Shortages will start happening NOW! An insiders heads up from our wholesalers!

0 votes

Just got the phone call from our MAJOR pet supply company...Our rep has informed us that the weekly deliveries we have been recieving since Christ was a carpenter will now be every two weeks and possibly in the near future they will be only once a month or longer due to gas prices etc.

When I questioned her further she said that almost all wholesalers in all areas of business...including food...were going to begin doing this ie..combining routes etc..which would make many products unavailable should they be wiped off the shelves in a short time after delivery...

Just a heads up. get it while you can...Shortly it may be months before store products can be restocked.

An Oldie but Goodie

Yes, I realize the spam bot bumped this up, but it's actually rather fortuitous -- now is a good time for a reminder to stock up on items (in case you haven't started already!).

As soon as this bailout package is passed, which I sadly fear will be the case, we may all wish that we had been stocking up since kat originally posted this thread back in March. Her "heads up" advisory to stock up while you can may be timely advice for right now.

Check emergency supplies...check expiration dates of foods and medicines...and check sizes of clothing, if you have growing kids.

Just like checking the smoke detectors at the start of each new season, checking your supplies at each seasonal change is a good way to remember to get that job done. Yesterday was the first day of Autumn, so, go check now and restock as needed.

Well, in the meantime, do

Well, in the meantime, do like Warren Buffet did last year... buy railroad stocks! There's money to be made in all of this. Our railway systems are going to have a huge makeover in a few years and Uncle Sam is going to give them tax breaks to do it. This will also create employment. Buy now why the buyings cheap....

strike now by independent georgia truckers - link below

Middle Georgia Truckers Strike

"Approximately 30 men and women brought their trucks to Thomaston Monday for a strike they hope will spread nationally. They say 2-3 days without trucks will force U.S. politicians to take their cause seriously. "

What I heard

was that there will be a strike by the independent truckers, which means not the corporation truckers. I know a trucker that workers with a corporation, and he thinks everything is just fine. This all ties in with the Mexican truckers that they recently allowed to start trucking in this country. They are pushing out the independent truckers, but not effecting the corporate ones. It's another method to control supplies.

This is the reason for the TTC

They want to ship goods into Mexican ports, end run the American ports (high labor costs, strong unions), eliminate the well-paying jobs of American truckers and utilize dirt-cheap Mexican labor for the whole shebang. Wake up folks, before we're all broke and wealth is in the hands of the politically connected only. Tell your friends and family. This is an in for us to less overall aware folks.

i'm from Indiana and was listening to John Mellencamp last night. with this mortgage mess it got me wondering. i remember all the Farm Aid concerts back in the 80s early 90s time frame. i wonder how many of those farms that were lost are now government owned farms? or at least owned by big corporations as opposed to independent farmers. makes me think it was all part of "their" big plan for us.

No matter who you vote for, the government always gets in - Bill Hicks

Truckers may strike 1st week of April

This came from a trucker who intends to take part. This will play into a short term shortage. He advised us to stock up.

I heard Truckers were

already going out of business cause of high diesel prices.
Many were wondering if they are going to be able to keep trucking with prices going up and up.
Now the high cost of transport is starting to trickle down on everything in stores.

Not just starting...

I don't think that the high cost of transport is just starting to trickle down to the prices in stores. It's been happening for quite some time now. It's inevitable that when the cost of gas goes up...the result will be the cost of EVERYTHING else following suit.

I believe the big push to go "green" and grow corn

To make ethanol was part of the plan for food shortage. Consider this:
It takes almost as much fuel to produce a gallon of ethanol, so we aren't helping the supposed fuel shortage.
Thennnn----we are using valuable farming acreage to produce fuel instead of FOOD! We have a wheat shortage now----so how many farmers quit growing Wheat to cash in on the Corn for Ethanol?!
We have been IMPORTING more food than EXPORTING food for quite a few years now.

and its genetically modified corn at that Not so good for

the earth or its humans

But don't worry... Monsanto still has some real corn stored away in vaults in Scandanavia, quesiton is who will get it ?!

Thank you for posting this

Anyone else with similar stories, I for one would like to know.

The media won't report on this stuff until there are riots in the streets, so it's important to share information "in the trenches" so we won't all wake up one day and realize we're paying $5 for a coffee at Starbucks...

oh....wait....

"Dependence begets subservience and venality, suffocates the germ of virtue, and prepares fit tools for the designs of ambition." -- Thomas Jefferson

Maybe this is what is needed.

Since the majority of Americans are too busy trying to keep up with the Jones' next door, maybe this will wake them up and force them to engage in the political process more.

And the weaning from indulgence begins...

Fear not... middle America will be weaned off of a lot of things they are used to - very soon. Here's the good news I see, though... Sipping my coffee at a popular bread shop, two retired ladies are talking about the price of gold and how they need to keep theirs in case the dollar starts to collapse. The week before (same place) a bible study group (seemingly) talked politics instead and couldn't get over how much explaining McCain would have before he'd get their vote. The Epidemic is the proliferation of knowledge, unlike any we've seen in recent times. It is the spirit of the RP revolution fueling this. Everyone is beginning to agree with RP - we just need the podium a little longer for them to board the train. Onward to the march! Onward to the convention!

since we have poisoned the earth, we should wean ourselves

Wow, good article...

... except for the last paragraph about having a deposit on all plastic sold worldwide. Here in British Columbia, the recycling/deposit program on plastic bottles, aluminium cans, etc is run (controlled) by the government (i.e. big men with guns). That's not a good thing.

Surely there is a libertarian answer to the issue of recycling? Well, actually there is; I just don't have the time to write about it right now - I have to go to the grocery store and return my plastic bottles for the deposit money :-)

I use my bottle/can deposits

I use my bottle/can deposits to buy an ounce of silver at a time...getting harder with silver prices going up :P

I thought those people who run the bottle return

depots were actually entreprenuers (sp?) who sold the bottles and cans.

What was I thinking. There is no real free market after all...

Go scare the sh%$ out of someone else

They control us with fear messages and you are helping them.

Unify

I wasn't trying...

to scare anyone...I was just passing along what was told to me today by our distributor...Things like this are going to start happening...especially to smaller wholesalers and small businesses...

If it doesn't hurt any grocers or consumers i am actually happy...because the last thing I want to see is my own business shutting down due to lack of product.

Lighten up.

nevermind that moron KAT.. I

nevermind that moron KAT.. I get so sick of some of these so called Ron Paul supporters bad mouthing some peoples posts.. wether is is preparedness or posts like yours... Like it or not people this economy is crashing.. the post Kat put on her is a symptom of that crash.. Ron Paul has said were in for tough times.. Even he were to become president things will be hard and rough! if you don't want to prepare so be it but people like tstorey should just keep their mouths shut! there is no way with all the indebtedness in this country that the economy will stay together so screw em!

thank you but i'm no better

thank you but i'm no better than anyone else.. just want to see people of like mind get threw this thing as easy as possible.. it just floors me that some people or so stupid and ignorant that they can't see the forest for the trees!

as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐

Thanks Sierra...

I just get the feeling that people are assuming they are going to wake up one day and there won't be food at the groceries..People would utterly panic.

This is a slow process...Two week intervals now...next few weeks I might get the call that they can only deliver once a month and so on...

The only thing I can think is that small businesses who rely on distributors(like us) are doomed..

I guess Wal-Mart wins again.

Without posts like these

we wouldn't be fore-warned and able to use this time to prepare...it isn't fear mongering...just ignore posters like that.

Well put

:)

I welcome any news about upcoming shortages

I went to buy a few more staples today (almost done) and I talked to the store clerk, a very nice lady well over 60. She is aware of trucker unrest and the fact that most of our food comes from or through the US, and she is aware there could be shortages. She told me with a twinkle in her eye that she is preparing, or words to that effect. Its other people she is worried about. I was stunned. People are paying attention to events in the world and whomever said it is because of Ron Paul, is RIGHT.

Remember the early debates, everyone focussed on weapons of mass destruction and the definition of torture and terrorism etc etc ... and then Ron Paul spoke. What a moment,

BTW Our gas today is $4.84 a gallon ($1.21 LITRE)

cw

You should be scared..

Then think it through and start preparing.. we're not going into a fun bit of history this year.

~They~ are not controlling us with fear messages with this post.. the OP is simply stating that the chit is going to hit the fan in short order.

So react to it in a positive manner, or put your head back up your A$$ and keep on keeping on....lol.
