Would the members of Daily Paul kindly answer this question?

How come a forum topic along the lines of "he said, she said" gets over 100 comments a day while something relevant and tangible like a heads-up regarding S1959 or a noteworthy petition go unnoticed and are hardly touched upon?

I think you should take this post

LOL

i don't participate in those

i don't participate in those posts (the he said she said ones). It's even unusual that I'm reading and commenting on this one since it really isn't very important and doesn't have anything to do with Ron Paul, etc.

It's a slow night.

BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. HELP ME.

I don't like it, but what can I do?

"first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks...will deprive the people of all property" -Thomas Jefferson

government of the people, by the people, for the people

To parallel

a line or two from the end of Metal Gear Solid 2..a really trippy game that is actually about Globalism amoung other things....I would say:

Find something worth carrying into the future and fight for it. I can't tell you what that thing is.

for me

I take care of my activism and doing what I think is my part, but a little fun here at DP is a wonderful thing.

For what it is worth..

Here is my take on the problem.

As the RP campaign had setbacks the excitement diminished, fair-weather RP supporters left the site, and the demographics of the site changed.

The only people who were left were people who were "ardent" believers or had VERY strong feelings in or about something or someone.... Ron Paul, liberty, 9/11-truthers, chemtrails, the Illuminati, "Dr. Steve", polygamists, Bible-thumpers, atheists, etc. etc. etc.

Or.... people with a hidden agenda.

Now "True-Believers" tend to be a rather intolerant bunch. Years of being considered a "kook" by your acquaintances tends to make you even more fanatical when people question your beliefs, leading you to become even more vociferous in promoting your ideas, leading to more abrasive and abusive verbal behavior.... and a vicious cycle of intolerance and incivility sets in.

Add to that the fact that, yes, maybe this movement still scares the global fascists, not for what it is, but for what it could become. Maybe a multi-trillion dollar economy and world domination are a big enough prize to justify sponsoring an agent provocateur. His role would be to sew discord and maybe mislead the movement just enough to render it ineffective or, even worse, antagonistic to its necessary political base.
Such a person would not have to be particularly charismatic, especially if he had a few "cronies" to lend him credibility and fight his battles while he stayed largely above the fray.

When I first came on this site, it was in a transition. I was excited about the potential of the Freedom/Ron Paul movement and had real hope for the first time in a long time.

I spent HOURS crafting sincerely written, carefully crafted posts only to see them immediately get buried under an avalanche of semi-literate garbage. I had and posed what I thought were good questions and comments that were largely ignored.

Then one day I made a post about an email that my wife had received from one of the campaign staffers concerning delegate options at the national convention. I suddenly found myself viciously and personally attacked. I had my honesty questioned. I was accused of being a liar, infiltrator, and a mole.

At this point I had a choice, I could leave this site in disgust and leave it completely in the hands of the ignorant goons who had attacked me, or I could stay and fight for sanity and liberty. (Yes, I AM ALSO a fanatic and a "True-Believer"!)

Like attendees at a party with a group of obnoxious drunks, after awhile the crowd starts to thin out leaving only the obnoxious drunks, the host, and his closest friends, and party fanatics with nowhere else to go.

That is our situation today. DP is a ghost of its former self, which suits certain factions just fine.

I really do hope that They ignore this post, but I am afraid they won't. After all its their job.

All true but...

I disagree. There are many true believers here and not all are abrasive or abusive. It's all about personalities. Some people are the way they are for no apparent reason.

BTW, don't go anywhere. You have too much to offer.

Thanks

and I knew that my generalizations would miss the mark on some.
Just my obsession with psychoanalysis.
No, I won't be going to leave any site with this many good patriots.

After all, God was going to spare Sodom and Gomorrah if he could find even a handful of righteous men, why would I be harder to please?

Thank you Spacehabitats.. both for the time involved in typing the post and your thoughts behind it.

Romancing the Stone Walls

What irony. I always enjoy your Spacey take on things. ;-) Sorry I missed this thoughtful thread when it first came out. I have been off pouting about a Flag Monkey biting into the dust an esoteric tangential thread on signs and symbols which, for a time, occupied some of my attention.

We Were Not Ready

by J. L. Bryan
by J.L. Bryan

Dedicated to Dr. Ron Paul and R3volutionaries Everywhere

We were not ready.

He offered us an empty hand.
An open and honest hand, concealing nothing.
No blade behind the fingers.
No magic, no artful coin tricks,
To dazzle and distract us.
We were not ready.

His words, plain and spare as Texas flatland.
The one who does not lie
Has no need of honey
To sweeten a viper tongue.
He promised all he could give,
And all that we needed,
Which was nothing.
We were not ready.

He stood amid the crashing towers
Of a falling empire,
And suggested we stand aside
And let them fall.
He told us we have no need
Of playing gods, kings or conquerors.
We are only men and women,
Like all men and women,
And that is enough.
We were not ready.

He would have led us nowhere,
Our nonsavior, our uncrusading anti-emperor,
Freeing us at last from this weary, aimless march.
Emptying the prisons and the battlefields,
Leaving each man to his own life.
We were not ready.

His fight was for peace.
His revolution was for love.
His doctrine was free humanity.
His highest law was liberty.

By following his nature,
He exposed the hordes of liars.
False priests of all factions
Have lost their flocks.

The heart knows the truth,
Though it roils the mind.
Now that we have heard, how could we forget?
How could we accept the old familiar lies?

He awoke a hunger
No illusion can quench.
He did not need us,
But we needed him.

We are not gods or kings or conquerors,
Only men and women, like all men and women.
What has begun cannot be stopped.
The truth, once heard, cannot be unheard.

The newborn Revolution, decentralized and protean,
Shifts form, grows stronger, spreads its wings.
We have played the game their way.
Now, we begin to play it ours.

One day, we will be ready.

Because

We are on overload. There are so many important issues on the table that we cannot wrap our heads around all of it. We have to have a lot of relax time in order to attack the important issues. The time around our election was so intense, I wasn't sure I was going to hold myself together.
This movement has taught me more in over a year than in my whole life really. DP is mostly responsible for that.

It has

been a necessary learning experience for all.

"This movement has taught me more in over a year..."

I feel the same way.

Got to do with all talk...no

Got to do with all talk...no action.

This phenomena is due to talk radio--Limbag and Insannity.

Somehow, they've managed to convince their audience--'republicans' that they are doing some sort of civic duty...by calling in, running their mouths, and then listening '3 hours a day.'

Notice how neither of them...rarely ever advise any action....political activitism is now reaaaaaal easy.

Yeah. Someone once said that

Yeah. Someone once said that when Americans complain, they think they have done their duty.

Keeping our freedom takes work and maybe some sacrifice. Not everyone is up to it.

The poster is talking about YOU and the rest of the Bump Monkeys

KEEP THIS BUMPED - IMPORTANT !!!

...And, yes, I have seen The Constitution

I don't think those things go unnoticed

I think it's because the more controversial a subject, the more comments it will get. I think we're all on board with the S1959 issue.

The DP is successful

because it is filled with a wide variety of topics that touches a nerve with us.
I go to the Ron Paul posts first then to whatever else that interests me.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

Walden, I don't get it either...

funny thing is, this post has already gotten more comments than your original post on S1959 too. Go figure. Maybe we are all just sick of it, and feeling quite helpless that nothing seems to get done either way. I bet if we had a way to see how many people actually read the post as opposed to commented on it, it might make you feel a little better. I think we all are getting very frustrated...and just want to be heard by somebody! Makes me feel like screaming!
BTW, I did post on the S1959 subject, just took me a while to think about it.

We need to unite. Take

We need to unite. Take responsibility for our Government and Constitution. Get to work and participate in our America. Need to do it more.
www.givemeliberty.org/revolution

Frustration is

key to all this I suppose. Never would have (laughing at myself as I type this) "Googled Ron Paul" had it not been for a painfully obvious, to myself anyways, lack of care from our government in all manner of issues.

So yes, after 7-8 months of beating the streets, signwaving, donations, forums, live chats, flyers, stickers, blimps, parades, pictures, youtubes, NWO's, 9/11 truth, and reading and reading and reading...

AND giving up smoking to pay an extra $10 bucks a week to RP...I can definely relate to the level of frustration in the Revolution, but I insist that we have to make positive forward movement, avoid the potholes, and roll on! Like a D&D dork on drugs. Like an up-armored Pope-mobile, but instead of the pope behind the bulletproof glass, we have the CONSTITUTION!

..and that Constitution is

..and that Constitution is what will save us in the end. It is time to move.

You seem to be doing okay

Still, I remember back in October when HR 1955 came up. I called my Congressman and I wrote scathing protests, but look at the impact of all our efforts. That bill sailed through without a single ripple in the rest of the country. What can we do? No one cares until it touches them, and then it will be too late.

What can we do?

March on washington. 7/12/08
Show our # if we do not do this on simple task we are not united.

No reason to post

There really isn't a reason to post on a subject that everyone here is in agreement on. Sorry if we can't keep your threads bumped forever, but there's not a lot to say.

Some discussions are simply more entertaining if you don't have 100 posts that basically say the same thing.

What do you think about the war on drugs?
How about Operation Wall Street?
Shout it today!

Not wanting

to be crowned thread king. Wanting to raise awares to simple human pettiness in hopes like minded will rise above .

I like your last sentence though. Hoping that people that argue for the sake of arguing, known on the net as trolls, don't hijack the hard won good image of so many RP supporters. Have fought and won over dozens to revolution with intelligent, calm, and reasonable fact presentation. Not debate, not name calling. The horsesplay must end.

Time is scant and we must arm ourselves with knowledge and weapons to confront tyranny, not circle-jerk ourselves into oblivion with pointless ankle-biting.

Make fun, buddy

This thread has now been linked from the OUR NEW PROJECT thread on the home page.

Given the evidence in these threads of the "type of people" the RP supporters are, why would any Presidential candidate consider playing to such an "audience"?

Laurie? What was that

Laurie? What was that supposed to mean? I got a real negative vibe from that post...
