The TV Ad Sucks

One step forward and two steps back. They should use real people with better statements and more energy than anything seen or said in this ad. They should use real energetic supporters of Ron. I have seen many on YouTube.
Actors won't be able to broadcast the energy of an enthusiastic Ron Paul Supporter. People pick up on that energy.
This ad simply had no spark. I called Ron Paul HQ and told them, The TV Ad Sucks!

This ad has real people with

This ad has real people with NH accents. It was locally produced I'm sure. They might be actors or they might not. My guess is that most people would come across like that if you asked them to read lines so they are probably not professional actors. They do look like real people even if they are speaking scripted lines and well groomed. Come off it -- you don't put ugly or unkempt people in commercials. You want real people who reflect how you might look when you are trying to look good. The over-produced Romney stuff is awful. Lots of people are see right through that.

This ad is clearly targeted at independents who are just taking notice of the candidates and who may have been ignoring the race up to this point. My guess is the strategy to reach registered Republicans directly is well underway through party events, mailings and phone campaigns. Their big play here is pulling in large numbers of independents. If they agreed strongly with all of Ron's positions, they would either be active in the Republican or Libertarian parties.

Like that smart girl on Tucker's show said yesterday, Ron knows that people will vote for him even if they don't agree with him on everything and for him to admit that openly and to court those people is possibly a strong strategic move that helps set him apart. Other candidates have their finger to the wind or else try adjust their positions to fit some "electable" profile.

The really attractive thing about him that connects with people first -- if they are not already very passionate about any of his issues -- is his character. That comes through on his face and it is in this message. As people look into him, they will become informed about issues and will find at least one or two things to strongly connect on.

On the whole -- this is a good first commercial. There are four more that have been produced already and I'm sure some will like others better than this one.

My suggestion is that he should have smiled at the beginning and they should have said, "Learn more at RonPaul2008.com."

Once on the website, they will get sucked in and become committed voters.

I TRUST RON PAUL

If we do not trust Dr. Paul now with his TV ads---how can we trust him with our furture. I personally let go of the money I send him and I trust his judgement. We are not lobbist or special interest groups. We need to encourage and let him do what he believes is best. The message is there and this grandma understood it---so will New Hampshire. Peace

Dr. Paul 2008

TV ad

Ron did not make the ad, so not a matter of trust. He always welcomes opinions of others. Some of the comments are too harsh, but people would not do so if they did not truly care. When you yell at your kids, is it because you hate them?

Campaign headquarters is hopefully aware of the comments and will make different types of ads in the near future. It serves to get his name out and will be beneficial....just not as much as it probably could have been. I don't think the other campaigns have the benefit of all the critiques. Be thankful we have them. We also know that some like yellow and some like purple.

The TV AD is terrible. The Campaign must make a better one!

All I can say is wow ... how awful was that?

Here we have real, impassioned grassroots support (by knowledgable citizens) for Ron Paul all around the Country, and yet they make a phony TV Ad with a bunch of boring, half-alseep, awkward people saying nothing but contrived, forced, things.

It looked so fake and phony.

Where is the real energy?
Where is the real enthusaism?
Where is the real inspiration?
Put That In The TV AD

Get the real thing out there.
Get the real energy out there.

Geez, this Ad was so phony it made me feel like I was watching a Joe Lieberman commercial.

TV ad

THEY COULD HAVE DONE A LOT WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's all try to hang together.
We're really just getting started.
IF we can all show the peace and calm spirit
and determination that Dr. Paul has we'll all
do so much better in the long run.
Dissention is everywhere.
All amateur and professional ad critics please unite!
Arm chair quarterbacking won't get us very far.
AND please remember, telling the truth in politics is always difficult.
Have you heard the old saying--a lie can travel around the world
faster that the truth can get out of the gate?
That's about all I can say but RON PAUL,RON PAUL,RON PAUL,
RON PAUL RON PAUL RON PAUL RON PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sincere best regards to all of you!

the TV ad still sucks. and

the TV ad still sucks.
and it is important. I couldn't believe it was an actual ad from his presidential run. everything they've done so far has critics. the radio ads. the pamphlet. certain appearances.
you can argue about all of that.
but the TV ad sucks.
even ron paul looks uncomfortable in it.
