Reader Eric sent along the following image as a suggestion for the Possible Drudge Report Ad
Click here to see how it might look on the Drudge Report
Eric says: You are welcome to use the image or pass it along if you wish. ("Patriots for Paul" is not a PAC...its text was just placed as a demo.)
Save our Constitution!

This is bad
Does no one have any taste anymore? Uncle Sam looks creepy. Ad is too antiquated. Too pushy. Doesn't say much.
Can we please use a picture of Ron Paul? Can we please put "for President" somewhere?
The whole point is to stir
The whole point is to stir the patriotic ideal within people. It's turning the, we want you to fight for uncle same to fight an enemy. It's we need you to Vote for Ron Paul, to SAVE the constitution.
It's says more, by not saying much at all...
- Save the constitution? It must be in danger...
- Vote? ah it must some election..
- Ron Paul? - whose that? google...
It spikes awareness, which is the point of ads right? apart from informing, which this lacks - it makes up by doing so when people go find out about him.
exactly exactly exactly
And...that the (stereotypical) uptight militant patriot who needs desperately to understand Ron Paul's message -- and is currently supporting tools like Giuliani, McCain, or Hunter -- would feel compelled to click on an image which screams, especially to them, "Ron Paul is a Patriot...Ron Paul an American Patriot! It is our duty to support Ron Paul! I've got to know more about my Fellow American Patriot Ron Paul!" : ) Seems to me -- unfortunately -- a heck of a lot of male Republicans thought like that, pre-Paul. I know part of me did.
Loveolution!

Propaganda?
This is the exact kind of classic propaganda that the government used to persuade my mother and father at my age. (The nazi's used it to). The same propaganda that made me wake up to my government and get behind Ron Paul.
Wake up or Waco!
Perhaps if this were the
Perhaps if this were the 1940s I'd agree, but it's not. This stuff is viewed differently today. Nobody gets teary-eyed with patriotism when they see Uncle Sam anymore. He's just a fun, campy character.
Awesome!
Imagine, THIS as a FULL PAGE AD. It should go into EVERY major newspaper.. dunno the $ though.
Would surely get people sparked. Vote for what? Ron Paul? Who is he? - [enter google] ;p
Can you have eric send me this file
Its looks good. We might be able to rotate this in with our other ad... and or use it on other online sites.
I would need it in .psd
cordozza at mac dot com
thanks
.psd file
Hi, just email Inspired AT FactualFiction.com if you would like psd authoring files.
Open to suggestions on how to tone down "Uncle-Sam-the-Dictator" interpretations...very much appreciate where such criticism comes from...but...it IS Sam, not Stalin. ; )
And frankly with over 60 percent of Drudge Report viewers being Republicans, 23 percent Independents, and 78 percent males, maybe a strong traditional figure like Uncle Sam would resonate with them, and, eventually lead to further reflection and appreciation for the peaceful individualistic message of Freedom and personal responsibility offered by Ron.
Wouldn't you want those most susceptible to manipulation by "totalitarian" patriotic imagery to be drawn into reading Ron Paul's speeches at: http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/ or listening to the ideas of our Founding Fathers at: http://www.ronpaulradio.com/ or http://www.ronpaulaudio.com/
Those who might identify most with the tradition and strength embodied in this image may be in most need of hearing Ron Paul's message.

Just make sure the PSD isn't
Just make sure the PSD isn't released into the wild, or the neo-cons will just replace the name and use it themselves. :-P
