Now you know why the deal makers (in the smoke filled rooms) wanted all of the republican candidates to withdraw from the race.
They were trying to keep McCain from over spending to avoid this real challenge.
They just did not get the other candidates to quit campaigning quick enough to protect him from his own law.
We need to fill Ron Paul's war chest so he can continue getting his message out and who knows what the September convention results could be.

years. What does the existence of a "law" mean to the likes of John McCain anyway? Since he has no difficulty violating his constitutional oath, I can't imagine that a mere statute would represent any significant barrier to his desires or plans. I've read the letters from the FEC. Yes he is indeed in violation of the law and no, it's no accident.

If any outside party tries to force the GOP in those states to invalidate the elections, because the state primary was (or should be) invalidated, there may be blowback from the state delegates saying "you can't do that, we still vote for McCain" just to show they can.

As we've seen, the primaries are, at best, a taxpayer-funded straw poll for the benefit of the GOP. It tells them what people want, but whether they use the information to inform their nominating process, or not, is up to them.

It is irrelevant whether they retroactively pull McCain from the ballot; the delegates in September have the results in hand, and will decide on their own.

I don't think it will help Ron Paul for his own supporters to run with this, now, and I'm hoping the Democrats won't, yet, either.

However, in September and possibly at the state conventions in these states, it should be pointed out that McCain is likely to have real trouble from the Democrats over this issue, and that perhaps it would be a good idea to keep our options open (in the states) and consider Ron Paul (at national) as a principled alternative.

Invalidating these ballots leaves the issue in the hands of the delegates: exactly where it is, already.

Needs to be dugg and pressure placed on those regions to adress this. How many delegates are being questioned here- anyone know off hand?

Are these states fighting this? Will Congress or someone hold him accountable for the law?
