Step by Step makes a Mile
I know that there are some who are not that happy with the "conventional" success of this campaign so far and who don´t believe that this is just the beginning and not the end of this movement.
But I think it is and I see prove for that again and again in so many little and seemingly unrelated things.
Just for example, I right now participated in a marketing study for Lay´s potato chips.
There were four different sales pitches for a new product of them to rate:
- one centered on the "fresh from the farm, natural" theme
- one with a "healthy, light, low calories" theme
- one with a subconscious religious touch ("rejoice, rejoice, rejoice")
and finally:
- "Lay´s Founders Select, the gold standard of potato chips!"
Might be a coincidence, but I don´t think any marketing guy would have thought of that one a year ago *g*
Obviously we were successful in showing that we are a sizable portion of the population and that anyone wanting to get our resources has to cater to our ideas. (And believe me if the marketing guys have got that, the RNC has too *g*)
Of course, some of you will say "What good will some .... chips do, if we don´t win the nomination?", but see it that way:
Just let those pundits try again to paint somebody as a kook simply for speaking about the gold standard the next time, after Joe Sixpack had four years of positive associations with gold standard potato chips. *lol*

I love potato chips :) mmmm yummy
I agree, I see things everyday and it's subtle sometimes, but we're doing it.
