McCain meetup group banter

The following is some correspondence from a John McCain meetup group I joined recently.

Don't waste your time worrying about Ron Paul. It's just a sideshow.

Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2008 15:50:40

Even if they are Ron Paul people - if they were elected as McCain or Romney delegates are they not required to vote that way?

I did tell you I believe that Ron Paul people infiltrated the Mass. caucuses on April 5th and some were elected as McCain and Romney delegates. They are trying to contest them.

Tellmer,
Perhaps it would help if you told us specifically which states are a
problem. I followed the bound delegate count pretty closely (as I expect we all did) up through March 4th. Even the NY Times (which counts only bound delegates) had McCain at well over 900 delegates prior to March 4th. If I remember correctly McCain won both Texas and Ohio with more than 50% of the vote and Mississippi with more than 80%. So, with respect, your numbers just do not make any sense to me.

Andrea, My info came from each state's Secretary of state offices and the RNC delegation report. Remember not all delegate's are bound and that ones that are only 814 have been bond thus far to McCain. Campaign of course positive about it even the RNC is positive but it would not be first time in history it has changed at convention. I just concerned we taking our eye off the ball because of the conventions Ron Paul Supporters taking control of and then they get the national delegates. I have actually been talking with Rick Davis. And he says it a light concern but feels by September they just have to except McCain no matter what because RNC not going allow a Broker convention. But what if? thats all I am saying. I can break down all the information for you if you wish show you where 814 comes from. And in June I give you final numbers but also I interested I hope after Tue Ron Paul with draws that end it there maybe we should just send email to Paul campaign telling him to withdraw?

I just called the McCain Campaign offices just to make sure he has the requisite number of BOUND delegates and they confirmed that he does. I have no idea where Tellmer got this 814 number. I am all in favor of wooing Ron Paul supporters, and it is important that McCain have a good show of confidence at the convention- but the nomination itself is not in jeopardy.

John McCain excels at retail politics. People want a personable President first and foremost. Bush had charisma, Clinton had charisma and so did Reagan and Carter. As long as McCain remains the most charismatic running, and I feel he is, he should have no problem securing the nomination and sailing to victory against the Demos, who are not ready for primetime at this point. John McCain needs to worry about John McCain and the American people which I believe he is doing. Ron Paul is more of a prognosticator than a leader right now. We need a leader. John McCain is our man.

Tellmer wrote:
Andrea, I belive your correct they are doing a good job for us. But my concern still is the forces in this party. look lost delegates in AZ and people saying break delegate bond they have towards McCain and truth is he doesnt have it in the sack what our we going to think come national convention and the Ron Paul people take control there like they doing across the country right now in non-bound states? has it stands now McCain only has 814 pledge for sure bound delegates. I surprise you people dont see the threat. I mean in his own home state they ablie do that. I not trying be a doomer I just dont want us go in there with our pants down.

Not Plugged In

The MSM and the GOP loyalists are not plugged in to this gadget, the Internet.

They don't appear to use it as much as they should. Probably they only use e-mail and make a website for the candidate. This is why they aren't aware of who the winner really is.

The obstacle for us is to reach all the voters who aren't plugged in, either.

That means keep up the delegate and precinct process, because sooner or later this story is going to break: probably because we pull an upset somewhere.

Libertarians (big-L and small-l) rule the Internet. The Internet represents freedom and rational, principled protocols. It's no accident that the LP was the first political party to have a website.

This campaign has been conducted on three different parallel universes (if that's not impossible): in the media world, in the Internet world, and in the "real" world. We need to win in one more world.

Lesson Learned

Don't put into a Meet-up or group e-mail, anything you don't want to see published.

That pretty much includes what you might see here, on DailyPaul.

This is so much fun. ;)

As has been pointed out below, the grammatical and spelling errors of these posters is laughable!

" I can break down all the information for you if you wish show you where 814 comes from. And in June I give you final numbers but also I interested I hope after Tue Ron Paul with draws that end it there maybe we should just send email to Paul campaign telling him to withdraw?"

Holy crap that is a difficult sentance to read. I tried fixing it but I had to stop at, "...with draws that end it there maybe..." because I was just having too dificult of a time. I understand the meaning, at least.

It is funny to see people questioning things that are going on.

Keep sending us stuff like this! It is really nice to get some humor in here.

Telling him to withdraw???

Telling him to withdraw???

Please!!! Those people are so used to standing in a rank & file line they have no clue what a true patriot os all about.

Ok, TELL him to withdraw lol I dare ya!

TELL us to vote for McMore of the Same.. uh huh, see how far that gets ya!

We've only just begun to fight! WoooHoooooo Game ON!

By the way, does anyone know if the convention is televised or just "spun" durring breaks?

It's About Time

The R3volution has only begun. Just goes to show you that the even the main drain media blows thing out of proportion and even the supports of a propped up candidate know that. We WILL make a difference. Too bad Ohio's 88 unbound delegates are awarded to party alumni, because we could have had a hell of a force here in Ohio.

haha

That's some beautiful intel, kinda makes me glad I at least try and avoid spelling and grammatical errancies.

bump

what if all the RP delegates refuse to show up or vote on the first 2 ballots, wont that force a brokered convention?

Those poor poor souls

can't even write proper english! Now we know who the 2% SUPPORTING MCCAIN are (The rest of course are Diebolds voters)!

Those Poor, Misguided Souls.

Despite the composition flaws, at least Tellmer has grey matter enough to recognize that InSane's nomination is not in the bag. That puts him/her ahead of the rest of the pack at that site.

Let's do remember that there are folks here on DP who have brilliant minds, but lack proper education (thanks mostly to our stellar public school systems). Typos and grammar faux pas are far more readily forgivable than well-constructed sentences containing tons of tripe (McCain charismatic????).

I don't laugh at them. I cry for them.

Manystrom

Needs to start a forum for McCain comedy. This would file under that for sure.

We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?

Amazing:

I never understood how he could get any support at all. I think I get it now. His supporters are at the same mental I.Q. level as McStain.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

And I thought the spelling, grammar, and syntax *here* was bad;

those mccainiacs are atrocious!

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

LMAO! Those McCainiacs ARE

LMAO! Those McCainiacs ARE threatened by Ron "The Prognosticator" Paul, aren't they? I love it!!

And I echo an earlier post - they're kidding themselves if they think a RP supporter would EVER vote for McCain!

northstar's picture

Hmmm, very good banter indeed !

Perhaps Mr Nystrom could start a new blog channel called the McCain Files and we can put whatever we find from their groups into the new blog.

Awesome

Awesome

silly for them to think

that Ron Paul supporters would EVER vote for Juan McWar and even more silly to classify him as charismatic. Ugh.
