Professional Perspectives: Fluoride in Tap Water
Submitted by lastmovement on Wed, 04/02/2008 - 22:43
Part of a new series of "Professional Perspectives" on Fluoride. In this short video, Dr. Bill Osmunson -- a general and cosmetic dentist -- explains why he is now concerned about fluoride and water fluoridation.

Hmmm...I tried to submit this digg
but it kept coming back with an error message. anyone else care to try?
Fluoride is a POISON and we are forced to drink

You either believe it or you don't. Kinda like 9/11. But would it really surprise you? There is a history behind it, follow the trail if you're interested. If you can't, either your not interested, or it's working, and that's the reason they do it.
For an informed citizenry, individuals must discard the television set in favor of the acquisition of information via either books and/or the internet. An uneducated populous will remain in ignorance and thus continue to suffer the sharp ax of tyranny.
Digging
Digg has been censoring certain stories. I brought this up two days ago. They wont let me submit or share. It tells you something went wrong, we cant find your freinds, or just try again.
The strories I had the most problem with is the flouride, Jessi 9/11, and Paul at the convention.
It lets some things go through but not much. I tried over and over. 3 days ago digg was down in the middle of the day for a few hours. Since it came back its been rejecting articles.
Can someone tell me about reverse osmoses?

Whole House Water Filter & More
LOVE LOVE LOVE this Water Filter:

Great Health Info. Website and Ron Paul Supporter:

Watch What You are Eating:
Eat Only Organic Foods
Just because it's FDA Approved doesn't mean it's good:
No Vaccines or Flu Shots
While I think Aquasana
is sincere, I don't trust companies that make outrageous statements. They claim that lead only comes from internal (house) piping and that is way they don't remove lead from water (on their whole house system). This just a crazy statement. There is no lead in any water that doesn't come out of a house tap?
Also Google
what is in GMO foods. Where did MRSA come from and why all the super bugs? I will bet you the CFR people in the know are not eating or drinking any of this garbage. What is poison in all your food and in vaccinations? Are they trying to wipe out the lower and middle classes? Ron Paul (my first introduction to him at mercola.com) has sponsored a bill that would give us the right to choose natural medicine.
important stuff. Im glad too
important stuff. Im glad too see the concern. This isnt something to forget about were being used like lab rats.
The gmos foods have been tested on our dogs for years. Same with the RFID chip.

just wanted to bump this
just wanted to bump this one. it was up in the morning and worth reading.
go to fluoridealert.org
Here are a couple of
interesting links about water, since we're on the topic. ;-)

Is there any
common bottled water companies that dont have fluoride? Thats the worst part right now is not being able to even find water without it.
Aquafina or Desani
They use Reverse Osmosis on the water, so there shouldn't be any unless that put it in on purpose.
Filters
There are filters that you can use that will take some of the fluoride out of the water. The best would be well water, assuming you're not in an area that has naturally high levels of fluoride underground.
What filters have you found?
In six months of searching endlessly I have found only two filters that "claim" to eliminate fluoride though they have no documentation to back it up. You can eliminate fluoride through reverse osmosis or distillation though you can't use RO for your whole house and distillation would be a nightmare for anyone with hard water.
Yikes!
I've been using a Brita. I was really happy with this filter until now. The neighborhood kids have told me we have the best tasting water! I have to laugh because it is the same water they are getting. :) I knew it wasn't removing all the fluoride, but I thought it was removing more than it is. The Brita website says it only removes trace amounts or none at all. Makes my brain swell just thinking about it. Thanks for asking. I'm going to have to try to find a different filter. It probably would make more sense for me to try to convince the city to remove it or lower the amount.
Maybe someone knows of a better filter that doesn't cost a thousand dollars.
Are you looking for whole house or
just drinking water? If you want just drinking water, go with a Reverse Osmosis system, but make sure you get one with a one to one ratio. The big problem with most RO systems is that they use a lot of water to make a gallon of drinking water. Some cheap systems can use up to 20 gallons to make a single gallon. Most are 4 gallons to make on, but there are now systems that don't have any waste water. You may be able to change an older system by using a permanent pump which helps manage water flow and reduces waste water, but since I don't like RO water I have not investigated it.
Whole house filters get really complicated, so you can email me with a specific question. Please don't ask a general question like "what is the best whole house filter?" I have spent hours discussing this with people. If you want more general information I recommend "The Drinking Water Book" by Colin Ingram. It is great primer.
Check out Microlite
Reverse Osmosis adds acid to the water. That's another whole issue creating many health problems; you need your body to be alkaline.
Use natural toothpaste
You might get a cavity here and there, but that is a small price to pay.
I just took the kids to the dentist. He was trying to sell me the sealants again. I had them put in big letters on their chart "no sealants". Who would want an estrogen like plastic on their teeth? I would rather have tooth decay.
Sealants?
Never heard of them. Something new? Just for kids?

They are not new
They have been around for at least 35 years. I had mine done as a kid in the 70s. The doctors and dentists used fear tactics to get my mom to give us fluoride. I also took fluoride supplements and as part of a school program a fluoride rinse. I mine research I really haven't found any particuarly negative about rinses. It is mostly ingestion or absorption.
Sealants
The pediatric dentist I use puts sealants on the molars to prevent tooth decay. They paint the top of the tooth and then dry it. It is a plastic substance that stays on the tooth. Other countries have done some studies that have shown the estrogen like substance ends up in the blood. The dentist says he drys it before it can leak out, but I'm not buying it.
I was listening to Alex
I was listening to Alex Jones show a local candidate running for congress in my state called in. Started talking about Dr. Paul and trying to ban fluoride and other chemicals state wide.
And I never even heard about him.
Damn newspapers!

Time for a Test
I've just spent some time reviewing the information at fluoridealert.org, and now I'm suddenly wanting to get my tap water tested. How? Where? Cost?
Here in California, The Water Co. Sends a Report
Once a year I get a report from the water company saying what's in the water. The problem is knowing what the numbers mean.
I have a whole house filter. All I can say is my showers smell better.

Usually if the city is putting fluoride into the water
you can find out by doing a search on the internet. Just do a search for "fluoride" and the name of your state and town.
Thank you for sharing !
They have been putting fluoride in our water here in Nebraska for years.
We use to be off the grid since we are out in the country but then our housing edition hooked up to city water. So we have been buying reverse osmosis bottled water. But every time you bath your skin absorbs it. So we are looking into putting in a whole house reverse osmosis system.
fluoridealert.org
That is an EXCELLENT website. I am a nutritionist and have been very concerned about fluoride in the water. Everyone should go to this sign and sign the petition to demand congress do something about this.

I have met this dentist
I have met this dentist personally and I am quite amazed at his ability to genuinely point out the problems with public water fluoridation. As a dental hygienist that opposed water fluoridation in our community I can't tell you the HUGE taboo that thrives in the dental world around opposing this. Bill is a Ron Paul of the dental community. He's very good at not calling anyone names and says he used to believe in this stuff too so he understands the dentist's resistance. It takes another professional to open his peers eyes, of course not without a price. He is not longer invited or allowed to speak at many main stream dental conventions that he's spoken at for years. He is a top cosmetic dentist and yet he opposes creating more work for himself by creating fluorosis from too much flouride in your water, stains your teeth and requires expensive veneers on the front teeth. Awesome man! Thanks for posting.
Thank you for this.
I am looking at leaving my state when water fluoridation begins later this year.
I emailed my local representative yesterday and have heard nothing back. Australian government officials are some of the most arrogant you'll ever come across. But, then again, I live in a socialist country. Individuals don't matter.
