Mine your own
Anyone who lives near gold country can mine their own. I can get about 1/4 ozt on any summers day on the beach near Port Orford, Oregon. On a winter day I can get a bit more. The 6-8 ounces I get every year may not be much by some standards, but it cost me far less than it would cost to buy an equal amount of manufactured gold. Some of the waste material is later processed by a professional smelter on a share basis, bringing in a little more each time I ship some heavy black sand.
The only true value of gold

They are a very ethical business with allocated (real live) gold that backs your deposits. Catherine Austin Fitts (www.solari.com) former Assistant Sec. of HUD and whistle blower extraordinare, has recommended James Turk's site due to her association with him and G.A.T.A. I recommend checking it out. I know people who have been scammed by e-gold and stormpay both in the thousands of dollars. If e-gold is being targeted by the government and is innocent I still would be dubious to place my money there. Goldmoney is in the Channel Islands and Switzerland not in the US

As soon as you get a bunch of money in there.. they have been known to lock the account and keep the money... They have been indited by the federal government, and have had many lawsuits against them.

E-Gold is a respectable operation BUT has come under attack
by the Feds..
This was due because you could buy e-gold, trade in e-gold, and then convert the gold back to dollars thru an ATM card. The E-gold kept the same value as Gold, because that is what you are buying. The SS didn't like this, because it circumvented the dollar and taxes. They have been persecuting these poor guys for years. Apparently to no avail, because they are still operational!

If you're going to be long gold
why wouldn't you take physical?
They "promise" that the e-Gold is backed by real gold. Um, doesn't our government promise the same thing with their FRNs?
