I think the 1-DAY PASS described above is fantastic It really simplifies (and saves money) when you are trying to navigate DC.

Be aware of the fact that to actually park you own car in DC: 1)Very expensive 2)Very difficult to even find a parking spot unless you are staying at a hotel, etc. that provides parking (and some charge a fee for that).

I suggest folks start researching the various hotels now, and when you find one that suits your needs, go ahead and make a reservation now (ask for information when calling about their cancellation policy).

P.S. I do not work for "AAA", so I'm not promoting it; I'm just a member and I'm also trying to get my travel plans in order and hopefully help some other Ron Paul supporters out at the same time.

If you are a "AAA" member, of course you know you can either call them about this or you can go to the website http://www.aaa.com and look at all of the info there.

And they also provide a service called "Trip Tics" (or something that sounds like) whereas for members they will give you very detailed information and maps for free; I've used this when traveling on relatively short trips or the longer ones.
