Log Cabin Republicans?

As RP has voted against the Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage, I'd imagine he'd have a strong following from members of this group. Does anyone know how big their numbers are? Would an endorsement from this group hurt RP in some States?
Here is their contact info.

Any ideas about this?

Log Cabin Republicans
Ron Paul's advocating letting the states decide is a plus in winning their favor. This is the source of their beef with Mitt Romney.
Emphasize separation of church and state. Look carefully at Ron Paul's voting and legislative record, because you will enter into alot of debate on this. You'll also hear about his support for 'Don't ask, don't tell' which is viewed by several conservative gays as a Clinton-era cop out. Otherwise, cool.

Letting the states decide is something that most people can agree with. I think that with this issue as well as with abortion people have seen the deep division and impossibility of a national solution. He is really strong on both sides of the issue by taking this position, which is why I believe the founding fathers implemented it. It is the only way to really handle this sort of divisiveness.
As for the number of log cabin Republicans, I think that whatever their numbers are they'll love Ron Paul. Maybe even some of the thousands and thousands of closet log cabiners will support him on it. :-)
