The Delegates Are Coming
Tall Paul
Missouri Republicans will gather this Saturday morning to choose 27 delegates and alternates to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis.
Some of those delegates will almost certainly be supporters of Rep. Ron Paul of Texas.
Party rules require the delegates -- even Paul supporters -- to vote for John McCain at convention, since he won the presidential primary in the state (and it's winner-take-all for the Republicans.)
Some Paul supporters acknowledge this. Others are more coy, suggesting "anything can happen" at the convention and that Paul could still be the nominee.
The party will pick three delegates and three alternates in each of the state's nine congressional districts. Because delegates to the district conventions were picked earlier at county caucuses, though, where Paul delegates won some substantial majorities, it's virtually certain that Paul supporters will have seats in Minneapolis.
SEE YOU AT THE CONVENTION !!
Good luck,
