BobBarr Question Mail Bomb

Ok, the best way to get this to Bob Barr's attention would be for him to get flooded by the Revolution with requests for answers to these most important questions.

If he wants the Revolution's attention, he just got it. Now we want some answers. Email his campaign here:

Many of these would have to be brought forth before him by Congress but he can sure as hell use his bully pulpit as president to push these questions out into the public eye. Here are the questions that we want answered (feel free to add your own):

1.Will you put a stop to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (or whatever name it's going by these days)?

2.Will you pull the U.S. troops out of ALL nations around the globe and bring them home to better provide for defense of this nation?

3.Will you put a stop to the NAFTA Super Highway?

4.Will you abolish the Federal Reserve?

5.Will you promote a foreign policy of NON-INTERVENTIONISM?, i.e. NO more foreign aid to nations of any sort for any reason. This means money/weapons/training of their military forces on our soil like School of Americas in Ft.Benning, Ga.

6.Will you prosecute employers to the fullest extent of the law that employ illegal aliens?

7.Will you cut off ALL aid to ALL illegal aliens in this country? i.e. NO more social security, welfare, college grants for their children, etc.

8.Will you end birth right citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants in this country?

9.Would you work to restore a debt free, interest free monetary system that is backed by some form of a standard that will put tight restrictions on how much the government can spend?

10. Will you work to end the Income Tax and replace it with NOTHING?

11.Will you work to get the US out of free trade deals such as NAFTA/CAFTA/GATT etc?

12.Will you work to disband the Dept. of Education and actively promote homeschooling as a viable option?

13.Will you oppose any and all legislation designed to subsidize special interests such as HMO's?

14. Will you work to ban forced vaccinations/immunizations?

15.Will you work to protect the 2nd amendment for private citizens of this country, and not just for milita members?

16.Will you stop ALL participation in the UN/WTO/IMF/WorldBank?

17.Will you put a stop to eminent domain abuse in the US?

18. Will you relegate the issue of ALL drug legality (not just marijuana) to the States as it should be according to our Constitution?

19. Will you relegate the issue of abortion to the States and support Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act?

20.Will you support the freedom of choice for both patient and doctor and let the free market provide for a better healthcare system here in the US?

21.Will you promote an independent investigation of 9/11 and if government officials are found guilty of crimes, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law?

22. Will you work towards a phasing out of Social Security, Welfare, Minimum Wage laws?

Here is his transcript for the abortion thing

Funny by Larry Flint never produced the so-called check

The Revolution is waiting

The Revolution is waiting for a transcript of them questions son. STILL waaaaaaiting LOL!! priceless.

I thought...

this was a Ron Paul site. Am I in the wrong place? Bobby Barrsinister (sorry, I'm an Underdog cartoon fan, and Ghooliani has been replaced by Bobby boy as the villain in my mind) is a complete waste of time and space.

hahaha!! Barrsinister!!!

hahaha!! Barrsinister!!! Well here's the deal. There are a handful of trolls here that have spammed the forums shilling for Barr to fragment the Revolution and throw us into disarray. However, ALL Mr.Barr has to do is answer these questions that he's been FLOODED with by the Revolution, which he has yet to do. Why is that so important? Because all of these questions are predicated on OBEYING THE CONSTITUTION. Anything less is not going to work for the Revolution because we are wise enough now to know that pragmatism begets ever more pragmatism.

Go and talk on a Barr forum somewhere, please.

Have you done any research on the CIA?

Good, God.

Unify

oh, believe me, i KNOW. This

oh, believe me, i KNOW. This is just a perfect way for the Revolution to gauge Barr's worthiness as a candidate. Decades worth of compromise and lies is what has us on the brink of a total economic collapse so it's our goal to put forth candidates that will answer these questions with a resounding YES. Why....because they are all predicated upon OBEYING THE CONSTITUTION.

Forget what Barr says, look at this voting record

We only need to look at his voting record to see if he really cares about representing the people and upholding the Constitution. I briefly looked at some of his more important votes http://clerk.house.gov/art_history/house_history/index.html and was disgusted with the little that I found. For most people the Patriot Act automatically disqualifies Barr from being taken seriously, but that's just the tip of the iceberg with him. Below are links to his aye votes for Sarbanes-Oxley, No Child Left Behind, Iraqi War Resolution, and the Homeland Security Act. I also went through a few of the appropriations bills and Barr rubber stamped a lot of those, although I admit that he did vote against some of them. I would like to see a more thorough examination of his voting record comparing his votes with Dr. Paul's, particularly with the appropriations bills.

yep. pragmatism at it's

yep. pragmatism at it's best.

The counter-challenge

Oh please! Let's have a realtiy check! The question should be: Can ANYONE give a definitive answer as to how ANY of these items can be accomplished? Can Ron Paul? Can Chuck Baldwin?

1.Will you put a stop to the Security and Prosperity Partnership (or whatever name it’s going by these days)?

A: Maybe. SAPP is interest-driven but not completely integrated into our socialist bureaucratic network. Only a certain number of wealthy special interests will lose business because of its elimination.

2.Will you pull the U.S. troops out of ALL nations around the globe and bring them home to better provide for defense of this nation?

A: NO. Bringing home so many troops would, for one, make them redundant and cause them to be discharged, thus increasing unemployment. Even worse, the military-industrial complexes that earn billions from supplying these bases would lose their only clients. The MICs have too many lobbyists in DC to allow this to ever happen.

3.Will you put a stop to the NAFTA Super Highway?

A: Maybe. Still in the process. The special interest construction concerns are lined up, waiting to cash in on taxpayer money by the billions, but the corporations have yet to begin moving all remaining manufacturing concerns from the US and Canada to Mexico. If they did, this project would be IMPOSSIBLE to defeat.

4.Will you abolish the Federal Reserve or legalize competing currencies to free American from enslavement of the US Dollar?

A: NO. Thousands of Banks and their lobbyists, as well as the manipulators in the GAO and Treasury Dept. would never allow this to happen. Andrew Jackson was the last president capable of defeating the central bank. It is impossible to challenge these days.

5.Will you promote a foreign policy of NON-INTERVENTIONISM?, i.e. NO more foreign aid to nations of any sort for any reason. This means money/weapons/training of their military forces on our soil like School of Americas in Ft.Benning, Ga.

A: Absolutely NOT! Interventionism is the hallmark of American politics. The MICs would not tolerate this, nor would the various regimes which trade free taxpayer cash for corporate access to raw materials and slave labour overseas.

6.Will you prosecute employers to the fullest extent of the law that employ illegal aliens?

A: NO! Corporations, small businesses, farms, and the service sector are slave-driven. Cheap exploitable labour keeps America’s profit margin intact. What would happen if businessmen had to pay their workers a fair wage?

7.Will you cut off ALL aid to ALL illegal aliens in this country? i.e. NO more social security, welfare, college grants for their children, etc.

A: NO! The reason these people get benefits is because they will support whichever politician made it possible. Incumbent Senators, Congressmen, and now presidents will depend on a class of dependents to keep them in office forever.

8.Will you end birth right citizenship for children born to illegal immigrants in this country?

A: NO! Incumbent office-holders need more and more dependents and cheap labour to offset the votes of the disenchanted middle classes.
9.Would you work to restore a debt free, interest free monetary system that is backed by some form of a standard that will put tight restrictions on how much the government can spend?

A: NO! The socialist system requires a steady inflationary increase of spending to keep the middle classes weaker than the government. This “entitlement inflation” must always be higher than the rate of pay increase, lest the middle classes get the upper hand and experience financial independence.

10. Will you work to end the Income Tax and replace it with NOTHING?

A: NO! Too many people love the IRS! H&R Block and all the tax preparation firms employ tens of thousands of people, and have thousands of lobbyists to keep their businesses flourishing. IRS employs tens of thousands of federal employees, well known for never getting fired or laid off, no matter how badly they perform. Finally, the incumbent politicians would not be able to harp on the “unfairness” of the rich being taxed at the same rate as the poor, thus removing their biggest talking point! Too many people depend on the IRS for their survival. It will never go anywhere!!

11.Will you work to get the US out of free trade deals such as NAFTA/CAFTA/GATT etc?

A: NO! Too many corporations depend on expendable slave labor and cheap raw materials in poor countries to EVER permit these treaties to lapse.

12.Will you work to disband the Dept. of Education and actively promote homeschooling or private schooling as a viable option?

A: NO! The government depends on the DOE to create a class of stupid yet obedient tax-payers to eternally fund the socialist system and forever reelect the incumbents.

13.Will you oppose any and all legislation designed to subsidize special interests such as HMO’s?

A: NO! That would be suicide for any incumbent!

14. Will you work to ban forced vaccinations/immunizations?

A: NO! What would thousands of pharmaceutical corporations and their lobbyists do for a living if the government didn’t mandate their businesses?

15.Will you work to protect the 2nd amendment for private citizens of this country, and not just for militia members?

A: NO! The corporate police state demands nothing less than the disarming of any challenge to its force.

16.Will you stop ALL participation in the UN/WTO/IMF/WorldBank?

A: Are you kidding? The multinational corporations and MICs thrive on transferring large amounts of American wealth into third world treasure chests!

17.Will you put a stop to eminent domain abuse in the US?

A: How can that be stopped? A government’s ability to requisition personal property and turn it over to contractors and corporations, is its most highly cherished way of rewarding faithful courtiers and supporters.

18. Will you relegate the issue of ALL drug legality (not just marijuana) to the States as it should be according to our Constitution?

A: No, the war on drugs has been a colossal success for those special interests that receive billions every year to do nothing.

19. Will you relegate the issue of abortion to the States and support Ron Paul’s Sanctity of Life Act?

A: No, the abortion issue has been one of the best distractions in American politics for the last 30 years, causing whole swaths of people to support total idiots and incompetents for high office based on abortion policy. Why stop now?

20.Will you support the freedom of choice for both patient and doctor and let the free market provide for a better healthcare system here in the US?

A: NO!!! The government created the system we have now! Mandated benefits, HIPAA, and a host of other moronic regulations ensured at least a 15% increase per year for the last 12 years! Soon, the prices will be too high, and not even the biggest universal healthcare skeptics will be able to resist government control over the ENTIRE system. Imagine how powerful those incumbent politicians and their corporate sponsors will be then!

21.Will you promote an independent investigation of 9/11 and if government officials are found guilty of crimes, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law?

A: Hah! Let's stay on planet earth, ok?

22. Will you work towards a phasing out of Social Security, Welfare, Minimum Wage laws?

A: No. You’re talking about eliminating socialism in this country. That is IMPOSSIBLE without not just a great depression, but a total and utter global financial collapse and complete bankruptcy of the federal government. When it takes 50,000,000 greenbacks to buy a cup of coffee and there are “federal employee paycheck” riots in the streets of every major city, finally we can say that these administrations will no longer be needed. All of the million-odd people who work for them can be turned into the streets, to join tens of millions of other unemployed leeches who make up the gigantic SUPER-CORPORATION known as the federal, state, and local government.

Final point.

Ron Paul cannot do virtually ANY of these things, even though ALL of them are a real problem. But then, nobody can! Its impossible. I hope Ron Paul can rally the conservative reaction and support Bob Barr in reducing the corrupting effects of these cancerous problems. But nobody can eliminate them. Not without eliminating millions of dependents and literally global financial powers that leech off American wealth.

HAHA!!

THis is a GREAT response! just dripping with sassiness!!

Neo

I have to say I missed this one, it was so cleverly done. It truly was a satire that even I did not catch it until I reread it, and saw it given away on only one sentence towards the end. Good one, a lesson to keep us on our toes.

So I guess it is clear

You do not support Ron Paul, as you do not believe what he says he will do. You have also bought into the BS that the way things are is the way they will have to stay or the world will just crumple. On top of that Bob Barr will come to the rescue and "reduce the corrupting effects of these cancerous problems". We don't need another promise of a bandaid for our problems. Whatever Revolution you think you are in is just another name for business as usual with the disguise of promoting something will really change. Can one man by himself make all of these changes totally by himself? Who said that would be the case?

I believe he was being

I believe he was being sarcastic :-)

I think he was being

serious, but it would be great if he was joking.

I was being both

I was being both satirical and serious. The consequences we all face are so severe, we'll have to be like Solzhenitsyn, arriving at a gulag and laughing at the sign that says "welcome."

I pray for a miracle, for a majour upset at the convention that puts Ron Paul firmly in place as the party's candidate.

Failing that, I must hitch my wagon to Barr and hope he knows how to veto.

Not so much like Ron Paul

From Reason Magazine:
"A former federal prosecutor, a firm social conservative, and a strong supporter of the War on Drugs, Barr doesn't fit most people's image of a civil libertarian." Yet he managed to come in at the last minute and swoop the nomination from under those who had been campaigning for over a year (that sounds strangely familiar)...
He also voted for the Patriot Act and the War on Iraq, something he now regrets...
I agree that he will say what it takes to get elected, but his voting record is proof of what he will do when he gets there.

That's why I support Ron Paul.
Steadfast.
Principled.
Unwavering.
In it till the day I write his name on my ballot:)

That's why I support Ron

RP Revolution vs. Barr

This is a good article about the LP's pragmatic approach to electing Barr. The center of this debate about Barr on the dailypaul.com is really philosophical one concerning "Pragmatism vs. Purity".
http://www.nolanchart.com/article3897.html
"....The debate can really come down to two distinct camps - the ideologically pure and the political pragmatists. If you are ideologically pure, it's really quite easy. You get to sit on the sidelines and bemusedly shake your head at all the people arguing over what flavor of evil they want.

You get to take the high road and make bold pronouncements - while people argue over the best way to save Social Security, you can stand back and proclaim, "End Social Security altogether!"

As the problem gets worse, you get to then go and say "I told you so!" to all the idiots who didn't listen to you in the first place.

The only problem is, they're still not listening....."

Exactly. And we are at the

Exactly. And we are at the point economically where we just don't have time to mess around with pragmatism. We need politicians who are going to radically CHANGE the way things are running IMMEDIATELY or it will be too late to turn this ship around. We don't need hazy generalizations of what the candidates are planning on doing. They are representatives of the people and we the people of this Revolution are going to tell them what we want. If they can't accept that, then they don't get our loads of money, time nor effort in promoting them in any way whatsoever.

I think Dr. Paul is a pragmatist

For instance he would like there to be no welfare programs, but concedes that it stopping them would hurt too many people, so he concedes to take the money saved from stopping foreign intervention and put them into those programs to keep them operating until some future date when people might learn to be self sufficient.

Also he says he would like the Fed to be eliminated but concedes that it would cause too much economic disruption to eliminate it, so he settles to simply make gold legal tender in order to provide competition.

He is in favor of no income tax and prefers no Fair Tax to replace it but says that he will vote for the Fair Tax because it's at least better than the income tax.

He says he's against foreign intervention, but he voted to invade Afghanistan.

And so on..

as stated already, these

as stated already, these things would of course take time. The Bully Pulpit is a powerful persuasion tool though and these are things that can be put forth to the public so that there is a great awakening that we CAN do without socialism and foreign intervention and loads of other things. These are principles that the candidate we get behind will tell the populace at large about and his reasoning for having these stances.

I agree with your point.

I agree with your point. However, even RP knows that a lot of his positions will not become a reality with the snap of a finger. For example, closing down all our military bases overseas. That will take decades to do. If RP were to be elected president in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, he would close down a couple small bases and have about 75-100% of the toops out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

I remember watching the movie "Lord of War" with Nicholas Cage. There was a part of the movie where he is in a huge warehouse full of rifles overseas somewhere. He said that the US military left them there because it was cheaper to buy new ones than to take the old ones back to the US. Closing down bases and moving all the US military equipment back to the US costs more in the short-run than staying there. That is a fact. But if you leave your equipment overseas, then it can get into the wrong hands and the US military will have to deploy back out there to eliminate the threat eventually. Also, where do all the soldiers go in the US. Being in the Army now, I know for a fact that even the largest bases in the US like Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, etc. are almost packed to full capacity. And giving soldiers off-post housing is more expensive than giving them on-post housing. So there are lots of logistical and financial difficulties with closing down military bases overseas.

I'm not saying that closing down bases cannot be done. I'm just saying it won't happen as easily as people think. Also, I'm with the 173rd Airborne located in Bamberg, Germany. My home station pretty much keeps the German city of Bamberg afloat economically. Because a lot of US military work is contracted to German civilians. This is also true with military bases elsewhere (South Korea, Japan, Kuwait, etc.). So there are TONS of special interests groups that will fight tooth and nail with a president who wants to put an end to that.

Closing bases overseas was just one example of RP's libertarian positions. I'm not even gonna mention abolishing the federal reserve, department of education, and other ideas.

My point is even a "purist" will realize after they win the presidency or any other political position, that they will have to be compromising and "pragmatic" in order to get things done. Some speak in "generalizations" not because they are shady but because they don't know what kind of challenges they will face exactly when they get elected into office that will prevent them from achieving their goals. So they avoid making "radical" statements in order to prevent themselves from making "empty promises".

It sucks, but its a hard fact that the RP Revolution should keep in mind.

Glad to see another soldier

Glad to see another soldier on the forums. In following the ideas put forth by the Austrian economist Hazlitt, we have to look at the short term gains vs the long term losses for the whole. All these special interests will fight tooth and nail but it will have to be laid out for them like this.........the US is going to completely collapse economically and quite probably bring down their economies and livelihood with it if we don't pull our troops back home. The British were able to slowly dismantle their empire and so should we. It obviously won't happen over night but it should definitely not take many decades.....2 maximum. We just don't have the money for it any more.

Same goes with the other platform planks. They obviously won't happen over night or even in 2 terms of a Ron Paul presidency but we are going to HAVE to start taking steps to winding down this empire before it totally collapses in on itself.

Add to the list

how about restoring our Constitution? If he had any intention of doing any of this he would be talking about it and he is not. There were videos on this site when he was doing the "exploritory" campaign as well as radio interviews that SGP had. He just talked alot and said nothing kind of like Obama. Oh, he did find it important to say Ron Paul was not an "active" candidate anymore though. I do not see anything about him or his messege (if he has one at all) that is about our Revolution. To the guy asking about wanting a clone of Ron Pauls. Look we are not picking people to be on our high school football team here. We are talking about turning the whole structure of our government back to where it is supposed to be. If someone does not even talk about the basics of what this Revolution is about, what are you trying to rally up support for him here for?

booyah

ding ding ding! You hit the nail right on the head. We are sick of the lying politicians pandering to the public so as to get our money and effort. We need politicians who are serious about their oaths to uphold and protect the Constitution. We DONT need people who say they are then turn right around and lambast us with a vote for pre-emptive war and a total evisceration of the 4th amendment by giving us the Patriot Act...no matter what excuse is used....it's NOT acceptable. It's the same tactic that Obama has used and tricked millions with and the Revolution isn't that stupid. There is going to have to be a radical shift in this government and for that to happen there are going to have to be politicians elected that will adhere to the Revolution's platform or we can all kiss the USA goodbye.

If Barr is a neocon in disguise

then won't he just give you the answers you want to hear?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Possibly. It's been known to

Possibly. It's been known to happen before. But with the Revolution so big and known for not having a short memory, I doubt Barr would commit political suicide like that.

Why don't you just ask

"Are you a clone of Dr. Paul?"

Or rather, are you in line

Or rather, are you in line with the platform of the Revolution. Paul and Baldwin and the rest of the Ron Paul Republicans running for office all seem to be on board. We'll see how Barr stands up to what we expect in a candidate so that our nation will be saved from total destruction.

I don't know how you view "the revolution,"

but I don't view the Ron Paul Revolution as THE revolution. The Ron Paul revolution is just one part of the larger revolution, which is the libertarian revolution. People aren't going to have identical ideas to Dr. Paul, and may disagree with him on some ideas. Dr. Paul may be wrong on some things even. He's human and not perfect or pure. But libertarian purity is not necessary to be part of the revolution as I see it.
