A Solution to Non Specific Ron Paul Topics

I see there is many turmoil over the forum topics like chem-trails, diets, free energy, abducted children and more topics like that important for many daily paulers, but not directly for the campaign itself.

A solution would be to have a main forum topic for these non specific Ron Paul topics where only this kind of subjects will be posted and discussed. Then, on the right side of the homepage, below all the "Active Forum Topics", should appear another one called "Non Specific Ron Paul Forum Topics" with like 7 topics on it.

Don't know if this is difficult to program, but I think it would be a very descent solution. What do you all think?

Great idea!

Maybe it would keep the trolls from posting about how "off topic" the threads are. I, too, believe that everyone should be allowed to contribute their thoughts.

I think it would all eventually end up back on the main forum.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

Too funny.

I was thanking you for all your responses to me becoming a grandfather in the other thread when it got flagged off DP.

Democracy in action...lol

My solution is to install another version of Drupal on another website... and have ~controversial~ topics invisible to guests... then make it possible to ignore topics on a user level. I've already done that, I'm just putting a theme on it now. Otherwise, the navigation is the same as DP... blog for mainpage content, current/hot topics to the right, etc...

Then I added moderator functions to the ~general~ portion of the forums.

So we can have it all.. literally.

I just can't finish it tonight, as I'm on video cam with the newest lil r3VOLutionary's mom right now.

Gotta love technology.. ;)

Yeah, the same thing

Yeah, the same thing happened to me ---- and it looks like more than one thread got deleted while I was writing my post that got "Access Denied". What was that all about?

simple

7 people flagged it.. that is the current check and balance here at the DP.

So people work around it.

I'm setting up new boundaries.

I think Lisa is right,

I think Lisa is right, because everyone thinks that their post is of course the "most important" one, and would not want it to be consigned to a secondary forum.

Maybe

but, it could be made so that 7 clicks would put it on the off-subject forum. This is a good solution and I admire the problem solving. To me, I am fine the way it is, but the other way is better than running people out of here when these subjects are very educational and speak to the mess we have allowed the country to get into because we did not pay attention to Dr. Paul in 1988.

Never said it was or wasn't a good suggestion.

Just my thoughts on the outcome.

Let the market (and manystrom) decide.

Ron Paul "Sign Wave Across the USA" -- November 5th!

I think that would be a nice solution

because it would be worth a try. Peace

We all arrive here on the Daily Paul because of our "why". Something fired us up. For me, it was access to locally grown organic living foods and denouncing deception in farming and the so called 75 year leases by foriegn entities, reaping and raping environments at a break neck pace. Or you in the very fast "green" car on your way to hike in a protected wilderness, eating from the survival packet that Socrates always carried . . . . you need your space and embrace nature.
Anyway, I suggest you mentors, knowlegeable ones on the inner workings of the campaign, guide us and point the way. Keep your "road maps" in front of our faces. You or us should "bump" your directives daily. I know it's frustrating and redundant, but that is a mentor's job. Arise to the occasion! A few months ago, we we're all shouting "Ron Paul for President". The "why" is still here. It's just a little hazy to identify what to do. It takes courage to read the Daily Paul. Some simply don't want to put their brain thru the drama, so they garden. And they are listening. Did you know, that in 1934, 68% of the people in the USA were envolved in argriculture? (something like that). We need our roots to create the vision. Gardening and intelligent food choices are an important part.
As in rawfoods . . . countless advantages for the individual and the environment (zero foot print). Facts and testimonials abound, yet a man will change his religion . . . quicker than he will change his diet, even if it's killing him. In the beginning, I needed daily" motivation" to eat raw.

Likewise, we need daily guidence from you mentors. Our "why" needs the activity to make it come true. Remind us! I am not offended by this kind of repitition.

There are few mentors on the Daily Paul, yet you know who they are . . . . because they are about "campaign stuff". They should be given daily bumps and should be given special attention. Maybe a special side margin for the mentors. But again, who decides? But leave the main blog open. Try not to get too upset. Mentors from all over the country share their activities with us. Keep them bumped. If you think they are racheteers, share your opinion. Don't spend a lot of time explaining to me, send me to a site. I'll ask for more clarification if I don't understand. But usually, I just want a nay or yay because I already know you mentors from previous writings.

All in all, I get good information and diverse opinions from the people contributing to this blog . . I've read the Manefesto, helps making a decision . . we're just working out the details. Topics don't turn away seekers, only turns away people that have no "why". They will not get passionate anyway, but thanks for the visit. Everyone must talk to at least two new people per day, and share the message. Make it a life style, grow into sharing the message, because we'll be at it till it's done.
I am alive when I talk about the Daily Paul !!!!!
I will conclude with "orvals"sign off line: "We can all say what needs to be done, but who here led by example today?

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Did anyone else see this????

Bernanke has lunch the people he is supposed to be regulating? This is exactly why we need Ron Paul for President.

I think

our wonderful moderator could follow his own rules and cut all posts that have nothing to do with RP or the movement. Many people repost news stories so they can be discussed-that's cool-discussion helps solidify personal views and helps people know where they stand on issues relevant to WAKING UP!
It's the personal attacks that need to stop.....and the need to defend oneself and opinion...its digression, petty, and a waste of time...noone should feel bad for posting an opinion...censoring is rampant-most all of us have all been guilty

Yes, and this is certainly

Yes, and this is certainly not censoring. It is just organizing it. The topics still can be discussed, and they still have much attention on the homepage.

I wasn't referring

to this post as censoring. I think you have a valid point and an excellent idea. The sickness is growing and if you debate it it automatically turns into a personal attack...we are all guilty of this from time to time....how in the world will the movement ever succeed when we can't allow others the right to their opinions.....again, relevance to the topic is the key...like Rhino says-we all have our roles----
