Serious question...

Could this preclude secession if not granted?

The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous…God’s grace alone can accomplish such a thing.

What do you mean? Not

What do you mean? Not Granted, by whom?

Does this mean

Bush can't declare martial law in Oklahoma?

Martial Law is generally

Martial Law is generally considered to be unattainable in this country on a wide-spread basis. Such a declaration would mire this government into such a untenable quagmire that Iraq would look like a trip to Disney Land. The Statist in Washington realize that it would be spotty at best and would contribute nothing to their own security, by the way that is the only real reason for such a declaration. Martial Law is intent to protect government, not the people.

They may be able to control bits and pieces of certain cities, but generally it would be an exercise in futility that would only enflame the masses against the government. I wouldn't worry too much about such a declaration.

We have been under Martial Law since the civil war

That's why Presidents can issue executive Orders.

I agree

Should move to Repeal the 17th Ammendment and get back to the original Constitutional way of allowing states to decide who to represent them thereby securing and keeping rights soveirgn to the States

What does this mean exactly?

What are the implications of this decision? What do they mean by declaring sovereignty?

Republicae's picture

It is, or should be, the

It is, or should be, the declaration that the State is once again impressing its Right as a Sovereign and Independent State Republic within the Reflective Union of States. If you read the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions you will find a clear explanation of the Sovereignty, that there would be no way for the States to give their assent to the Ratification of the Constitution if they were not indeed first and foremost Sovereign and Independent in their decision making. Therefore all decisions in the general or federal government were to be reflective of that Sovereignty and totally dependent upon said Sovereignty, without which the general or federal government would cease to exist and would be defunct of all power and authority since such power and authority is delegated to the general or federal government and not inherent within it.

How do I locate the resolutions?

Rep,

How do I locate the Virginia, Kentucky resolutions? Are they recent? Did they pass?

Thanks,
LF

BRAVO FOR OK

BRAVO FOR OK...now let the rest of the State Republics once again take up their Sovereign Rights as Independent States and put this run-a-muck federal government back in its place as a reflection of the States.

Amen to that

A movement to re-establisment states rights could solve a lot of problems.

Republicae's picture

Exactly, then we need to

Exactly, then we need to repeal the 17th Amendment which did nothing but make the Senate a federal power instead of keeping it as Representative of the State Republics.
