So, let me get this right... we invade the country in an unconstitutional war, blow up buildings/men/women and children, destroy communities and towns, encourage aggression and additional terrorism with our messed-up foreign policy, hire private contracting firms (Blackwater, etc. that have no loyalty other than the almighty payola) who make BIG mistakes, give cost-plus contracts to greedy and detrimental firms like Haliburton (I could go on and on about that one), demoralize our troops with the senselessness of it all....

... and then we want Iraq to pay for its own reconstruction? (Pay Blackwater and Haliburton too?) Wish I had the links handy for all the videos on youtube to share, but you probably have all seen them already, eh?

Kinda proves the point that it was oil all along, eh? Or at least, about the green god of money...

We shouldn't be there

in the first place.

But since we are, I am with the Demcrats on this one. In fact, let's give Iraq a bill for the entire conflict. To be there is dumb, to be there and finance the entire thing with us paying $3-4 for gas is even dumber.

Do I understand you correctly that you believe...

...the victim ought to pay for the crime committed against it?

Tell me again how many of those guilty of any component of the attacks of 9/11/01 were Iraqi? Tell me again how many WMDs were recovered by our troops?

**I agree we ought not have gone to Iraq in the first place. But given our history of rebuilding the nations which we waged war against it would be extremely unjust to leave the Iraqi people to foot the entire bill for their own reconstruction. I don't like paying for the war, but I despise the idea of not helping the innocent victims of our chief DICK-tator even more.

So you think our children should pay

"I don't like paying for the war, but I despise the idea of not helping the innocent victims of our chief DICK-tator even more."

We are not paying for the war, we are borrowing funds to finance this war. You may want our children to bear this burden, I would rather have Iraq pay.
