Do men find women who can understand and discuss the political issues to be especially attractive, or is it just me?

Since the political discourse on the DP has apparently gone to sleep, I thought I would try to liven things up a bit.

Overall, I find RP people to be exceptionally bright, but unfortunately also few and far between. As a follow up to a recent thread on "ways to perpetuate the revolution" I wanted to ask this question.

Do men find women who can understand and discuss the political issues to be especially attractive, or is it just me?

my wife and i met....

just eight months before learning about ron paul.

we married each other another six months from that point.

you do the math!

men OR women who know nothing of what is going on are some what out of my field of view when it comes to even just being friends.

i have a very hard time even speaking with my parents who voted dem.
alas! i am forsaken!

:)

Remember...

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That being said, real world may not necessarily conform. Look at some of the popular one's and who they married: J Lo to Marc Anthony (He looks like that little thing in Geico commercials, lol); Heidi Klum to Seal, Beyonce to Jay-Z. Only thing I can agree on: They got money. Moneymen gets the best, no "if's" or "buts" here. Are they happy? Maybe, because they can buy happiness. True happiness? Don't know. Smart and talented? Maybe so for they wouldn't be there if they're not.

Intelligent/smart women attract me the most. I'll be the proudest if she happens to be a rich supermodel or a beauty queen (yeah, in my dreams). And oh yeah, she loves Ron Paul.

People in general...

...are more attractive when they are intelligent. Unfortunately, more bias is placed on appearance than content.

All the

All the married women at DP are dragging their husbands over here to read these comments. Thank you for making me feel like a hot commodity.

Ha ha

You are so right. My husband made an iron-on shirt.
Ron Paul stole my wife!

You can get...

... iron-on inkjet printer sheets for t-shirts at Office Depot/Max. There are two different kinds... one for white tees and another for dark tees

ohhhhh yes

I won't even consider a woman who can't discuss what's happening. She doesn't have to agree with me on everything, but she's gotta realize the gravity of our present situation.

What is begun in anger, ends in shame.

I must say...

Forgive me Carrol, but Dr. Paul really does turn me on. I never thought that could happen because my dad is 70 and he is so brainwashed from the Fox news "two minute hate session" that I thought most of the men that age must be neocons. But no, RP has taught me so much and he's quite addorable too. And that smile.
None of my family talk to me anymore but I have found some cool Ron Paul supporters that are great to talk with. There was a hot long dark haired super smart hippie guy at one of our meetups that I was hoping to here from. Still waiting.

What are you waiting for?

What are you waiting for? Just take him by the hand and tell him you need to discuss some very important "issues" with him.

In some parts of the country...

that may be true. Here in the Deep South (sorry for the oxymoron), politically knowledgable women are about as useful to men as correct usage of the English language.
When I discuss political issues here in Alabama they look at me like I'm a different species and say, "Doooo Whaaattt??" with WTF expressions on their faces.

Hey hey hey now...

I'm in south Missippi and we had a dozen counties go 10% for Dr. Paul including my county (Jones County). And parts of Louisiana was pretty impressive too for Ron.

Ya'll back up the Yankee talk with county percentages for the Good Doctor...

>;)

I'm not a Yankee

I was born in the South.

I've lived all over the

I've lived all over the country and parts of Canada. I've never found a shortage of intellectual females in the South who are actively interested in political topics as compared to females in other parts of the country.

Maybe it's because I've spent most of my time in university and/or corporate/technical settings. My family and extended family here in Missippi is chock full of females who will talk your ear off about politics...

My reply was meant to be light-hearted. Having said that I think your characterization of southern men is basically just not true or accurate. Everywhere I've been there are redneck-y low intellect persons.

;)

I've lived all over the world as well.

I just haven't experienced the same political interest amongst women in this "rural" Southern area. Maybe it's different in the bigger cities. Women here seem to be judged by appearance; what her husband does for a living; and what church she attends. When I try to talk about anything other than the above..... I get the deer in the headlights look from both sexes. I envy that you're chock full of people that like to talk politics or something other than a very limited pool. I get very bored with the lack of intellectual stimulation. I lived in Calif. for 20 years of my life. At least there they seem to be open to new ideas and VALUED people that had different ideas. I'm not totally dogging out the South. As I said, I was born here. There are A LOT of things about the South that are great. I just get bummed regarding limited thinking.

I'm sure if you could

I'm sure if you could somehow manage to explain all your political beliefs in bass fishing and NASCAR terminology, they would eat it up!

Yep, we're the greatest nation in the world, 'cuz if Dubya done said it, it dawggone MUST be true!

Sooooooo True!

Husband and I were laughing at the truth in your reply. Sounds far fetched but.....!!!!!

My sister

lives in Birmingham and is a Ron Paul supporter! She speaks perfect english too!

Your sister is a minority

unfortunately! I knew some people from the South would say, "Hey..that ain't right!" This has just been MY experience. I would LOVE for it to be different. People here like to think inside the box. The more inside that box the more accepted you are. Ron Paul is outside and so they think he's strange and uninformed and so....his supporters are as well.

Ok, it could be good for future Paulites

but needs some built in troll alert indicator. The gene pool could get ugly if say a McCain crossover, happened in the partnering down the line. Needs to be the standard questionaire with say maybe a random question about the economics thrown in there as a safety valve. Or to deflect Obama undercover agents maybe a question or two--what does change mean to you? Certain names such a Noelle, Betterhalf, Onevoiceforreason, etc. would be put in the system to automatically not go through, as there could be a newbie to the site that would be innocent to the endless back and forth mindless attempt at manipulation put forth, that more seasoned of us has had to endure. Come on this could be good, let's put our thinking caps on. Remember that stupid saying from your childhood. Oh, by the way I am posting in response to the idea of the dating site, put it in wrong place.

I have

I have been waiting, and waiting, and waiting for a ron paul singles forum to be created. I'm ready to breakup with my mainstream girlfriend (MSG)<---can be poison as well) for a ron paul girl. Waiting

Haha make it happen!

Haha make it happen! ronpaulsingles.com is waiting
i'm tired of my msg too

I couldn't help but think

I couldn't help but think that this thread will evolve into a Ron Paul Republican dating service where we can reproduce like rabbits and take back the nation in a generation :-)

fees are donated to Ron Paul endorsed candidates

Everyone shoud ditch Match.com and go to ronpaulmatch.com and all of the money raised will pay for our candidates. That's if someone donates the building of the site. We could take this to the next level and build a website/community where we help each other. Maybe this is already started... For example, I sell real estate in Chicago and would be willing to donate $500 to a RP candidate for every client that is sent to me and results in a sale.

Now that's a great idea...

Don't forget ronpaulersoverforty.com .....I think most of the older people on this site are married!

I can build the website, no problem

but i have no time to administer it! Who want volunteer?

what about RonPaulSpeedDating.com ;)

Let's get is going!

Soule you could probably use a lot of the work you have already done.

Also considering starting on the same site, a RP bank based on gold and silver that uses PayPal or a similiar system for electronic transfers.
