Ventura/Paul

Jesse Ventura is on Larry King Live and just said maybe Ron Paul should be his runningmate. He's saying he can't run because he can't get on the ballot fast enough, but he sounds like he's fishing to see if he can get the support. Give it to him! For one thing, there is a poll up at http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/ asking if Jesse should run. Go vote!

Ok, Ron Paul will not be

Ok, Ron Paul will not be involved in the 2008 election other than the rest of the prymairy elections.

Can we not take his advice and move on with the movement by electing like minded people to other positions?

Ron will not run 3rd party. He ha a 0% chance of winning the Republican nomination, so turn your time and effort towards nominateing local candidates to help turn around america from the ground up!

Ron Paul first choice

I admit I'm not all that knowledgable about Ventura, but I saw a video of him here not long ago that someone posted and was impressed. If he packs enough punch, so to speak, that he'd boost the campaign being RP's VP, I could go for it.

But it would have to be in that order for me.

Everyone saying "It's not about the man..." blah, blah, blah... is frustrating to me.

While it may be about more than just the man, for me "the man" definitely matters. Ron Paul made the difference for me to vote now, as I hadn't in many years.

RP is a man of courage. He has stood pretty much alone for many years in congress while the others betray their country. He takes a risk going against the powers that be, speaking out against their stinking foreign policy, intrusions on civil liberties, the Federal Reserve, CIA, IRS, etc., but courageously does it anyway because it's the right thing to do.

RP is a man of good character. He is the only candidate in a long time that seems genuinely honest, not "bought", not associated with some secret society. As far as I know, he does not have a shady past or questionable involvement with shady, corrupt people.

RP has a voting record he can stand on.

Ron Paul is first choice for me.

Well said!

To me, he has an amazing amount of courage. He has stood up for right, and now we must stand up for him.

Definitely, Ron Paul for the Long Haul....see you in St. Paul!

too funny

i just watched the history channel episode about the 300 and learned who thermopolis was......i would absolutley love to see jessie ventura as Ron Pauls running mate ,,,but of course i defer to Dr. Pauls final choice

Ventura for open borders!

That is one major problem I see as opposed to our platform! He lives in Baja and he kept saying that the borders should be open! WTF?

Even Ron says the borders issue is a scapegoat

because of the weak economy..

Hi Lynn

Fortune Favors the Bold

I was driving through South Carolina last week on I-95. The area around I-95 seemed a little "not so good" economically

Fortune Favors the Bold

I am ok with open borders in theory

Fortune Favors the Bold

the problem is that open borders are a component of the broader agenda for the NAU, and also that illegal immigration is subzidized, so that businesses can pay illegal workers less. With NAFTA, the whole thing becomes a giant screw job for the people of both Mexico and the US. But open borders in theory are a good thing. In 1988, Ron Paul was in favor of open borders, but admitted there may come a time when that would change depending on the cirumstances. If you got rid of NAFTA, it wouldn't be a hude problem, I think. Keep in mind, Mexico has been on our southern border forever, but it wasn't untill NAFTA you saw the massive influx of mexican immigrants.

Ventura/Paul

Ventura for V.P. and body guard.

MrTom

It is too late for Jesse to get on the Ballot but as VP

it would reinvigorate Ron Paul campaign potentially give it the spark that ignites a home run for Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura.
THIS IS SOMETHING TO GET GOING ON IMMEDIATELY.
We must contact campaign HQ and push this idea like mad.
This is what we been waiting for an opportunity like this don't come often.
Ron Paul President and Jesse Ventura VP. Jesse could be president next term. I hope you realize what this could mean!

Reality Check

Great thought, but the reality is Paul isn't going to be the GOP nominee, and he isn't going to run third party. But the principle is still extremely sound, and can be applied just as well to Bob Barr if he announces a LP ticket run tomorrow as expected. Ventura shores up voters who might be nervous about Barr's past affiliation with Social Conservatives, and as a bonus he is a great speaker, huge personality, and media sensation. A Barr/Ventura ticket would be impossible for the MSM to ignore and with the endorsement and active support of Ron Paul, could give Republicrats a run for their money in November.

Note- I still support Ron, but as he himself says, this is a Freedom movement, not a Ron Paul movement, and we have to start facing the reality that Ron isn't likely to be an option come this November. Getting as many delegates as we can is still a priority, but we have to start augmenting that with an interest in other things (RP candidates for lesser offices like Murray Sabrin, the LP Presidential race, ect) as well.

Ventura is the package, RP

Ventura is the package, RP is content for a sure win :)

someone

get the bumperstickers ready for 2012-- just in case. I'll sport one 4 years in the making! Anyone know of any online stores that allow you to create your own? Perhaps a Bush/Cheney '08 would be a fun one to have ;-)

Paul/Ventura Maybe.

Exactly..

.. what I was thinking

Actually

Fortune Favors the Bold

in the unlikely scenario that happened, it would be great, in some ways better then Ron being president. Ventura could do all the ceremonial stuff, while Ron does the real work. Kind of like Bush and Cheney, only not, you know, evil.

Fortune Favors the Bold

I strongly agree

Ventura appeals to many that RP doesn't. It would be a great ticket.

Ventura/Paul 08!

I would only....

I would only vote for them if Ron was President.... and Jesse Vice

I didn't see any poll...

I didn't see any poll...

SUPPORT VENTURA/PAUL FOR PRESIDENT

I was one of the 85% that supported Ventura in the online poll. Hopefully now that his ego has had a good stroking he'll combine forces with Ron Paul and seriously pursue a presidential run. If we start pushing now I believe the people can take back the vote in 2012.
