i stand by this as i have been all along
Michael Badnarik

Here's a condensed view of
Here's a condensed view of the sort of stuff we would hear from Badnarik as VP (drag the slider ahead to 3:45): http://www.archive.org/details/Bush_vs_Badnarik_Round_01
okay Sarah Pallin would be good
I look her up like you said and she'd be a very interesting choice...she's got some very good points to her.
Already a forum topic
There is already a forum on this topic... go there to pick up the conversation.
interesting option
I dont know enough about her..but she doesnt seem to put up with corruption.
This is the biggest issue in politics today that all things flow from...could be good.
Also we need to not go to hard core on the libertarians if we want to be elected.
We have to pull a good bulk of social conservatives and some of the candidate suggested will loose these people
I've said this before when
I've said this before when this subject has come up, and I think that Sarah Palin would be perfect. This gorgeous governor of Alaska has a record and views that match up perfectly with Dr. Paul's. She's smart, savvy, and a troublemaker for those who are dishonest or don't like to follow the Constitution, whether they're in her own party or not. Check her out.

Andrew Napolitano? That
Andrew Napolitano? That would be a cool match.
Support and Defend the Constitution!

I think the most powerfull libertarian alive would make Paul an unstopable candidate. Don't know if he would want to though...
vp
If its me electing a vp i would want someone who has the exact same views as me as the president.. NOT 1 POLICY could be different.. I wouldn't care if its someone well known or not.. that does not make a difference.. for me I like either Judge napolitano or a guy by the name of Richard maybury... if you don't know richard maybury check him out.. his views on government etc are exactly the same as Ron Paul.. google early warning report./ that is his news letter i have subscribed to for 15 years.. Judge Napolitano would be great except I think he would do the country better serving in the supreme court! my next pick would be Devvy Kidd.. you can read her articles at worldnet daily.. she is is Just like Ron Paul in her views an exact copy! this baloney of just getting someoen because they are famouse is stupidity.. sorry but thats how i feel.. we can't have a ronald Reagan with a george bush one worlder as the VP.. it don't work!

Hey McCain-----┌П┐(◣_◢)┌П┐
Please no "Niche" running mates!
I keep hearing everything from Phyllis Schaffly to Dennis Kucinich to my uncle who was elected town dog catcher. While I admire the desire to bridge any potential gaps we might have with certain groups, its the easiest way to pigeonhole Ron Paul in a general election. (A) We need someone who is fairly ideologically consistent (doesn't have to be perfect), (B) has held significant political office (proof they can win an election and have experience holding office), and (C) has (atleast some) name recognition to toss around. Here's the people that top my list according to these three important guidelines.
1. Jesse Ventura-Yes I know he is not a perfect Libertarian but he drew votes from the independent, left, right, and libertarian vote just like Dr. Paul. He's against the Patriot Act and the Iraq War, he' very pro 2nd Amendment and very tax-reform overhaul minded (get rid of the IRS). Moreover he dominates televised debates and was/is very popular with young, disenfranchised people who otherwise aren't political/voting types. He also has stated on numerous occasions that he is much more receptive to a vice-presidential nod as oppossed to running himself. On Ideological consistency I'd give him a 7 out of 10, on holding significant political office an 8 out of 10 and on name recognition a 10 out of 10.
2. Judge Napolitano-A Constitutionalist and libertarian through and through with plenty of airtime on television for politically oriented people to have known who he is. Political experience as a judge as oppossed to a lawmaker would help keep him above the fray on a lot of issues. Only bad thing I can say is if that comment about striking Iran is true. Ideological consistency 9.5/10, holding significant office 7/10 and name recognition 6/10.
3 Bob Barr-A former multiple term Republican Congressman from Georgia who nows sits on the Libertarian Party board of directors for the national party. He has renounced his old Drug War stance in the last couple of years and has been a leading privacy advocate (which speaks volumes since he used to be a CIA man back in the day). A former federal prosecutor as well as one of the iniators of the Clinton Impeachment charges (not the sex soap opera folks, we're talking China-gate, White Water, voting fraud and real corruption before the Republican leadership got a hold of it), he's not afraid to go on the offensive with corrupt people. Ideological consistency 8/10, holding significant office 9/10, name recognition 5/10.
Ok so these are in my opinion the best guys, lets see how they score...
Ventura-25
Napolitano-22.5
Barr-22
I doubt we can find a libertarian/constitutionalist purist who is also ultra experienced in government positions and gets treated like arock star, but I'll entertain any new suggestions as far as someone who can stack up against the big three.
The only choice for VP is...
Edwin Vierra, Jr. Esq.
If you YouTube him you will understand. Better yet watch Aaron Russo's documentary, "From Freedom to Fascism". After you listen to him you will know why he is the only choice.

I agree Taomaster
It should be a well known celebrity that knows his stuff and is in agreement with Ron Paul on most issues. Robert Redford or someone like him is needed. A future Ronald Reagan.
Jeff Flake of Arizona?
I have been checking his voting record. its pretty in line with Dr. Paul anyone know anything about him?
I don't know about VP but...
To rub salt in a wound he should make Stephonopolus Press Secretary, after all he's got to honor that bet he made.
VP suggestion
It should be someone that cannot be bribed, who is smart and knowledgeable about government issues, and has done a lot for individual liberty and expression. But is he available, in times of crisis, you never know. May I have the envelope please...., and the winner is Robert Redford. I think it would be a perfect match, Mr. Redford doesn't like the spotlight, so the VP's position, more a behind the scenes job, will cover Dr. Paul's back and make sure liberty is not allowed to be trampled by anyone. Hey, and the women's vote for his good look cannot hurt. What do you think? It was either Mr. Redford, or Cena from the Wrestling Federation, who represents American values, and he could be his bodyguard at the same time, not to mention the huge following he has. But more seriously, Mr Redford would be, for me, an ideal match.
Taomaster
redford??
Robert Redford?? you are kidding right/?/
gees!

Mark Sanford
governor of SC.Former congressman, voted with Ron Paul.Dr Paul told an audience in SC he would make a great VP.(SC voters could be helpful)
walter whitt
That is right choice,
That is right choice, IMHO.
It would kill Fredy Boring Thompson.
And he said he will never endorse Adolpho.
My kind of guy.
maybe maybe not
http://www.ontheissues.org/Mark_Sanford.htm
he does have some negatives on wto and visas
sounds like a good idea to get SC
have to check him out but gov of SC sounds strategic
Cam Cameron? Brit Hume?
WTF, who wants to vote for a Paul-Giuliani ticket? Get real. How about Pat Buchanan? No neo-con's on the ticket or they'd just assassinate Paul so Giuliani/McCain/Romney/Huckabee could get on and keep killing this country. You got to get someone in there that the elite would fear even more than Paul himself.
Clueless
I look at most of the VP choices promoted here and sadly, must conclude most of you don't have a clue what Ron Paul is about. He is about PERSONAL LIBERTY. That means if government has any proper function it is to protect the freedom and property of the citizens. Most of the VP choices listed here are hopeless big government lovers. Why would you saddle Ron's freedom message with a running mate who has made snuggling up to government power his life's goal. Hagel? He wants a draft. Nothing is more anti-liberty that that. Duncan Hunter? Get real. He's a full-on protectionist and raging warmonger. I can't go through all the names but bottom line is - if we want the Paul campaign to stand for something we can be proud of why undermine it with a VP too blind to share his vision?
marlow

I agree, and must add
We know we can count on Dr Paul to make a wise choice!
Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter are out...
They both voted for the Patriot Act, that is my litmus test. If you vote for something like that, without reading it, because you are "scared", that does not show true leadership. I like the two guys, but in a "time of crisis" they didn't show leadership by sticking with the Constitution.
I would really like to know South Carolina's governor's stance on the Iraq war and the Patriot Act...he voted very, very closely with Ron Paul while in Congress on the fiscal side of things, he is a self-made multimillionaire from real estate and we could use a good "Southern" endorsement right about now.
