How did you choose your Daily Paul "handle"?

DP classic unleashed, originally published Apr 30, 2008.
Your thoughts, please ...

I was just curious, looking over the list of "Who's Online" earlier today, about some of the very interesting and sometimes bizarre log-in names that people use here on the Daily Paul. I thought it might be fun to share how those of you with some of the more strange names (Martfuncher, HolyNinja, Mashthegas, etc.) arrived at them, if you don't mind telling.

Because I

Want 2 be free. I started my quest right after 9/11. I just couldnt except a few things that were presented to me. So, I spent several years researching and reading every article from both sides of the fence. I have learned more than I care to know. I never cared much for politics before 9/11. I didnt fully understand the ramifications of my apathy and the apathy of millions of Americans. This is the price we pay for our compliance. Servitude, War, Poverty etc. I grew up to believe we lived truly in the land of the free, and I found out nothing could be further from the truth. Its sad how the people are being controlled by the media in this country. I once told a apathetic man we were not free, He told me if I didnt like living in America to leave. I told him as he walked away, that being a little bit free is like being a little bit pregnant, you either are or your not. There has never been any grey area there for me, I only see black and white. I have lost credibility amongst, family, friends, and coworkers etc, and been called conspiracy theorist, kook, tin-foil hat wearer. etc, for just wanting to know the truth. I am willing to give all for my country, just to get it back. I am ready and I am also female.

For what its worth,

I admire your integrity and I'm glad you are here :-)))

Thank you for starting,

[akak] Thank you for starting this fun thread. I find the replies' in this thread interesting as well as the admirable participation. I like mine but I'm sad I can't review my posting history :-( I've heard that it was a software glitch? I'm afraid if I try to re-register I'll lose the name. I should just ask "Mike" if he can fix it. I've noticed some trigger happy patriot(s) here that have questioned my intent, based solely on the fact they could'nt check me out. I understand their frustration as I share it... As for your "handle" Its easy to remember and very easy to input on my [QWERTY KEYBOARD] :-p Thanks again, too all.

"Khomar" was originally a somewhat minor character in a fantasy series I was attempting to write in Junior High long ago. Later he was transformed in Khomar Tyrinian, a role playing character in the Star Wars universe that gained a certain notoriety with my friends. It then became (and continues to be) my favorite name to use in various computer games from "Need to Speed" to "Age of Empires". When I joined the Slashdot community, I created an account under the same pseudonym and continue to use it on various web sites to this day (including Daily Paul and Townhall).

It really is strange how attached I have become to this fictitious name I made up in the mid 80's, but there you have it. You might even see it pop up again if I ever decided to finish that fantasy series someday... but I think he will probably be a central instead of minor character this time. ;-)

My 1st handle based on my country of origin..and my current one

is the Spanish name of a very popular thoroughfare in my old country which literally means..."liberty"!

¿De cual pais es usted

¿De cual pais es usted originalmente?

a native of RP...

thus my 1st handle was "RP_Native" (which also equates to "I BELONG to Ron Paul")...the land of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

...the land known for novels such as "El Filibusterismo" and "Noli Me Tangere"...which had spurred our own Revolution....against 333yrs of tyrannical Spanish rule!

What an interesting and

What an interesting and amazingly eclectic variety of backgrounds! Thanks everyone for posting here.

I've used this nickname for just about everything online for about 10 years now. I wanted something related to the fact that I speak Russian, and the phrase "piss like a Russian racehorse" popped into my mind. And the rest is history. It's a little vulgar, but I like it.

By the way, you can always visit me at http://www.russianracehorse.com!
Don't blame me! I voted for Ron Paul!

Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!
Came from playing the game EverQuest. It is a little bit of a play on words.

Gale: A strong wind

Strong Wind Razorwind

I have been using this name a lot, such as for my YouTube channel.

I chose Hayek because of the Author of Road to Serfdom.

My name

Before I heard of Ron Paul, I was and still am, running an adult chat room. Its the called Anti Social Club..and we are called Misfits because we come from all walks of life..and all wanted a place where we could chat without the normal chatroom bs-back stabbing-trouble making-lying-two faced assholes..and so on...
And I don't want any of that from my government either..so it seemed natural to pick the name Misfit4Peace

Freedom is another way to God...A corrupt government is a straight way to hell.

I believe in Hope & Change..I Hope the government will Change
Spindale-Rutherford County-North Carolina

i use this name a lot

it is my screen name for everything. it came to me because the john lennon song working class hero was stuck in my head." they hate you if your clever and they dispise a fool." and at the time i was 26. now i am 27 but can't be bothered to change all the names because of 1 number lol..

Ron Paul FTW!! sorry i haven't been on here in awhile...my pc was messed up...

Ron Paul FTW

Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!

Is my current name on Steam. I use it in Team Fortress 2 and Counter Strike: Source. I was going to make a character in Tabula Rasa named Ron Paul, but Paul was taken already.. I should have tried PaulFTW...

For those of you who aren't internet lingo savvy, FTW means For The Win.
Similarly, FTL means For The Lose.

Have you ever noticed how many of us like a play on words?

It's common among writers (me) and scientific types (me) and programmers and others who work with computers (me). We like layers of meaning.

Mine is both a statement and a description.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

One of my favorite 80's Christian music artists (see-tagline)

wrote a song about liberation from fears that speaks volumes, and I thought it fit well with the freedom message of Ron Paul.

Not so special...just habit.

It is a screen name I have used for years. My Grandmother started using the computer in her late 70’S and I made it easy for her to remember…My name and where I live. She is in PA where I grew up; she is now 85 and still online. She is a member of the Red Hat Society and her group is very active and they love Ron Paul. She is also one of our stalkers that never logs on…come on GrannieAnnie or Farmlady come play with us. Love you!

Late 70's?

Wow ! Thats going back to the (DOS) era.... Cooool!

No my Grandmas age was in her late 70”S when she came online. Never doss always windows for her, about 6 or 7 years now. Before that she was on her ham radio way out in the woods meeting people across the world. I will never forget the day she picked up her rotary party line to inform us she had made a new friend in Nova Scotia. She is a hoot to be around.

My name?

Dream to BE although my state is more free than some others.

I had mine long before I

I had mine long before I came here, and I think it's pretty self-explanatory. It just expresses my philosophy of life.

Hanna Barbera hero

I use this name on a lot of accounts. My favorite cartoon from the 60s--Quick-Draw McGraw in a recurring role as a Zorro rip-off who can't sing and who uses his "gee-tar" to "ka-bong" the bad guys. (Some clips can be found on YouTube.) Oh, and I was born June 1.
