PBS Newshour analyst David Brooks mentions Ron Paul.
David Brooks & Mark Shields are the political analysts for PBS Newshour. Ron Paul's name came up [for the first time ever, AFAIK] during a discussion of Iran on Friday.
IMO, Brooks & Shields are blinkered party loyalists in lock-step with the leadership of their respective parties... so they'd never intentionally endorse Ron Paul - but I think this qualifies as an unintentional endorsement.
Here's the quote:
JIM LEHRER: But what about making a choice among candidates, "If you vote for me and I become president, I will do this about Iran." "No, no, no, I will do this." "No, no, no, I will do" -- is it possible to make these kinds of decisions?
DAVID BROOKS: Well, my view -- and whoever becomes president, with the possible exception of Mike Gravel and Ron Paul, will do exactly what we're doing now. They will try to ratchet up the pressure on economically. They will not do a military strike, because we don't know how that will wind up. They will do exactly what we're doing now, and all the rest, I think, is posturing.

It's unfortunate there was no follow-up discussion of where RP stands, but that would be too much to hope for from these guys. Their whole discussion of Iran was focused on whether the pressure from the U.S. would get Iran to abandon any nuclear activity.
[Perish the thought that it's any business of theirs whether another country develops peaceful nuclear power.]

If
IF Ron Pauls name was listed in every poll, then he would have a higher rating.
You Know Why?
Pundits like Shields, Gigot, Brooks, Lehrer, Rose, etc. will NEVER concede Ron Paul has any real shot until one of two things happens: either he registers in a poll at 15% or higher, or he wins a primary. If either of those incidents occur, they'll suddenly be talking about how Paul came out of nowhere, they thought this might happen, internet support is crucial now, etc.
Exactly right
EXACTLY. This is so true it hurts. As I've been saying, the media is stupid, not evil. And they will have to find a way to spin that they knew all along or that it was SO out of the blue...
