How do you feel about Kevorkian running for congress?

Read it today in the newspaper...he's 78 and running for congress..had alot of great stuff to say about our current officials and also said that he owes no one anything so he can speak his mind freely...
Perhaps I am wrong, but I have always thought he was right in what he did...I know if i was terminal, in extreme pain and was putting my family financial and emotional hardship...I would want to end it and wouldn't want the government interfering...

I think the choice of being able to end your own life is a good example of the freedom people would try to take away from you. Most people in this world would have you lay for years and suffer for their own reasons than give you the freedom that is rightfully yours. I will tell you that if I decided that I was in too much pain and wanted to end my own life no one would stop me without imprisoning me.
I would have to make sure that his others views are in line with personal freedom and liberty though.

Can't seriously think Bush is anything at all except a man who can't remember his lines.
I think Regan was the last, but he had to that Bush elder to "unite the Party". Bush elder was part of the offing of JFK for which the Watergate was about and Nixon (who knew) had to step down.
(They were looking for the helicopter photos they thought the democrats had.)

I Believe Him To Be A Real Gentleman & Man Of His Word
I new him a long time ago when we were both much younger and I new him to be a real gentleman and a man of his word. He is from the old school that believes that a man's word is his bond. As to his personal believes or opinions I have know idea. He was the idea man and his brother Nish was one of the smartest financial minds around and was the deal maker.

What blows me away is Saddam lived in a country where nearly every house had an AL47. And he'd be out there in the open air and all these supporters would be shooting in the air! WTF!

I had
to love what he said about our supreme court...He is not set up to take donations , and he is up against some big money...so he is only speaking at public libraries...but he is totally pissed at our system and he is speaking his truth.

Easing a loved one through the fear and often pain of death is a blessing.
Most people truly love their friends and family.

That is also the way I feel
It is MY choice. Although I would hope I would not take it because I think it is against my religion and I believe that someone is benefitting in some way no matter what the circumstances is you let it happen naturally (when God is ready). But I don't fault people who decide when they are terminal to take the step to avoid the pain and horror of it all. Having watched Alzheimers, etc., I cannot fault the Dr. for doing what he was asked to do. I think it is great that he is running for congress. I see nothing wrong with his age or his views.
