They teach oppressed people that their government is not coming to help them so they as a community need to pull up the boot straps and go to work and overcome for themselves. It is not a separatist movement, instead it is a get off your ass movement. BO needs to go to church more so that he can get schooled on the failure of a welfare state,
As for the government selling drugs to the black community. Read the Kerry Committee Report. This Senate report concluded that during the Iran Contra Affair "senior U.S. policy makers were not immune to the idea that drug money was a perfect solution to the Contras' funding problems." Nearly $1m tax dollars went to drug dealers. DEA agents testified as to the same.
An finnaly my favorite, AIDS... I have not seen any evidence that the US Government created AIDS. But I did read of the Tuskegee Experiment where syphilis was tested on share croppers. And how we tested other diseases on prisoners such as Malaria in Illinois State Prison. Or how about radiation poisoning on the handicapped in the Walter E. Fernald State School in Massachusetts? And finally the CIA mind control experiments on US Soldiers. Oh yea in most of these cases, the military, Pharmaceuticals and universities participated. And BO wants to give us government run health care.
People are ...quirky
So it comes as no surprise that when Barak makes a statement in Philadelphia such as "my grandmother isnt racist-my grandmother is just a 'typical white person' who when confronted with by a black person on the street is frightened..." He implies that he beleives that there are "typical white people" People tend to feel ...uncomfortable. Not saying that what he says ISNT true -it dosnt matter- just that ANY time you say a "typical" anything -those people in the bracket feel like they are being stereotyped. If Hillary were to say, "my grandfather was just a typical black man- he walked around the streets -often times umwittingly behind white women" -that likely wouldnt sit well with the black people whose vote she is courting. I suspect Obama's comments worry the DNC - that white people may be getting put off by Obamas pastor and "typical white people " remark.(regardless of what the polls say- when it comes to "race polls" all people say what they think they SHOULD say- black, white whoever)- But Hillary is having a bumper week too - she implied that "because when there is a spot of danger- they dont send the president into harms way- they send the first lady" (Kim Possible) she "ran, hunched over as sniper fire ripped through the air above her after she first landed at the airport as she made her way to the troops at the frontlines in Bosnia". and then (damned the interwebs) videos pop up showing she and Chelsea giggling and all smiles in a crowd of wellwishers kissing on a young girl - on the news- where no mention of "bullets whizzing" is uttered by the jovial reporter- also in the recently released first lady papers- she herself reports her trip to Bosnia as uneventful. Surely if her statements to her crowds werent a bald-face lie the MSM would have made SOME sort of mention of our first lady being escorted through a hail of sniper fire. I wonder when democrats will look at these two people and then the alternate choice- McCain and think "oh yeah...who is Ron Paul?".
Thank you for your post,Obama Supporter
and also the comments from the closet Obama supporters.
Hate is Hate and Ron Paul and those who support his views are anti-hate, anti-negativity and anti-race divisionist spewing.
Not concerned about any long-term effects to the Obama campaign from this garbage? Well, you should be. This is only the beginning and it's going to get a lot uglier for your wonderful "hope and change" CFR member and Patriot Act supporter.
Now run along to the Obama campaign and collect your check, there's a good troll.
Humm,
Please, show me the hate. I expected to get a lot of replies like yours, but I see many actually listened to what the man says, allot of what he says the same thing Ron Paul and all of us are talking about.
The only hate I see is yours.
I listened to his sermom and also agreed with him
Faux news at their best again.
I tend to agree with him
I tend to agree with him too. Take away the extra hoopla and he actually is saying much of what we are saying about this country; it's just too bad that those who are looking for real answers are looking in the wrong place this election. The politics of Obama, Hillary and McCain will only prove to be more of the Status Quo, none of them cannot fulfill their promises because those promises continue to be based upon the same centralized point of view in terms of the economy, foreign policy and domestic policies.

Stick it to THE MAN..
As a 100% White Cracker. I'm also tired of THE MAN bringing me down. We need Under Cover Brother to fight for the little people.
I can say I tended to agree with him also. His metaphors were strong and unpleasant for many to hear but they ring of truth.
Britt Hume was going on about how the statements were racist and you could tell by the one black guy in the panels eyes that he was just being an Uncle Tom for his job agreeing with Hume on how racist it was.
The Aids statement was wacko (could be true just sounds wacko)
I don't think this will hurt Obama in the long run
