How did you choose your Daily Paul "handle"?

DP classic unleashed, originally published Apr 30, 2008.
Your thoughts, please ...

I was just curious, looking over the list of "Who's Online" earlier today, about some of the very interesting and sometimes bizarre log-in names that people use here on the Daily Paul. I thought it might be fun to share how those of you with some of the more strange names (Martfuncher, HolyNinja, Mashthegas, etc.) arrived at them, if you don't mind telling.

That's funny...

Much better than my lame attempt.

...not too hard to figure out. Actually, first used it last fall for an anti-HuckaBEE youtube video I did. Worked great as a teaser to draw Huck fans, thinking I was one of them :-) Boy did they get a surprise! lol

Personal experience, belief, hope and the stupid movie!

Greed is bad for you, for me, and for the country. I was 5 or 6 when I earned money for the very first time. Since then, I always wondered what money is, but I became a serious student of money, personal finance, various markets and the economy about 10 years ago. A few years later, I was able to spot the coming gold and silver bull market in the late 1999. Anyway, one strange thing that I've learned is that being generous seems to help me a lot financially. On the other hand, greed is bad. I believe that there is a secret of success hidden somewhere in there. I hope someday most people will natually say, greed is bad. Then, I think this country will become a much better place. Alternatively, I was going to pick GENEROSITYisGOOD. But, I really dislike the movie Wall Street and I think that this country went downhill really quick after the idiot said "greed is good" and many people liked the stupid movie. Thus, I picked GREEDisBAD.

I was making a jab

at George Stephanopoulos and Bill O'Reilly after the not very nice way they treated RP.

I combined their names, Stephano-/-O'Reilly, and made them into a uni-person, "stephanoreilly".

Because they struck me as bratty kids with their insulting treatment of RP, the rest was added like a schoolyard taunt.

Didn't pay attention, so now I look like a guy named "Stephan O'Reilly". Like "Duff" below, I'm not a dude, either, but such is the beauty of anonymity on the internet.

dictionary and it had name definitions. I learned that my name means
"queen bee". Now I am a grandma and my grandkids call me "honey". I tell them I could not be sweet without them. They are my little bees and they turn me into "honey". They call my husband "Bear".

I'll give you

3 guesses...LOL

I'm a fan of Walt Disney

I'd change it to "fanofRonPaul", but hey, that goes without saying.

Gotta say, I love the "El Kabong" reference earlier in the thread..."and his sidekick, Babalouie!"

Fortune Favors the Bold

I thought it was Walt Whitman.

Fortune Favors the Bold

We could learn a LOT from Walt

Seriously, there is a lot we in our movement can learn from a book that came out some months back, entitled "How To Be Like Walt".

I wrote a post about this here some time ago, but it got nary a glance...too bad, because there is a lot of strategy and smart thinking to be garnered from that volume. All the setbacks he encountered and how he handled them; his mindset to always "keep moving forward" and so much more. We could use it as a virtual playbook in many ways.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: this work is extremely valuable and should not at all be thought of as a book whose appeal would be limited to those who are...fans of walt. ;)

Fanofwalt, I guessed that

Fanofwalt, I guessed that was your meaning in the handle.

Many share your idolization of Uncle Walt..I know I do.

Should have changed my name

To fan of Kevin. his cartoons hit home

there were some musicians that came to town,

ranger rick, I don't even remember the other names, but they were a funny act. my friends started calling eachother by names like rangertim, and camperk . . . I just thought it was funny and it caught on as we started to learn how to play pool at the "central inn" in cape girardeau, drinking draft stag beer that was pretty good - draft. not soo good in a can. stray cat strut was big in those days. fun days. since they kicked me off with my first name, classglass because of swarming coast to coast's email box, ha ha ha!!!!! - as I make stained glass windows - so I reverted to camperk.

I named my son, my son named me

Well, he suggested it as a good slogan followed by, "What is the question?" It is not my first.

freedumb is not free! came up with mine after i woke up to the truth and realized how i was living. Ignorance is only bliss until the truth smacks you in the mouth like a ton of bricks

freedumb is not free!

It is the name of our band. also the time the clock struck in the first sentence of 1984

Simple...its my name

But I will dance in the streets if Ron Paul wins this fall. :o)

I got the

first part, of course, from the nature and peace book by H.D. Thoreau. The last part means "a model of excellence or perfection", which I think Walden, RP, and the Constitution all are.

Dailypaul rocks too!

Mine comes from a drug called Ketoprofen (oruval) or a Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) for osteoporosis.

It's a joke cause I am a very active person and from all the sports I have played and altercations I have been through in my life causes my to joints to sound like the popping that comes from walking on bubble wrap.

A Doctor in a office my mom used to be an X-ray tech at said you will need that one day to me jokingly and the name stuck in my head. I have used it ever since.

We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?

It's the same one I use all over the Web

So why be complicated about it?

Besides, "Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious" is too long. :)

Just wanted to bump

I love this thread and wanted to bump it back up to see if anyone else would share how they chose their names.
Akak this is very interesting! I have read them all.

If you can work out my username, your IQ is higher than Bush's.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Funny....LOL I'm smarter than Bush!!! woohooo

I am glad you asked

I thought, "Well, I am just one for Paul" and feeling rather three musketeerish, I wrote "paul4won" and I know it is a stretch, but it was a screen name. I also happen to share email accounts with my husband, so we joined this place under his name. Between my screen name, anyone checking the account finding a man's name there, I believe I have left many people here with the impression that I am a moody, whiny, girly-man. I am not. I am a moody, whiny, girly woman. ;) Now the record has been set straight at least once!

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Mine is pretty easy..
