Are you guys like me in that...
Submitted by wpsmithjr on Fri, 04/04/2008 - 15:26Are you guys like me in that you are ADDICTED to the message of freedom?
Ever since I discovered Ron Paul, it's all I can think about.
I've been trying to figure out why, but I have no answer. Some things I've considered...
#1 Dr. Paul is the first politician I've ever seen that I felt I could trust. Most of them I can see right though. When I first heard him speak, and he was speaking the TRUTH... I was hooked. No lies. No pandering. No flip-flopping.
#2 The "Red pill - Blue pill" effect. When I started doing more investigation on the issues we are faced with, I began to feel like I'm living in a matrix-like reality surrounded by morons. Like Morpheus said, "I know *exactly* what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I'm talking about?"
I say I'm surrounded by morons, but until I found Dr. Paul, I was a moron myself. Thinking I was free... HA!
#3 The massive amount of information on the internet about the NWO, the U.N.'s policies, the NAU, the Rockefellers, the Fed, Bush. Lot's of info out there. Reading about one issue brings you to the next, and the next... etc.
#4 Now that I know what's going on... I see the evidence everywhere. All our policies and laws. The economy. The media manipulation. Etc.
I have free range of the internet at work, and I spend more time investigating and learning than I do working... like now.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I feel that I have been
I feel that I have been called to be a liberty and freedom fighter my whole life and didn't know it until a year ago.
I have always felt extremely out of the "norm" and always wanted to get away from it. Like it was some artificial way for someone else to live our lives for us.
I too want Paul to win, but I also fear that because of the powers at large. I think we need to concentrate on moving the message regardless of the presidency.
I know for a fact that he REALLY wants us to get that...we need to do it on our own as well. Because you never know what the future brings.
Peace and nice thread,

Tasting A Drop of Liberty Causes You To Crave More
Once upon a time, I had a blog.
It was a friendly, G-rated place. Topics were homeschooling, Disney, cake decorating, the adventure of raising kids, yadda yadda -- every hausfrau seemed to have one of these. It was a nice little hobby.
People would come on the site and start to "get political" and I'd gently steer them away from that and back onto lighthearted fluff. The last thing I wanted to tangle with was angry political infighting. None of that serious doom and gloom for me and my readers! There were plenty of political blogs anyway, so I'd sweetly but efficiently sweep such posters away from my site.
For years, I'd known of Ron Paul -- that Congressman from Texas who I long admired, but in a "sigh...if only there were more like him" kind of way; wishing he could be cloned, but resigned to the fact that he was a lone voice of reason in a crazy Congress. I revered him as a champion, but way back in the recesses of my mind, like a shiny trophy hidden in the dark corners of a dusty closet, since there's no way he would ever make a big impact in a national sense.
Then the fateful day came...I learned that Ron Paul was running for president. I blinked my eyes and shook my head: was I dreaming? I felt like I had just won the lottery. I cheered out loud and danced and laughed. (My kids hurriedly ran into the room and asked me what was the matter!)
Oh, that blog of mine? Suddenly (ahem), I was the one posting political topics, naturally about Ron Paul. But as I dedicated more online time to learning about RP and the liberty movement and everything going on, my posts on my blog became fewer and fewer...
It's been almost a year since my last post on my own blog. I can't go back to light 'n' simple fluff, not while the Liberty Bell peals its cry for help. My blog still sits there in cyberspace, biding its time, wondering whether I'll ever return to its friendly embrace. Nor have I been regularly visiting my other "fun" sites where I used to spend a lot of my online time (BoingBoing, The Disney Blog, etc.). I just don't have time for that right now.
So what have I been doing instead? In addition to continuing homeschooling, I've been going door-to-door to canvass and spread the message of RP; handing out slim jims in front of stores, trudging around my Bag O' Paul so I always have RP materials available to give to whoever I come across, passing out fliers and DVDs left and right, becoming a precinct leader -- who would ever thought that would be me?? Certainly not I, as I myself am the most surprised!
And yes, I do feel like an addict -- I need my "daily dose" ;) of freedom. I guess that's because I hope to help create a nation where we always have freedom...daily.
Yes, worse than a Crack habbit.
"Victory for liberty! That is our goal, and nothing less. -- Ron Paul, December 17, 2007"
Ron Paul is my President.
I had a call from Roy Blunt's office today. . .
it was part of a previous "town hall meeting chat on the phone" that happened about a week or so ago. I had all kinds of things to say if the phone conversation turned to me at that time, but it didn't. The phone call ended and I forgot about it.
Today the phone rings, the caller ID says Roy Blunt and the man on the other end - someone who works FOR Blunt - says. . ."about that town hall on the phone meeting. . .we were following up to see if you had any issues you'd like to get to Mr. Blunt."
Of course, I'm now struggling to remember what I had jotted down on that piece of paper! I did manage to tell him that I felt strongly about the illegality of the Federal Reserve. He acted like - what's wrong with the Fed. Reserve? He had all kinds of reasons why it was a "good thing" and I said. . ."well I just don't see a need to pay a private organization to print up money for us, that we then pay them interest on. When we could officially print up our own government money and NOT have to pay interest on it."
He said, " well don't you think that if the gov. printed up the money, what makes you think that they wouldn't charge you interest?"
I was quiet for a second and then I said, "well then we would have a problem. I also know however that both Lincoln and Kennedy printed up money to go into circulation and that they got killed!" I said, "banks will do what they will do, but I think that economics is the biggest problem facing every American right now. We all work our asses off and the Fed. steals our money by devaluing it in the form of interest rates which is their way of saying, we're going to print up more money out of thin air backed by nothing, making your dollar worth less!" He made some more remarks . .. trying to sort of belittle my concern and then I said. . ."look, let it go on the record that I am 100% against the Federal Reserve." He said, okay. He knew that I wasn't going to take any more of his defending the Fed at this point.
Then I struggled to remember what else I had written down!!! and I said, "what about Codex Alimentarius?"
He stumbled. . ."what?"
I said "Codex is the action that they are trying to force on the world to regulate the food that you eat, to distribute genetically modified foods, to include them into the food industry. I think we need to be moving toward organically produced foods not genetically enhansed foods. Seeds that are set up so you HAVE TO BUY SEEDS EVERY YEAR, because the seeds are only good for one season. Genetically modified to do who knows what to our bodies. . .and it also leads to the regulation of the food suppliment industry. . .I think that people should be allowed to make their own choices and not be told what they can have or not have, in terms of suppliments and vitimans.
I'm sorry but just on the spot those are the things that I can think of right now, our economy and what we eat. That's TWO very important issues to take on right now that I can think of. And I am also 100% against implimenting the Codex rules also."
He said, "okay, I have those issues" and I thanked him for his time, he said he would get this information to Mr. Blunt.
These legislators KNOW about these things, maybe this phone guy didn't know, but the legislators themselves SHOULD KNOW what Codex is, and how the Federal Reserve works. For those of you interested in investigating the Codex thing. . .http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?page_id=155
I was proud of myself for not wimping completely out!!!! I thought I nailed two good ones. And this guy was totally surprised that I had so much to say, and felt so strongly about it, and that I wasn't going to be swayed from my beliefs with just his defensive comments on those subjects.
whooohooo lets keep drivin' em back with some decent interaction and let them know "We're mad as hell and . . . . . ."
Damn, I just remembered that I REALLY wanted to tell him that I am 500% against chipping animals and humans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel the same way but can't help but feel I am alone in my
pursuit. We have all this distance that seperates us, and it just feels like we cannot connect enough to get something done. I can't explain it, I almost feel helpless because I feel like we are all lone wolves looking to connect. Now I sound like a weirdo, but I just feel like my hands are tied. Keep up the great work.
Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

That amazingly sounds familar
and so do your comments below...I thank God for Ron Paul and what he has done to give us hope and to bring us all together.
Oh and this...
I want to say one more thing about conspiracies. The Rockefellers, the Fords, Carnegie... all those big elite families from the first part of the century...
They are TWISTED. Sick puppies.
No way around it. And that's where a lot of our problems stem from. They care nothing about human life, only about greed and power.
Off the subject... that website, http://www.freedocumentaries.org ... it's great. Lots of good stuff on there. The one about the media, "Orwell Rolls in his Grave" really blew my mind. Definitely a good one to watch. It's decidedly left-biased, but even a stauch conservative like me could watch it without getting annoyed! Very eyeopening too.
Thanks guys and gals...
I really appreciate all the good comments. I wish I could've stayed with the thread, but I was at work and I have to keep my job. I spend too much time on here at work as it is.
I was watching that Glenn Beck interview with Dr. Paul on the front page, and I almost died when he said, "You know, I've never been a conspiracy guy... you know, a John Bircher. I always thought those guys were nuts... but now..."
I rolled around on the floor laughing. Even the media has some people waking up. They are fed their propaganda from the top down... all day, every day.
I want to make it clear though... I'm 40 years old. I've been hearing about the Fed, fiat dollars, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Rockefellers, Illuminatti... off and on all my life. I think it's one thing to hear those things, but it's another to really dig down deep and investigate them. The internet has gone along way to facilitate this, of course. I even read books about the stuff at different periods in my life, but it was just a single book here or there... never before did I have the world at my fingertips.
Anyway, my point is, it's one thing to know that there are people influencing the government... but you don't give it that much thought because you don't feel it really affects you from day to day... but it's another thing when they suddenly take away ALL of your rights.
When I first heard Dr. Paul, I was hooked back in. Big time. I used to never vote because I can't vote for most politicians. I can see right through them generally. When Dr. Paul spoke, I immediately knew he was telling the truth, and that I could trust this man. I've always been a libertarian-leaning republican anyway, but then to find a republican who voted the libertarian vote on every bill he voted on... I was amazed. This guy is really making some sense!
So it started with Dr. Paul. And researching 911. I went back and forth on the 911 thing at first. Now, I know it was an inside job. Whether they blew the buildings up or not I don't know, but there was knowledge of the attack... and "they" didn't do anything to prevent it... and even facilitated it happening. That's for sure. And Bush's nose is ALL IN IT. He should be impeached. Period.
Then, of course, all the conspiracy theory websites. I don't know if it's a smokey room kind of conspiracy... or if it's just greedy, power-hungry people... the ones who naturally end up at the top of the economic food chain... but... I know a lot of them are evil and self-serving, and that's all you have to know.
Anyway, thanks for keeping the thread alive. Just my 2 cents.
It is smokey room
if you define smokey room as smoke to cover the truth or cover your actions or cover your intentions. They definitely keep things secret, and that is NEVER good.
Smokey room as in devil as in evil as in burning hot...

I just woke from a nap
In my dream Dr. Paul won. It was on a squeak and a prayer, but he just came through very smoothly in the end.
Yes, I have been addicted since the moment I found out "oh my gosh, Dr. Paul is running for President and he is running in the Republican party. Game on." That was at the first debate for me. I have been so exasperated for years that the guy I wanted in would always run to get the message out and not to win. They would not run in the two party system which is the only way to win and even that is not easy. But outside the system, no chance at all.
That is the first of a million things that I mentally thank Dr. Paul for. Can you imagine how much more easily he lives with himself than others do. I don't see him doing anything wrong. At first I was nervous, waiting for slip ups. It didn't happen until now I just figure that if he thinks it or says it, then I need to figure out why cause if I don't agree, I must not understand. Although I seldom disagree. For example, support Israel. Yes. But what is the best support for Israel and "who" is Israel as spoken of in the Bible. I think Dr. Paul has it right and our oh so religious President is missing it.
The truth
The truth has set you free.
The truth is setting you free.
The truth will continue to set you free.

Changed me forever
Ron Paul and all the wonderfull folk from this site has enriched my level of understanding beyond my dreams. I thought I was one smart ass. Ha! Was I ever humbled after being introduced to the wisdom I found here.
I can't sit down and watch the news like I use to. I see through those folk with shame and sorrow. This grassroot stuff has so much substance to it. It'll take me months to process it all.
Life is good
Got Me
I am a complete addict now. I live for this. I have always loved politics but now I feel like I know the real answers to the questions. It is a giant game outside there, and I am not going to play the game anymore.
We are Powerful!

Born again?
Even as early as this January, beginning of it, matter of fact, January 4th - my brother's birthday, we met to celebrate in Orlando.
My brother had a sticker on his Jeep for Ron Paul. I made a joke to my husband, saying, "well, there is no confusion on my brother's candidate choice".
What a stumbling idiot I was.
As Florida primaries approched, I researched on the internet. Huck seemed good with his "flat tax" idea. Then one thing led to another.... and like floodgates opened.
I initially rejected RP when viewed one of his interviews for him not being "marketable".
What a bunch of horse sht it was!
He is an honourable, educated and commited person. I voted for him. I carry his sticker on my car and I have his yard sign on my lawn.
Now, I could have done more, such as knocking on the doors etc. etc. but that's not my personality.
In any event, good doctor wins or not - I believe the message continues and I am preparing my garden just because it's fun to grow your own tomatoes and other plants.
As the older people die out and young generation gains momentum, I believe it's inevitable that the message of freedom prevails and this country will turn back to it's roots. God bless the USA and RP.
Huck was
FAIRTAX, big huge difference from flat tax. Ron Paul is FairTax also. But only as a stepping stone to getting what he really thinks it should be, no income tax/no IRS.
Nothing is inevitable. You better find a new comfort zone if you want this to work. I certainly have. I just stuff my comfort zone and work, because the message is just to vital to our survival. This is a very, very old fight and not a new direction we are going in. It is a direction we are leaving because we have allowed "them" to get too big.
I feel your pain
I have become the same way and I was never into politics before.
This gives me great hope for the rest of America though. I figure if Dr. Paul could wake me up - there are more sleepers out there just waiting to be brought into our great Revolution.
I too was ignorant - but I continue to learn more and more everyday.
I am a delegate in Texas and am so excited to be a part of this reclaiming of America. We will go down in history and I for one will feel better for at least trying.
God Bless You All. I will never back down again!
I want to see what's beyond the illusion!!!
I am there with you about the Matrix and what pill I would choose!! Iam glad I chose the one I did and am speaking to you via the secure line. Uhh Ohh, Deja Vu gottta get moving----- No that was before now I am standing tall because I know where the power is!!! We are the ONE we have been looking for! :) :)
I know what you mean.
Nothing is as you thought it was.
It's like your whole life has been a lie!And once you fully get it,
there is no turning back. Now you are obligated to do something about it.
Me too.
But I think I can explain the addiction.
Consider: You have a deep and abiding sense that the world is ready to collapse around you, with only the politically powerful in position to ride it out ... at your expense.
Along comes Ron Paul, explaining why the collapse is the inevitable consequence of all the policies he's been arguing against and warning about for several decades. And he offers a solution: obey the Constitution, return to sound money, and stop trying to make government be your fairy godmother.
Who WOULDN'T be totally captivated? Who wouldn't be compelled to come back again and again for the comforting words -- words saying that we can make it, if we'll just agree that everybody has a right to be left alone unless they're messing with somebody else?
**The first two paragraphs**
of your comments have something magical in them and need to be copied to every paper's "letters to the editor" in the US. So get busy.
I have always felt the same way
Yet before I was hopeless Thankfully you guys have restored my hope and faith that maybe just maybe we can get back to the way things should be in these United States of America!!!
no..
i'm just obsessed it'll end soon...*_*
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
