dilution of the pro-war republican vote

i am from india...and have been following the ron paul campaign closely for some time now...discovered this site just a few days back...just wanted to share an insight i had while watching clips of the florida GOP debate...i think one of the most crucial parts of the debate was when thompson, mccain, romney and guliani threw accusations at each other...to me it signinfied the beginning of the process whereby there will be a break-up of the pro war republican vote...its an inevitable process simply because the campaign platforms of all these guys is so similar...especially on the war issue...and thats the best possible news for ron paul...cos the RP vote will never dilute or fracture...and just wanted to say...the kind of grassroots work you guys are doing is simply amazing...its an inspiration to people all over the world...

That's like dividing zero

70% of Americans, including me, are against the war. Every candidate in this election except maybe two Democrats favor preemptive nukes and occupying the Middle East until 2013.

I refuse to budge on this issue. This is the big decision, and for me it's made.

OK you're really gonna think

OK you're really gonna think I'm a Huckabee plant after this but honestly it's a good idea to try to cut into Giuliani's lead by painting others as more tough on terrorism. Let's turn Huckabee and McCain and the other trailing candidates into Jack Bauers! We should remember that even if the Congressman reaches 20% he'd be behind Giuliani.

I hear Huckabee personally tortured actionable intelligence out of Al Qaeda operatives. He will keep this nation safe!

We don't have to support anyone else but Dr. Paul

That is the best way to make sure Dr. Paul is in the lead.
He is the best choice out of all the candidates and anyone who would like to know for sure needs only look at his 30 year voting record.

On the other hand, we don't

On the other hand, we don't want to encourage any of the other candidates, because a demoralized and dispassionate base will be more likely to stay at home while we flood the voting booths. I would say, just keep hammering on the bad stuff of each of the other candidates and demoralize their support, but do so in a very equally distributed fashion so that they are all equally demoralized. We simply can't let one of them gain prominance. Keeping them evenly spread out is key.

You're trying too hard

Paul isn't going to try and portray any other candidate: he is going to continue talking about the issues and trust the power of his Constitutional ideas. Let the others try tricks to build support.

a misunderstanding

think it came out a bit wrong...its inconceivable that dr.paul would ever try to portray somethng about any oter candidate...the very thought is sickening...cos that would reduce him to the level of the rest of them...those were just my opinions...guess portray was the wrong word

Definitely a misunderstanding

I was responding to the post that that was immediately above mine, and was indented to show that. I thought your post was wonderful, and it made me quite happy to read it.

Actually i find giuliani is

Actually i find giuliani is trying to get the best of both worlds...he's rabidly pro-war...so he's basically trying to win the republican nomination on those grounds...but he's also pro-abortion and anti-gun rights...which means that if he does win the primaries (and the world and all civilisation will soon fall to pieces the world over...) he can then contest with a democrat...but theres one fly in the creep's ointment...and thats dr. paul!...cos now giuliani can't just blather on about the war and win the republican side of the debate!...the best thing to do is to portray the other guys as just as war-mongering as mussoliani...and at the same time expose these contradictions in his platform...

Good point!

I heard Giuliani eats babies for breakfast. They're fed to him by his homosexual illegal immigrant staff.

What is your point?

With such an idiotic post? I have read some other comments that you have made and you do not seem to be very bright. Your comments are silly and suspect.

Why are you getting all

Why are you getting all defensive when I mock Giuliani? Odd...

Because we have a positive message we believe in

The Paul campaign is a sincere attempt to bring an administration that will respect the Constitution and make America a beacon of liberty to the world again. We want to focus on the quality of our guy. In many ways, it was the ridiculous attack on Paul in the South Carolina debate that first propelled his growth, and we want to talk about why we support and respect Ron Paul.

Ad hominem attacks on other candidates are usually a mark of a campaign that can't stand on its own issues. Paul has never done that, and never will, and we can support him best by showing the same respect he has always shown.

From what I've seen you guys

From what I've seen you guys just like to attack each other for not being pro-Ron enough. Way to go guys! The doc would be real proud of you guys. [rolls eyes]

Remove the stick from your...

Are all Ron Paul supporters incapable of humor?

I'm waiting for the punchline

Your mama so dumb, she thinks judo is how you make bagels.

Its so cool

Thank you !

Its so cool people from so far away have an interest in our politics. You're absolutely right the doctors' support cannot be diluted. If the media favors an opponent like Huckabilly or Ghoul (iani) it does not dilute votes for Ron Paul it only redistributes the soft votes among other candidates.

Even the democrats cannot promise to bring our military home. This duplicity will be their defeat.

Thanks again for your interest and your encouragement.

..Without the truth we have nothing

True

I think you make a valid point. The rest of them have extremely similar platforms and just stand up there saying "vote for me, im better than him". While Ron Paul stands before the audience, a GREAT man, who knows that his message takes the front seat and he is secondary. This is what is so honorable about Dr. Paul. Even in his greatness, he has humbleness. What an outstanding individual.

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.
