I just gave away Dr. Paul's book to a total stranger!
So I'm sitting in my favorite cafe checking out the DP on my laptop with my copy of Dr. Paul's new book sitting next to me, and a woman walks up and asks me if the book is mine. Of course I say yes and we have a short conversation about how long I have known about him, she tells me that she has heard of him but doesn't know much about him, she asks if I am a politician (I tell her I'm running for central committee), and it just strikes me to give the book to her...
So I tell her "I will give the book to you, but you must promise me one thing - that you will give it to someone else when you are done with it. That way, it will be like giving it to two people, or maybe even more!" She says "Ok, thank you!" and walks away smiling.
Damn, that felt good!!!

i was just getting the back window on my convertible fixed
the shop owners are a married couple. they told me i could turn the tv on if i'd like while i wait. i told them i no longer watch tv. they said neither do they because it's depressing. i told them my time in Iraq had opened my eyes to how much bullshit we are fed via television. so that started another discussion about my time in Iraq. the wife, Heather, told me that they are both book worms now because tv sucks so much. well in my hand i just so happened to have my copy of The Revolution: A Manifesto. she saw it and asked me what i was reading. i told her it was Ron Paul's new book. she said that she'd never heard of him. i gave her a brief rundown on him. to cut the story short i got three people at the shop who are going to buy the book.
the best part is when i woke up this morning i had a feeling i was going to need some copies of Freedom to Fascism. so i burned a few before i left to take my car in for repairs. well my intuition was right. i told them about the movie and she started to write the title down. i told her she need not worry because in my arm rest i had a few that she could have.
they offered to give me a discount because i'm a veteran and such. i told them i would like something else in return. that they promise to read The Revolution and watch Freedom to Fascism. and when they are done to start telling others about Ron Paul and the millions of people that are fighting to win our freedom back.

I ordered three (I was hoping to keep one for myself). I ended up giving one to a guy at church, our building security guard here at work and a co-worker. I'm going to have to order more.
I gave one to my Dad, best
I gave one to my Dad, best bud and my UPS guy who voted for Ron but was skeptical of Federal Reserve "conspiracies." haha. He wasnt so skeptical after Freedom to Fascism and "A Case Against the Fed" by Murray Rothbard. He was thrilled to get it as a gift!
I also plan on giving one to a random police officer, the Mayor (signed by 20 of my friends) and other local reps and a bunch of other friends. Too bad amazon wont ship til the 27th for me.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
That goes for Truthers & Non-truthers a like BTW.
The Mayor!?!?!
That is brilliant! Ron is coming to San Diego on May 23rd for an appearance at City Hall. Jerry Sanders is getting one for sure!

Great ideas!
I think it would add some umphh if there was a way to stamp the good Doc's signature at the top on the front page like on the Constitution or something... leaving room for all the other Herbie Hancocks in the free world.
It might be a good Idea to get these books out to the soldiers oversees as well... Not for certain how though, I hear the mail system undergoes challenges these days.
I too have bought
multiple copies and have been giving them away under the condition that they too give them to someone else with the condition that they too give them to yet another person. It's a great way to keep it circulating.

I`m doing the same thing here with the 100 copies I`ve bought of "Wer ist Ron Paul - Der Kandidat aus dem Internet" ("Who is Ron Paul? The candidate from the internet"), the new book about the Revolution in german.

It might not be bad if right after you buy them at the store
to hand one to the clerk cashing you out and saying read this it is one of the most important books you will ever read, and pass it on when you are done. That clerk may recommend the book to people coming in to that particular store. Keep up the great work everyone. I am going out to buy five this weekend, maybe ten if I can't help myself.

This is great!
For anyone who can afford to do this it's brilliant! One could always buy a few at $11 from Amazon and then bring one in to the store to give out while buying a new one at retail.
We really should combine the highlights of this thread with fanofwalt's original thread into one big buying tips post and see if Michael will put it on the front page.

Very good idea
hope you get another copy soon.
Hope someone (or a few people) with big pockets could buy a whole range of copies at a special discount rate and give it to suitable people who are NOT Ron Paul supporters as yet. A good idea to start with could be certain
candidates for congress that are not so hooked up on McCain.
For instance look at this PR by Murray Sabrin:
http://newsblaze.com/story/20080508164238tsop.nb/newsblaze/T...
Several candidates agree with Sabrin, although only Donna Ward in NJ is a RP Republican so far. We could supply the other candidates in this article also with copies and this may just be enough to persuade them to embrace Paul fully and run under his/our banner.
You don't consider Sabrin to
You don't consider Sabrin to be a RP Republican? It seems that you don't because you mention that only Donna Ward is one. I'm just wondering why you wouldn't think the same of Sabrin.
...
Of course
I consider Sabrin to be a gold star RP Republican. I took it as a given and common knowledge to all here, so no need to say the obvious again :-)
He had a radio interview with the infamous Eric Dondero, with whom I am winning arguments on his site, where you find the interview also:
www.libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com Dr. Sabrin showed his smartness, calmness and debating skills against the "delusional" Dondero and his collegue, "Baloney".
My bad. After re-reading
My bad. After re-reading your comment I see that you were referring to "only Donna Ward" out of the candidates that agree with Sabrin. When I first read it I was thinking you meant out of all the candidates mentioned in the article, including Sabrin.
...
Good job
I have 4 out and about and I am waiting to receive two more. I am going to do the same thing and I think I will suggest to the others that they might want to do the same thing too. Then they will know that they don't have to keep it just because it was a gift from me.
In the first page of my copy
Razorwind Studios is an official endorser of Ron Paul, and we will live free or die! 14th alternate to MN state!

I wrote a little thing about "If your eyes have been opened and you are ready to join the revolution, please sign and date below. Please be sure to pass this book on."
I wrote a reminder to sign the front at the end of the book ("Let the Revolution begin.") .
I am having my parents read it, then I will pass it on to my grandparents (They have been McCainwashed), then I will try to pass it out in the public way.
Yes
This is what I thought would be fun. I like the idea of signing it and what you said is great.
Might I humbly suggest
If you haven't already seen this comment, go take a look and consider using it as part of your Promoting Paul arsenal. :)
Thank you so much fanofwalt.
I'd figured the idea was out there already.. I just didn't read that thread.
This is a wonderful idea.. I'ma promote the hell out of it.

It's all good!
I saw that post fanofwalt, and I have been incorporating it into my arsenal. I have bought several copies at bookstores (to help get the NYT count up) using your suggestions, and darn if that doesn't feel good too! I also make sure to hold the book up when I'm reading it in public so that people can see the cover (not in some unnatural dorky way though...;-).
Now it's time to hit up Amazon for some more gifts...

I bought five
books gave four away and kept one for myself and my children. the day I brought one home they grabbed it and couldn't put it down.
I think its important to remember that the proceeds from the book help the movement. Remember when Paul was in the news a few weeks ago talking about what he might do with the remaining campaign money ~possibly opening up a publishing company and such---so I encourage everyone to remember to buy many books to give away and the message reaches that many more people much quicker than sharing only one.

Write in a little foreword.
Only the other week someone here on the forum told us about the message he writes in on the first blank page before passing on the book.
I can't find it again... but it says something along the lines of: Don't read this as a Democrat, don't read it as a Republican, read it with....
The message when I read it sounded very inviting for the book to be read by everyone regardless of their political mind set.
Could someone please find this message again or know which one I am referring to?

Hi and welcome to the r3VOLution,
Please when reading this book, don’t read it as a Democrat, or a Republican. Don’t read it as a Liberal or a Conservative. Read it as an American who values your freedoms.
If you enjoy this book as much as I did, please pass it on so that this message of freedom can reach others. Better yet, buy several copies and pass them out as I have with your own message. If you read the book, you know that the small price of a few books will be returned to you 100 times over if this message ever sticks.
In any case please E-mail me and let me know what you think of the book and how you are going to pass this message on.
Thanks and enjoy,

Thanks so much John. That's the one I was looking for.
I'm looking too...
sounds like a great pet project for me to push... but I don't want the credit for the idea.

just AWSOME !
great way to break the spell.
The DP is proof that the grassroots support for Ron Paul and his peaceful message of individual liberty is large, real, and not going away!
Bravo!
Very inspiring. I gave one copy to my son and I bought two more and gave one to my boss to read and intend to keep them out to my friends who believe the MSM that Ron Paul is a kook. After they read the book I am sure they will realize that what he says is quite rational.

Found this on someone's ID in a chatroom....
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional liberal minority, and by the mainsream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
