Americans
Americans are not yet in enough pain. We've had it so easy for so long that they are still watching sitcoms, cartoons and reality TV. If the cable goes out, now that will do it.

Sometimes there are good things
on TV. This speech was one of them. Too bad people don't get it. It is rather sobering to think that we have all slept while this has been going on. Only now are there rumblings of something terrible happening but what do you do? We are doing the best we can with God's help.

The last Depression
everything was fine until you had to jump out a window. But it took 5 years to get to the point that it crashed.... people knew, they just didn't want to focus on it.
I once used the frog analogy on DP... people are using it here sometimes. It was told to me by someone far wiser than I, but I'll share it again.
If you take a frog and throw it into a pot of boiling water, it will jump right out. However, if you put the same frog into a pot of cold water and heat it up slowly, it will sit there until it dies.
Same analogy here.
