I'm an invited delegate

I donated to the Republican Convention...
On October 24th, 2007 Pdubya says:
...some time this summer, as a small business owner, more for advertising, but, was "selected" as a delegate to attend the upcoming convention as a delegate.

...for an additional $2,500. I would LOVE to go to represent Dr. Paul, as I'm an avid supporter....but my business just can not afford it right now.

I'm not sure how they are selected, but pretty sure that if the National Convention receives monetary support by registered republicans, that puts those in consideration to becoming delegates.

...wish I had the bucks...I'd wear a sharp blue suit with a big Ron Paul button on the lapel....under the American Flag button, of course.

Pdubya on delegate
On October 24th, 2007 Bob W says:
When is the money due? Maybe we can get donations as we need delegates. How did they select you? A long time Republican?

Pathetic that it comes down to money to be a delegate....especially that much. The fix is in at every corner. No wonder why 40% of NH is Independent.

here is tom cole's letter to me.

Dear Patrick:

The House Republican Trust 2007 Candidates Convention in Washington, D.C. on October 29-30th, is just a week away! It's not too late to sign up and represent your state, but space is running out!

Your support and involvement at this time is crucial. The Republican leadership has nominated you as a Delegate for an important policy event that will help us lay the foundation to retain the White House and restore our Republican Majority on Capitol Hill.

Highlights of the Convention include:

Convention Delegate Lunch featuring Vice President Dick Cheney

Dinner at the historic Capitol Hill Club with Republican Whip Roy Blunt, Conference Chairman Adam Putman and Republican Members of Congress

An exclusive Town Hall Meeting and Focus Group discussion where you can provide your opinions on the Republican Party Platform for 2008

You can find the complete convention schedule in the attached agenda.

There are numerous packages to attend our 2007 Candidates Convention.
I hope to see you there since we will be discussing the direction House Republicans should go in order to take back Congress.

If you are unable to attend, I sincerely hope you will return a generous contribution of $1,000, $500, $250 or even $100 to ensure the success of this premier event. With a contribution of $500 or more, you will become a Delegate at Large and receive our limited edition GOP Victory Flag, a DVD from the event, as well as our 2007 Candidates Convention tote bag.

As an ardent Republican who knows all that is at stake next year, I know you realize that for us to emerge victorious -- to keep the White House in Republican hands and regain our Republican House Majority -- it will take a huge financial investment that we must begin to raise now.

Please don't let this invitation go unanswered. RSVP now via the NRCC website or, I encourage you to
call 1-877-433-8794 to guarantee your ticket today. Thank you.

Tom Cole, M.C.

P.S. It is important to me that you are part of our 2007 Candidates Convention. That is why I am still holding a ticket for you to join us in Washington, D.C. on October 29-30th. I must know immediately if you will be attending or at least contribute to the success of this event with a donation of $2,500, $1,000, $500, or even $100. Thank you.

Not the Nominating Convention
On October 24th, 2007 Bob says:
They're offering you a chance to be a delegate at the 2007 convention NOT THE 2008 CONVENTION THAT WILL NOMINATE OUR CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT! The best way for Ron Paul to win the Republican Presidential nomination is for him to win the primaries.

I'm an Invited Delegate
On October 25th, 2007 Pdubya says:
Bob - I realize the difference. This convention I would be voting on key issues at the center of debate in America's politics. Issues that will be voted upon will be low taxes, strong national defense, limited spending, securing our borders, less regulation, energy reform and reaonsable health care policies. GOP candidates, both Congressional and Presidential will be there.

This is an opportunity to have Ron Paul's views voted upon. I am uncomfortable asking for hand-outs, but I put this request for support to see if I can offset the costs associated with this convention.

A single ticket is $2,500, but I have an opportunity for two, for $5,000.

Any willing contributors are greatly appreciated

If you go to Dr. Paul's main site and click on the "States" tab you will get a drop down of states. If you click on your state there will be the name of the person who is in charge of your state and they will help you if you want to be a delegate. The convention is being held in St. Paul Minnesota this year...
The name tickles me and I think it's a good omen....
Anyway...I will be getting info for my state and will post anything I find out here....
But that is a start. =)

Leave the Ron Paul button HOME!

You need to appear UNDECIDED. Showing up as a blatant Paulite won't get you far.

Put up a chipin and for criminy's sakes, don't give your affilia

Don't give your affilitation away!
Don't let it be known at the convention that you support ron paul, and don't give away who you are on the internet here. We need you, and support the idea, but if you are found out, you will be eliminated.

Though I thought it would be a reall convention, and a if we could get to the national convention, and a bunch of "faithless electors" who signed up as delegates voted alongside the delegates that Ron Paul got, and got him the presidency. Its no dirtier than has been pulled against us.

got it

sometimes i'm naive.

any takers? I can afford another $1,000

Better safe than sorry.

To beat the game, you have to play it.

Think of everything. Going to the event? take your Ron Paul supporter sticker off the back of your car. Remove the slim jims & flyers from the front seat. etc. etc. etc. You're apart of the hope. Good night and good luck.
