2 very pressing issues

The official site says $4mil, but Ron's fundraising director said in a very recent interview that it was actually $3mil, $4mil, $5mil over the next 3 months.

Regardless, he's now raised almost 1/2 of his entire Q3 funds in 1 month. That's impressive, and incredible for a guy who gets almost ZERO attention from the MSM. Plus, if everyone who pledged for Nov. 5th actually donates, he'll raise over $1.1 million that DAY alone.

Regardless, I think that the original poster is right in asking that if you have more than $100 you're planning to give on Nov. 5th, give the extra now and then donate $100 as planned on the 5th.

I feel pretty confident that as Ron's support grows in the run to the primaries, he'll hit the $12 million target he set. And if he doesn't, so what. As long as he has as much money as he needs to get his name out there that is all that matters.

Perhaps some are right, but if November 5th is to be a true success we must give more than 100.00. Because sadly, the people have not disappointed me in the facts of fundraisers, they don’t do what they say! How many of us who organize a Meetup see a good number RSVP to come, and don’t? Same thing. Now on a second note, I agree “I” don’t need to worry about the MSM, but the mainstream voter will be paying attention to what is said on TV. I cannot emphasize enough how many people can hardly tell me two candidates names on the republican side. I may be WAY off base but I believe Ron Paul should call Rudy out! The most exposure we ever received is when the MSM supported Rudy on the 9/11-attack debate point, and had to eat crow after researching what the truth is. Dr. Paul gave Rudy a reading list, and now we need to ad the constitution to that list! Ron Paul said Sunday he wants to talk to Jay Leno about this.....

Recently, on NBC's The Tonight Show, Host Jay Leno quipped, "They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it's worked for over 200 years, and [heck], we're not using it anymore."

The poster has a point. Regardless of what we believe the MSM will do with the October fundraising goals, we are about to have a flood of new interest on the campaign site, and we don't want them seeing anything that might create the appearance of a weak candidate. Perhaps the best thing to do is for the campaign to temporarily move their widget to another page, or to put up another temporary widget in its place that tracks fundraising in a different context (like they did with the 430k meter not long ago).

The fundraising for the 3rd quarter was useful to establish his credibility, but at this point it is simply needed for the normal purpose of funding the outrageous cost of ads.

If the MSM were to cover the campaign again because of what they chose to portray as a fundraising problem, it will be more coverage from the MSM: Yippee! Then they'll cover the next burst. Then the next slowing. And so on. They've announced the death of McCain once every month, but I'm sure he's grateful that they've continued to mention him.

The behavior of the MSM couldn't prevent the development of the campaign to this point. We should keep making contributions as we can without forgetting that we're doing it to help Paul get out the message and NOT because we've let the MSM scare us into thinking we need to make money to give to them for ads in order to keep their love. I think our emails will prevent them from ever ignoring us.

That said, you're right that we should remember the important role of contributions, and I think we should try to do something on every Money Bomb day (such as today), even if it is small. There will be one every week, and I've already committed at ronpaulmoneybomb.com to add at least $25 during every weekly bomb (and $100 on November 5, both by me and by my wife).

Hi Aaron. It is my belief that the November 5th money bomb should be as big as we can make it no matter the goal for October. The campaign has repeatedly stated they expect about 3 million for October and then 4 million for November and then 5 million for December. I would be very surprised if we do not reach the quarterly goal of 12 million. This October target is not very important and will soon be forgotten. Not so the effect and accomplishment of what we can do on November the 5th. A bomb has one purpose. The bigger it is the better it is. Its increasing effect is exponential. The bigger it is the greater the increased effect.

For instance 2 million is great but 3 million is way better than great plus one half. This is because it occurs within a 24 hour period and the maximum display of unity and strength is what this is all about. Let's not dilute our display of unity. I myself am forking out more than I normally would simply because of the exponential potential. We'll get more bang for our dollar on November 5th than on ANY day between now and the general election.
