A Ron Paul Republican in a statewide race in North Carolina
Hi, guys. I'm trying to get the word out about Eric Smith, a self-described Ron Paul Republican running for NC State Superintendant in the Republican Primary on May 6.
My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Smith at a recent Young Republicans meeting in Charlotte. I was discussing libertarianism with the chairman of the group when Mr. Smith and his wife joined us, and he asked what I thought of his former congressman's progress in the presidential race. I asked if he meant Ron Paul, and he smiled and said yes, he and his wife were both Paul supporters, and he'd be seeking Dr. Paul's endorsement of his candidacy. He has a Ron Paul bumper sticker on his car, and as part of his platform for NC, advocates tax credits for homeschooling parents. He also apparently ran for school board a few years ago in Rockingham County, with a bumper sticker that read, "Sell The Schools."
Mr. Smith is currently a farmer in Reidsville, NC, and, like us, advocates a return to constitutional principles in all levels of government. I strongly urge all NC registered Republicans (and especially Ron Paul supporters like myself) to vote for Eric Smith for NC State Superintendant.
Thanks!
