My Try at an Ad

"My opponents justify the war by making you fearful of terrorism. Let me assure you, terrorism is real and we need to be strong in the face of these threats. However, an endless war in Iraq and the president's rhetoric the other day about the crisis in the middle east leading to WWIII only serve to weaken our national security interests. Our military is stretched thin and our economy is burdened with the debt. Both of these problems mean that we are weaker, not stronger, by continuing our current policies."

"Its going to take courage to change our present course. The people of New Hampshire are not strangers to courage. Your minute men militia fought bravely in the revolutionary war. Today, I want to ask you to join me in my fight for the presidency of the United States, you don't have to be afraid any more."

good quote

.. I would add something like:

- we invaded Iraq even though Iraq had no connection to 911 - that Iraq has never attacked us nor has Iraq threatened to attack us

- now that we are in this unconstitutional war we had no valid reason to start, our military personnel are overstretched, leaving us WEAK right here in the heartland ... no one to protect Americans right here at home.

That might make them think a bit.

is all they usually get. As you said, I'd love to explain it all to them. The thing is people work off emotion. If you remind them that they are being manipulated into feeling fearful, that should invoke a powerful emotional response and turns the tables on the neo-con arguments.

We should all be doing this

and thinking about this. This is what separates those who only criticize (easy) and those who work toward something better (much more difficult). So here's my critique: An ad such as this appeals and interests those of us who are ready to believe its message. I think in writing these ads we should first write what we think the objective is with it; and then as the critiques come in, they need to be based on how well they met their objective. With enough people approaching it this way, we can then start to see which objectives we should start working toward writing ads for.
I think an objective we should immediately start working toward is back a few steps at name recognition (directed at the average New Hampshire citizen).
Another is getting people interested in finding out more for themselves.
Please keep the ads coming. I'm working on one also.

Just Keep Hammering Away at the Issues

and appeal to people's emotions. We have to gently turn them to our viewpoint. The other Republicans use fear to refute Paul. We have to address this in some way. It is the primary way that they attack us.

Ok.

So what are our objectives?
- To get as many of these people's votes for Ron Paul in the New Hampshire Primary.

This leads to the question; how to best do this?
- Main-stream Media

What can we do to further our objectives in the MSM?
- We cannot influence reporting of stories etc directly. So the answer is advertising.

- Effective & efficient advertising of Ron Paul's message, will educate / inform potential voters about Ron Paul. Depending on the target audience, (deemed by time slot, state, demographic etc.) his message should be tailor made to suit the audience, thus engendering more success, due to the 'better fit' (tailoring)

[Lol, please note - no history in the industry, is it obvious? haha. Just trying to think it through philosophically / which has made me tired. Enjoy the day, I can't be assed to cont. will revisit soon. I'm off too DREAM about Liberty! ;)] and as Edward Marrow famously signed off; "Good night & Good luck".

Thanks for the Input

My objective is to turn the tables on the establishment and show them for the chickenhawks they are. They argue that RP is a nut job for wanting out of the mess we are in. They do this by appealing to our desire for security. We have to fight fire with fire. Lets make them look like they are lacking courage and they are fearful and we are reasoned and courageous. Besides, it isn't like it isn't the truth.

In a nice way, of course.
